Background: The relationship between advanced age, presence of illness and impaired functioning is well known. A large proportion of the elderly population has an extensive need of care and service and therefore need help from municipal care. Aging is a transition in life and also affects the person's identity and self image, making the person particularly vulnerable and challenging everyday safety. It is therefore of importance to gain knowledge about which factors at individual and organizational level that support a person-centered nursing care for the elderly so that caring responsibilities and staffing of nursing personnel may be scheduled based on need. Aim: This study aimed at describing dependency and care needs of elderly persons living in ordinary housing, sheltered housing and nursing homes.

Bakgrund: Kronisk sjukdom är en sjukdom av långvarigt tillstånd och har generellt en långsam utveckling. När ett barn diagnostiseras med en kronisk sjukdom upplever föräldrar att deras livsvärld förändras. Föräldrar till ett barn med kronisk sjukdom måste göra omfattande försök att anpassa sig till de nya omständigheterna.Syfte: Studiens syfte var att beskriva erfarenheter av att vara förälder till ett barn med kronisk sjukdom.Metod: Syftet besvarades genom en litteraturstudie av tio vetenskapliga kvalitativa artiklar.Resultat: När barnet blev diagnostiserat med en kronisk sjukdom upplevde föräldrar emotionell chock. Behandlingen kring barnets sjukdom upplevdes som svår att hantera i början men med tiden blev det lättare. Vardagen blev sig inte lik och familjerelationer förändrades.

Work, especially that in complex, dynamic workplaces, often requires subtle, local judgment with regard to timing of subtasks, relevance, importance, prioritization and so forth. Still, people in Nuclear Industry seem to think safety results from people just following procedures. In the wake of failure it can be tempting to introduce new procedures and an even stricter "rule following culture". None, or at least very little, attention is given to tacit knowledge and individual skills. I am aiming to highlight the inadequacy of putting too much trust in formalization and that reporting and trending of events will contribute to increased learning, an increased nuclear safety and an efficient operational experience.

This means in particular that school is, not only open to all children between 7 and 16 years, but also that compulsory schooling prevailing. Our society's development is making increasing demands on the theoretical capacity, and school's goals aligned in the same direction. The proportion of pupils failing to achieve the goals are increasing in number, a failure which has major implications not only for the individual student but also for society at large. This study's focus is directed against a group of students where the reason for this is a lack of ability to abstract thinking.

Blast furnace is the heart of every steel plant. Steel production is based on the blast furnace process, as it is where the iron is extracted from the iron ore and turned into liquid iron, which will subsequently be used to make liquid steel. Therefore, without hot iron, steel can not be produced. Blast furnaces in this process are supplied among others with pulverized coal. Raw coal should be prepared for the blast furnaces in the form of fine coal powder.

Not enough attention has been paid to the correlation between the failure of peacekeeping operations and the actual source of civil wars. This text is an attempt to fill that gap. Hence the question: under which conditions is it possible for peacekeeping operations to replace the responsibility of the state concerning the security aspects of the social contract? The outset of the text, using the theories of Robert Nozick, is a theoretical approach towards the founding of states, described as the merging of entities. The theory serves a purpose since it, in combination with identity, illustrates in what manner the glue of society occurs and the rallying around other kind of loyalties like clans and ethnicities.

Bakgrund: Hjärt- eller lungtransplantation håller idag på att bli en allt vanligare behandlingsmetod när den medicinska behandlingen inte längre har någon effekt på det sviktande organet och patientens liv hotas. För patienten och dennes närstående innebär hela transplantationsprocessen mycket lidande, ångest och oro. Ofta har de närstående en mycket viktig och ansvarsfull roll i patientens omvårdnad under väntetiden. Det är därför av stor vikt för sjuksköterskan att ha kunskap om hur hon på bästa sätt kan stödja, trösta och hjälpa dessa närstående. Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att identifiera och beskriva upplevelser av att vara närstående till en patient som väntar på hjärt- eller lungtransplantation för att få förståelse för hur sjuksköterskan kan ge stöd och hjälp.Metod: Litteraturstudie som bygger på nio vetenskapligt granskade artiklar.

Hypercholesterolemia is one of the risk factors for cardiovascular disease. In Asia, hypercholesterolemia is less common than in the Western countries. In Asian countries, soy products are consumed in larger quantities than in the Western world, which has led to implemented research with the intention of examining soy's potential effect on cholesterol levels.Objective: To investigate whether there is scientific evidence that isoflavone supplementation from soy bean may have a lowering effect on LDL-cholesterol.Search strategy: The databases used for the systematic literature search were PubMed, Scopus and Cochrane. Keywords used were cholesterol and 9 versions of this, and isoflavones and 11 versions of that.Selection criteria: RCT articles, on humans, written in English, published from 2011 onwards, that focused on interventions with isoflavones from soybeans and its effect on blood cholesterol, the participants were over 18 years old and the study time was at least 24 weeks.

De allra flesta som tränar hästar gör det för att i något syfte öka hästens prestationsförmåga. När hästen är rätt tränad för sin uppgift minskar skaderisken hos både häst och ryttare. Rätt träning främjar hållbarheten på lång sikt. Med en pulsmätare anpassad för användning på häst är det möjligt att utläsa vilken intensitet träningen har och anpassa den för att få den effekt man önskar. Med konditionstest för häst kan man sedan utvärdera om träningen haft avsedd effekt. En enkel mobilapplikation anpassad för konditionsträning av ridhäst skulle kunna leda till en ökad medvetenhet kring träning och träningsintensitet hos människor som tränar ridhästar.

Vid användning av en traditionellsopkvast innefattar rörelsen rotation och framåtlutning av kroppsställningen, somkan om den utförs under en längre tidsperiod leda till muskuloskeletala besvär ochha negativa effekter på hälsan. Detta projekt syftar till att utveckla ett nyttrengöringsverktyg för att minska framåtlutad, roterad kroppsställning.Denna avhandling har använt en produktutvecklingsmetodik och en biomekaniskanalys för att uppfylla en faktabas för att nå målet. Översyn av litteratur,biomekanisk analys och benchmarking användes för att ställa inkravspecifikationer för detta projekt. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva unga människors upplevelser av att leva med en inflammatorisk tarmsjukdom (IBD), samt att beskriva hur sjukdomen påverkar livskvaliteten. Vidare var syftet att beskriva artiklarnas kvalitet utifrån den metodologiska aspekten urval.Metod: Beskrivande litteraturstudie baserad på 14 vetenskapliga artiklar, som söktes i databaserna Cinahl och PubMed via Högskolan i Gävle. Sökorden som användes var: Inflammatory bowel disease, Quality of life, Chronic disease, Experience och Adolescents. Sökningarna var begränsade inom publiceringsåren 2009 - 2013.Huvudresultat: De unga människorna upplevde många olika besvärande symtom som sågs som ett hinder till ett ?normalt? liv, och symtomen visade sig ha ett samband med ungdomarnas sömnkvalitet samt ångest och depression.

This quantitative survey aims to highlight the impact of the meeting with the grief for customer advisers and representatives of funeral homes connected to the SBF (Sveriges Begravningsbyråers förbund). It also aims to demonstrate any differences between the sexes on this subject. Issues include: How does the person experience expectations and requirements in relation to their professional role? Does the person experience a personal impact due to the encounter with grief and death in their profession, in what way and to what extent? What consequences does the expectations, reactions and the possible impact result in for that person? What conditions does the person have to help cope with the professional role? Is there a gender difference in this experience? The theory base, which consists of theories taken from The Managed Heart: The commercialization of Human Feeling by Arlie Hochschild (2003) and descriptions taken from Yrke: begravningsentreprenör. Om utanförskap, döda kroppar, riter och professionalisering by Anna Davidsson Bremborg (2002), has been fundamental in both the preparatory work and the analysis.
