InJämtland, a province in Sweden, there is right now a staking going on for local production andrefining of wool in a project called Ullforum.

3D modeling is a common tool in landscape architecture. Today, there have been new ways in which virtual 3D models are successful tools in the dialogue with the public. These new methods involve children and young people who are groups that is hard to reach and engage in citizen dialogues. The purpose of this work was to investigate how a virtual 3D model works in the landscape architect?s communication with the public through the project Gruvstadsparken in Kiruna. Through workshops, I wanted to communicate Gruvstadsparken to get ideas from participants on how the park can be used and be revisited.

The discovered horse meat scandal has had great impact in the media and given many question marks as to how consumers should be facing meat labels. In the survey made lead consumers to ask themselves, whether they think about their consumption of reliable markings discovered at a risk and, if they have changed their consumption habits since discovered horse meat scandal. The survey was carried out in a grocery store in Karlstad city central, where the results show consistent numbers. People do not like change, and in this case, do not like to change their consumption patterns. The same patterns of consumption before and after the horse meat scandal reflects the results but with only three respondents exception.

This study focuses on carpooling and how carpools can be better integrated into today's society. The purpose of the study is to investigate what affects the motorist?s decisions to become a member of a carpool. The study will highlight the barriers and drivers of membership in a carpool. It is important for the future to change the attitude of motorists and get more motorists to choose more sustainable modes, as is the concept of carpooling is a good solution.The study is based on a qualitative approach with six respondents from the Eskilstuna municipality.

This essay examines the olfactory reading as a possible way to make sense of a fragmented novel, in this case Sara Stridsberg?s debut Happy Sally (2004). Through close reading, the essay identifies the source of the smells, who perceives it, and how this is portrayed in the text. The smell?s position in the text is understood in relation to Maurice Merleau-Ponty?s phenomenology, where the body, as created in the literary text, is considered as a source of knowledge.

Cykelgarage : en litteraturstudie om cykelgarage och dess samhällsnytta

När samhället tvingas att anpassa sig efter klimatförändringar och sinande oljeresurser uppkommer nya problem att handskas med för stadsplanerare. Cykelgarage, som är ett relativt nytt fenomen i Sverige, kan skapa bättre förutsättningar och erbjuda service för cyklister som parkerar vid stationer och resecentrum. De kan bidra till att få fler att cykla och att åka kollektivtrafik. I en framtid som ställer högre krav på en hållbar infrastruktur behöver vi satsa mer på kollektivtrafik och cyklism. Vi pratar om förtätning av våra städer och ser den positiva verkan det ger men det ställer samtidigt högre krav på stadsplaneringen.

Branding och Event Marketing : en studie om kunders imageuppfattning av svenska möbelproducenter

This essay describes the Swedish furniture business and its strong competition between domestic and foreign producers. As the demand on higher development speed grows stronger, alongside a fierce competition between the companies, long lasting and unique qualities such as customer relations and strong brand names become crucial. Nowadays many furniture producers chose to sell their products through retailers and they therefore miss out on invaluable direct contact with their customers. Consequently, this means that they lack the perquisite to build relations or more importantly, to communicate their brand.To illustrate the problem a case study and a survey have been carried out. The study compares the strategic marketing works between producers who have own concept stores and those who uses retailers.

Mannen, myten... Stereotypen? : En kvalitativ innehållsanalys av hur manliga stereotyper konstrueras i tidningen Cafés reklamannonser

The discussion about gender and ideals shown in mass media is a subject of great importance for the society in general. Media is playing an essential part when it comes to establish standards and values and we are constantly exposed to all types of impressions, whether we are aware or not. It is therefore of great importance that we understand how stereotypes are built and to gain a deep knowledge that would enrich the area of Media and Communication Studies.The aim and focus of this study was to analyze how male stereotypes is communicated in print advertising and how visual means of expressions helps to construct the masculinities shown. From a semiotic analysis of seven print adverts appearing in the Swedish lifestyle Magazine Café were we able to gain a thorough understanding about how male stereotypes are communicated and built.The result showed that different kinds of stereotypes are in fact used but it is still a hegemonic masculinity that is predominating. Traditional male characteristics are still in use but we were able to see strong indications of effemination, sexualizing and objectifying.

Så gör vi gott för Norrland - : En kvalitativ studie av Norrmejeriers visuella kommunikation

In a time where information overload is a fact, well formulated messages is required and communication is a big contributing element for building strong brands. In the north of Sweden, Norrmejerier is one of the big actors with dominance on the dairy factor market. Through making milk products that lands in the consumers refridgerators, they are not only working for economical interest but also for improving the nature of the north of Sweden. Through visual communication, Norrmejerier shows the consumers a beneficial view of the north of Sweden which corresponds to the populations own impression of their part of the country. This contributes to a feeling of belonging that makes strong and loyal consuments. The feeling of belonging is also reflected in Norrmejeriers commercial movies, that uses the consumers conscience to make costumers. By two group interviews and a semiotic analysis of Norrmejeriers commercial movies, this study aims to examine how Norrmejerier uses qualities of the north of Sweden when building their brand.

The title: ?Klara färdiga GÅ? can be translated as ?Ready steady GO?, and is ment as a request to start move. In this project I want to invite people to walk more by creating creative, demanding and playful walkways and paths, where the body can be allowed to work just a tiny bit harder.It?s because walking means exercise and fresh air, for free and without spetial equipment. Walking can also be fun, it allows people to stop, change direction and experience things.I think activity should be fun, inspired by children playground my project is a contribution to how adults might stay healthier in a city, where too often healthy activity is solely confined to the gym or sports fields.

My Finnish grandfather had a passion for architecture, eventhough he wasn?t an architect. In the end of the 1950s he builta wooden summerhouse on a lot outside of a small villagecalled Lempäälä, close to the city of Tampere. Today the lotbelongs to my mother. Every time I visit our summerhouse, itmakes me want to do as my grandfather did ? to build a smallhouse next to it.My project is a proposal for a wooden house on mymothers lot.

Den kommunala profilen och dess påverkan på den fysiska planeringen

Ronneby kommun har år 2009 antagit en ny profil, Den moderna kurorten, som ska förtydliga vad kommunen har att erbjuda och vilka mål den sätter för framtiden. Detta arbete syftar till att söka svar på om denna nyantagna profil och vad den står för har speglat av sig i kommunens fysiska planering. Detta görs genom att söka upp kommunala dokument med uttalade kopplingar till denna profil. Profilens betydelse kommer sedan att analyseras för att sedan jämföras med fallstudiernas åtgärder. På så sätt kan arbetet hitta kopplingar mellan den aktuella fysiska planeringen och kommunens profil och därmed avgöra om Den moderna kurorten har satt spår i planeringen.

Tomteboda BO

Projektet innebär en nyprogrammering och ombyggnad av en stor 60-talsbyggnad, belägen framför det nationalromantiska "Kontrollkontoret" i Solna, Tomteboda. Det nya förslaget innebär yteffektiva student och forskarbostäder i mångfald. Från enkilda boendeceller till gemensamma boenden och radhusliknande lägenheter. Detta för att möta den efterfrågan av bostäder som ständigt ökar och för att anpassa den ekonomiska aspekten i att bygga bostäder så nära Stockholms city. En central fråga har varit att anpassa boendet efter buller, då platsen är utsatt för buller från olika håll; järnväg & motorväg.

Ljudbildspel har producerats på tidningar i Sverige sedan 2007. De har blivit ett allt mer vanligt förekommande medieformat som idag syns på såväl kvällspressens, de stora morgontidningarnas och de lokala tidningarnas hemsidor. Samtidigt gör så gott som alla redaktioner nedskärningar, vilket inte minst drabbar fotograferna vars arbetsbörda växer i och med att bilder får en allt mer framträdande roll i pressen (Frigyes, 2010, s. 4-10). Produktionen av ljudbildspel är tidskrävande då fotografen inte bara tar bilder utan även ska ta fram ljud och klippa ihop det tillsammans med bilderna.I den här fallstudien av hd.se undersöks hur många som tittar på ljudbildspelen på deras hemsida samt om det finns vissa gemensamma karaktärsdrag hos de ljudbildspel som är mest besökta.
