Primär ciliär dyskinesi som orsak till kronisk lungsjukdom hos hund : en litteraturstudie och fallpresentation
Primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) is an important but unusual cause of chronic respiratory disease of young dogs. The purpuse of this paper is to study and present internationally publicated papers on PCD in dogs and present three dogs, in which PCD was suspected.
PCD has been reported in many dog breeds as well as in people. In dogs an humans, PCD is caused by inborn genetical defects which causes structural and functional abnormalities of cilia in the respiratory organs and other cilia in the body. Situs inversus occurs in about half the cases in people and probably in dogs as well. Respiratory signs usually predominate.

Studie på beteendeförändringar hos katt efter behandling av Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesion (FORL) :
Feline odontoclastic resorptive lesion (FORL) is a tooth disease
affecting both domestic and wild cats. Although FORL was
described as early as the 1920´s, the etiology is still unclear. Several
hypotheses have been presented but different studies have obtained
contradictory results, and today there is no generally accepted
etiology. Teeth affected by FORL are characterized by root
resorption with progressive destruction of the tooth structure and
alveolar bone as a consequence of clast cell activity. The disease is
considered very painful when reaching a certain stage.
Hydroperikard hos katt : patofysiologi, diagnos och behandling
Hydropericardium or pericardial effusion (PE) is the accumulation of fluid in the pericardial sac and is often secondary to pericardial diseases or diseases related to the heart. It is unusual with clinically relevant pericardial diseases in cats but pericardial effusion is the most common one.
Since PE causes serious symptoms and may lead to death it is important with a quick diagnosis and treatment. PE can be acute and cause cardiac tamponade, which gives severe clinical signs. Cardiac tamponade needs to be treated immediately or else the cat will die from cardiogenic chock. More common is chronic PE where the fluid accumulates during a longer period of time and the pericardial sac stretches.

The concepts of illness, disease, and sickness were used in order to investigate medical conditions and their impact. The process of non-attendance was studied using a model by Zovko, balancing different needs affecting decisions and final action.According to their decision, and final action, women were defined as "participants", "passive non-attenders" or "active non-attenders".
