In this thesis an explorative study was undertaken with the aim to study how a number of private care providers, as well as politicians and officials from councils in and around the Stockholm and Uppsala counties, think about the future of the Swedish elderly care from a property perspective, i.e. homes for the elderly. The analysis shows that there is a demand for capacity in 6 out of 16 municipalities, and that the property is an important part of this capacity, and the fulfillment of it. This was mainly due to the cost of capital, but also because of several other factors such as lack of land, a wish to guide the design, ideology, and in many cases a wish to use the property as an instrument of domination to control private health care providers.Also, the property was show to be connected to economic competition, to freedom of choice, and to quality. The problems related to the property in the market for elderly care still remains to be solved.

Problemet med spelares oförutsägbarhet i sina val är något som spelutvecklare ständigt har försökt lösa. Idag finns det flera tekniker som syftar till att diskret manipulera möjligheten till val inom spel och samtidigt låta spelare vara ovetande om detta.

Colours have been proven to have both a great physical and psychological impact on human beings. This essay investigates the rebranding of 37 Health Care Centers, located in Norrbotten, Sweden, and how 10 interviewees have experienced the new choice of colour on the logotypes of these Health Care Centers.The theoretical framework used in this research process, consists of theories related to rebranding, the communication process, encoding/decoding and Goethe?s Theory of Colours.To gather information about how the 10 inhabitants have experienced the new choice of colour, a semistructured form of interview was used. In addition to these interviews, three people employed by Norrbotten County Council (NLL) were interviewed, to get to know more about the rebranding process and the message behind the chosen colours of the logotype.Results show that the inhabitants had an overall positive reaction to the new colour choices, but that younger target groups lacked information about the new logotype and the rebranding.Due to these results, recommendations were made that NLL should expand the quantity of media channels to reach these younger target groups, and thereby be able to attract more patients to their Health Care Centers. NLL would also profit from investigating the inhabitants experiences related to the new colour choices themselves, but in a larger scale, to achieve greater knowledge of how to proceed with colour choices in the future..

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate whether or not tattoos have an impact on perceived customer satisfaction. We constructed an experiment where a service worker's physical appearance was manipulated. Our result indicates no significant impact of tattoos on customer satisfaction. However, the thesis succeeds to replicate previous findings on the links between physical attractiveness, attitude and customer satisfaction, and creates a ground for further discussion on the subject of tattoos in a professional environment..

På uppdrag av Mälarenergi har jag skapat ett undervisningsmaterial som behandlar vatten- och avloppsreningsprocessen. Undervisningsmaterialet består av en saga som beskriver vad som händer när vi använder toaletten som sopnedkast samt en lärarhandledning som innehåller experiment där barnen själva är delaktiga i undervisningen. Syftet är att göra eleverna miljömedvetna och att man inte ska använda avloppet som sopnedkast. Förhoppningsvis sprider miljöengagerade elever sin kunskap vidare till sin omgivning och miljöengagemanget grundläggs tidigt hos barn/elev..

One of the teachers worked at an elementary school (for 30 years), three teachers worked at middle schools (20, 10 and 8 years of work experience) and two of the teachers interviewed worked at a high school (30 and 3 years).  ResultsThe majority of teachers feel that a wide variety of activities, adapted to an individual level, and the understanding of a healthy lifestyle are important in order for the teacher to present the value of physical activity from a lifelong perspective.The teachers felt they had sufficient material in order to present the value of physical activity, where the school budget provided the teachers with materials every year. Developments in milk production are heading towards fewer but larger herds where the milking process is often fully automated. Automatic milking systems were launched in the 1990?s and in the year 2010 the Automatic Milking Rotary (AMR) was introduced. As a rule there are no supervision personnel present during the milking event in systems with automatic milking. This means that there is a risk that cows can be incompletely milked in one or more udder quarters, for example if the robots fail in attaching the milking cups or if the cow kicks off the milking unit.

Do the commercials influence the consumptionbehaviour? Do the commercials influence the lifestyle? Do the influences of the commercial construct the individual lifestyle? In which extent is it social related?Material/Method: Together with literature studies, a qualitative method has been used with 5 interviews with young adults in the age of 19-25 in Uppsala. I have compared these five interviews with earlier results and research.Main Results: I have found out that these young adults don?t want to admit being influenced by commercials even if they know they are. These young adults have also formed consumptionbehaviour after the commercials, which they show in for example their way of shopping and their way of acting afterwards.

This thesis, titled ?Change, choice and conditions?, is written by Lina Skantze and Bianca Zandén. The study explores the process in which individuals? attempt to end their criminal career, focusing on the interplay between path of life, choices, and conditions. The method is qualitative, and the empirical material consists of interviews with four young adults that all have experience of criminality.

The interest for alternative forest regeneration methods increased significantly during the 1990´s after 50 years dominance of the clear-cutting system (Holgén & Hånell 2000). One reason for this was that clear-cutting was being more and more questioned by different envi-ronmental organizations and because the forest sector for economical reasons wanted to find cheaper ways to regenerate forests. In the beginning of the 1990´s two shelterwood experi-ments were established in a joint effort by Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget (SCA) and the Dept of Silviculture, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). The experiments include various forms of cutting and shelterwood densities and represent productive spruce forests in central and north Sweden (Roggsjön in the province of Medelpad and Skikkis-jöberg in the province of Västerbotten, respectively ). The experiment next to Roggsjön has been reported earlier in three MSc theses, and is also the focus of this thesis.

Föreliggande uppsats syftar till att, utifrån relevanta teorier, beskriva, analysera och jämföra marknadsföringen av och genomslaget hos två konsertserier på Kulturhuset i Stockholm. För att se hur arbetsprocessen skiljer sig åt utifrån olika faktorer, är analysobjekten valda med tanke på deras skillnader i musikgenre och omfattning. "The Critic´s Choice" är fyra konserter med nutida konstmusik, "Konserter att pausa till" är tre konserter inom singer/songwriter-genren. Då internt samarbete ses som en allt viktigare faktor för en lyckad extern insats, har jag också tittat närmare på hur produktions- och marknadsenheterna förhåller sig till varandra. De teoretiska utgångspunkterna är således hämtade ur forskningsområdena intern kommunikation, marknadsföring och publicitet.Uppsatsen använder sig utav kvalitativ fallstudiemetodik, och baserar sig främst på enskilda intervjuer med fem anställda på Kulturhuset: de båda producenterna för respektive projekt, programchefen, marknadschefen samt den informationssekreterare som är marknadsansvarig för programavdelningen.Resultaten visar att det allmänt råder vissa meningsskiljaktigheter mellan enheterna, vilket kan förklaras med att de olika enheterna har olika slags kompetenser, erfarenheter och syn på marknadsföring.

Approximately 4000-5000 hectares, of SCA´s forest land area in Västerbotten, are in need of pre-commercial thinning (PCT) every year. Within the management district, the areas annually treated with PCT must increase, in order to decrease the area with an urgent need for PCT. This can be done by employing more forest workers or entrepreneurs, by mechanized PCT or by an extended season for PCT. Positive experiences from a private forest owner, who started to carry out PCT when the first snow came and then continued for several months, gave an idea to investigate the possibilities to prolong the season of PCT. The purpose of this experiment was to compare PCT carried out when there was snow on the ground with PCT performed when there was no snow on the ground.

The purpose of this study was to gain greater knowledge of how preschool teachers and children using an experimental- and activity box in biology. To find this out, I have used the participant observation method and semi-structured interviews since my study is qualitative. The result of the work led to a greater understanding of the biologybox. It was shown that preschool teachers' involvement is very important for children and that the biologybox contained good and inspiring materials. Although educators desired that there was more material to choose from as well as the usage time of the biologybox should be longer than 3 weeks..
