This master thesis sets out to compare the different public transport modes in Stockholm city.Both energy consumption and air pollution are compared. The chosen transport methods are car,bus and metro.Traditionally the rail industry has had environmental arguments as a strong competitiveadvantage when it comes to passenger transportation. However, in recent years the automotiveindustry has been getting more positive media attention regarding environmental issues, forexample Roger Kemp?s statement that the car is the most environmental friendly passengertransportation mode in the UK. This study will show the environmental advantages of railwaytraffic in cities.The energy sources of the world are not endless and the use of the different sources affects theenvironment in different ways.

The development of solar photovoltaic (PV) is increasing,with declining module prices and with a strongenvironmental profile. Policies are developed around theworld to achieve the targets set for renewable energy.In Helsingborg, the local power company Öresundskraft isworking with solar PV to achieve the goals of the city.With their vision: - Energy for a Better World and Powerfor the Region, their work with developing the local solarPV market is continuing and the next step is to create asolar PV policy. Today their offer is 1 SEK/kWh for theexcess electricity delivered to the grid.It turns out that compensating the customer is a vitalpolicy and it has to be dynamic to follow the decisions ofpolitics. The same survey shows indeed, thatenvironmental and technical part is of interest. Solar PVwill be supported locally to act on environmentalsustainability and locally produced electricity and withthis Öresundskrafts vision will be achieved..

Detta projekt är en ombyggnad av Tyresö Gymnasium till ett bostadskomplex, som bevarar ytterväggarna och den bärande konstruktionen i delen av skolan vald, för att sedan ändra om planlösningen och dra ett stråk genom byggnaden. Det ombyggdas gestaltning söker använda historiska referenser på ett sätt som gör att tillbyggnaden kontrasterar den kvarvarande skolan. Eftersom de yttre fasaderna bevaras skapar projektet en sorts oas, eller en gömd glänta, i Tyresö.  När ombyggnaden väl är klar, kommer skillnaden vara näst intill omärkbar utifrån, utom av vissa glimtar, för att locka in förbipasserande att ta en liten omväg och gå genom den skapade gränden. En stor del av det här projektet var vilket förhållningsätt jag skulle ha till historiska referenser. Utgångspunkten var att använda dem flitigt, något jag inte var så bevandrad i förut, i synnerhet inte förmodernistiska stilar (speciellt Art Nouveau) vilket var det jag ville använda. Jag ville varken enbart kopiera rakt av, eller använda element utan koppling till helheten i en annars modern byggnad.

Protracted social conflicts, as those in Cyprus and Northern Ireland, are based on deep rooted perceptions of identity and definitions of "the other". According to the theory of discursive conflict transformation, war is primarily a social phenomenon, which is legitimated by a discourse of identity defined in terms of exclusionist boundaries and structural ideas of the social relations in society. In order to develop positive peace, the discourse of violence has to be challenged and the discursive structures that enable war have to transform into a counterdiscourse of inclusion and individuality. For the purpose of making a critical peace analysis, I have, with the assistance of established conflict theories, analysed the basic ideas behind the the Annan Plan and the Belfast Agreement and thus been able to interpret to what extent they may foster positive peace. I argue, that in order to provide basic needs on a group basis, power sharing arrangement, based on ethnicity or religion, exacerbates division rather than ameliorating it.

The purpose with this essay is to examine and describe the concept of event and to show how events can influence a region. När en god tjänstekvalitet har uppnåtts kan detta leda till en viss tillfredsställelse hos kunden. Denna tillfredsställelse är en känsla som kunden får efter att tjänsten har levererats vilket visar till vilken grad kundens förväntningar är uppfyllda. För att besvara undersökningens syfte, vilka kriterier som påverkar kundtillfredsställelsen, utformades en enkät utifrån Grönroos (2002) sju kriterier för god tjänstekvalitet. Denna enkät delades ut till kunderna i Handelsbanken Västerås City under begränsad tid. Undersökningen visar att sambandet mellan ?Rykte och trovärdighet? och ?Kundtillfredsställelse? är starkt.

This study reads the oeuvre of the NobelPrize winner Samuel Beckett (1906-1989) as being closely related to these certain traditions andconnotations of for example religion, satire, and speaking nonsense, in his frequent use of parrotsand their symbolic potentials, in his writing. Furthermore, it is possible to distinguish a movementin Beckett?s use of parrots, from a more or less traditionally use, to one more philosophicallyprofound.Although the parrot graces us with its presence (or at least may be traced) in almost everywork written by Beckett, from the poem ?Whoroscope? (1930) to How It Is (1961), they are onlymentioned sparsely by his interpreters. Therefore, a brief history of the literary tradition of theparrot will be expounded.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att, genom en hermeneutisk och komparativ närläsning av Marianne Fredrikssons roman Enligt Maria Magdalena och Lukasevangeliet, undersöka hur Fredriksson transformerat Jesu liv och gärning från den bibliska berättelsen till romanen, samt vad som händer med historien när en kvinna får återberätta den. Materialet analyseras med hjälp av Gerard Genettes narratologiska begreppsapparat och utifrån ett intersektionellt perspektiv. Resultatet tolkas sedan genuskritiskt utifrån Yvonne Hirdmans teori om det ahistoriska genuskontraktet. Slutligen diskuteras studiens relevans för och i den svenska skolan.Studien visar att Fredriksson aldrig ämnat skriva en roman om Jesu liv och gärning, utan snarare om Marias liv och Jesu gärning. Marias version av ?allt det stora som hände? präglas av ett intersektionellt förhållningssätt, både när det kommer till hennes egna och Jesus värderingar, som sträcker sig långt utöver normen för den aktuella tiden.

This study examines a case of cooperation between banks, commerce, police and the municipality of Skövde, which in a project has the target to reduce the use of cash by 15 % in the city during 2011. The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of the importance of cooperation in which different actors come together to reach a common goal, such as speed or interfere with an ongoing change, while they must meet their own interests. In this study the case of cooperation has been studied by using a qualitative approach. The methods used in this study are participant observation and a group interview as well as personal interviews. The theories underlying the study revolve around the concepts of collaboration between organizations with similar interests, changes in society, conflict and resistance to change..

Aniara is a versified epos written by Harry Martinson in 1956. The story is about a large group of people who are being evacuated from earth to Mars because the earth is radiated. However something goes wrong. They fall out of course and end up on a never ending journey in space.This essay examines the relations between the eposAniara and Lars Rudolfssons dramatization for Stockholm City Theater, played during the fall/winter of 2010. Through performativity and narrative theories I analyze narrations and characterization in the text and in the play.

The point of interest in this study is to identify whether ethnicity is a correlating factor regarding Hungarian immigrants? development of identity in Sweden. The general aim is to increase knowledge and understanding of the conditions for the Hungarian ethnical group in Sweden to reach self-realization. The main question is whether the general view of the background of this ethnical group has a connection to their self-realization in Sweden? Since the study involves a whole group of minority, a limitation has been made to adults living in the city of Halmstad, Sweden.
