Det framkommer i bakgrunden att årligen drabbas cirka 30 000 människor av stroke och en tredjedel av dessa får afasi. Kommunikativt samspel är basen för ömsesidig förståelse inom vården och det är detta samspel afasidrabbade har svårt att få ta del av. Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur patienter med afasi upplever sin situation i vården. Metoden som användes var en kvalitativ litteraturstudie och baserades på skönlitterära böcker författade av personer som har överlevt stroke och drabbats av afasi. Analysen genomfördes enligt Graneheim och Lundmans tolkning av innehållsanalys.

The purpose of this study was to, by using thematic analysis, investigate how psychologists experience and are affected by treating sexually assaulted individuals, if and how they use different coping strategies to maintain their own wellbeing and how they are affected by the organization. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight psychologists working in a clinic dedicated for patients with history of sexual assault. The analysis identified one general theme and four themes. The general theme Consciousness and active choices minted the other themes. Participants' awareness of their own and colleagues? health supplied conditions for inner reflection, which along with concern for potential negative effects resulted in active choices for mental health and work environment.

ABSTRACTBackground: People with colorectal cancer undergoing rectum amputation get a permanent colostomy, which affects the social life. It may be valuable for health care what these people experience living with colostomy in order to provide the greatest possible support. Objective: The aim of this study is to describe how people who received a colostomy experience their daily lives and the support they have received from the health services.Method: Qualitative interview study with six people, with a descriptive phenomenological approach.Results: The analysis of the interviews about how it's like to live with a colostomy resulted in three themes: 1) Living with a colostomy gives an uncertainty that affect the social life, 2) Physical and psychological impact of getting a colostomy and 3) Support for health care and relatives.Conclusion: Subjects had a positive attitude towards life, which contributed to that they could adjust to living with a colostomy and feel a meaningfulness of life. The study shows that all the interviewed people overall were satisfied with the information provided by the healthcare personnel. It was good with both oral and written information and very appreciated with repeated information. One aspect that could be improved was the information given aboute the closure of anus during surgery and the following complications.

The aim of this masters thesis is to examine the supply of magazines and periodicals for young people at the library. We also examine young peoples reading of magazines and periodicals and compare the librarys selection with what young people read. The main questions of this thesis are: What do young people do at the library on their spare time? What weekly magazines and periodicals do young people read? What range of magazines and periodicals do the city- and the school library have? Where is the department located and how is it designed? What kind of relationship is there between young peoples reading and the selection? To answer these questions we have done an interview with a librarian and a questionnaire among 13-16 year old children. We found that it is not often that young people read their magazines and periodicals at the library.

Bakgrund: Att anhöriga till närstående med svår sjukdom upplever ett behov av stöd visar många studier på. För att på bästa sätt kunna lämna detta stöd är det viktigt att ta reda på hur de anhöriga upplever erhållet stöd. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva anhörigas upplevelse av stöd i samband med närståendes svåra sjukdom. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie baserad på granskning av artiklar. Studien är genomförd med en kvalitativ ansats.

Sammanfattning: Många människor dör på en institution av något slag. Dessa människor har rätt att förvänta sig bästa möjliga välbefinnande under den sista tiden av sitt liv. För vårdaren som arbetar inom den palliativa vården ställer detta stora krav. Studiens syfte var att belysa de kvaliteter hos vårdaren som kan medföra välbefinnande för patienten i den palliativa vården. Metoden som användes var litteraturstudie.

Demens är en allmän benämning på olika sjukdomstillstånd i hjärnan. Några symtom vid svår demens är minnesstörning, oförmåga att tala, oro och aggressivitet. Musik är en naturlig ingrediens i livet. Studier visar att svårt dementa personer med ett oroligt och aggressivt beteende lugnar ner sig signifikant med hjälp av musik. Syftet med studien var att beskriva musikens positiva effekter i omvårdnaden för personer med svår demens.

Hälsa är ett begrepp som har avsaknad av en bestämd definition. Det finns flertalet erkända definitioner såsom WHO:s men det finns även de definitioner som skapats av den enskilda individen. De flesta definitioner som finns kring och om hälsa har sitt ursprung i den fysiska aktivitetens värld, än dock menar flera personer att om hälsa enbart skall ses som god utifrån den fysiska aktiviteten så blir begreppet hälsa inte särskilt innehållsrikt. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur lärarna ser på begreppet hälsa. Enligt bakgrund och tidigare forskning så är hälsa ett personligt och svårdefinierat begrepp, vilket de sex lärare som intervjuades i denna kvalitativa studie bekräftade.

The Effects of dietary biotin supplementation on hoof health in Swedish dairy cows - a controlled cohort field study. The aim of the present degree project was to investigate the effects of biotin supplementation on hoof health in dairy cows. The experiment was performed as a controlled cohort study in three commercial farms in western Sweden from January 2002 to October 2002. The cows were all housed in cubicle systems with transponder concentrate feeding systems. Within each farm the cows were allocated to either biotin or control treatment. The biotin groups received 20 mg of biotin per cow and day, starting 14 days before expected calving.

The aim of this report is to create an easily accessible guide to basic hygiene, cleaning and disinfection within the small animal practice. It is based on a literature study, using mainly research from the public health sector, due to the lack of relevant scientific reports within the veterinary field. To prevent the spread of infectious diseases it is important that the staff understands the importance of basic hygiene. Hand hygiene and disinfection and cleaning with water and detergent combined are the most important routines to prevent spreading of disease. In conclusion the differences between the veterinary and the public health sector are small, but some basic differences exist due to the nature of the patient?s needs.

This study aims to examine preschool teachers' thoughts about the child libraries functions. The purpose is to highlight preschool children's early read and writing skills, before they even can read and write, which is a theory called emergent literacy.This is made by conducting five qualitative interviews, with the intention to investigate how the preschool teachers think about the cooperation and the function of the child library, partly for their own work with the children and partly for their organization. By using a tablechart which shows each preschool teachers mostly common thoughts in the interview and by using a model based upon Harrysson and Joelsson (2006) model, which shows the functions of the public library in the society. The results of the study are presented in the four categories of the model which are; to borrow, to learn, to ask and to find, to reside. These are functions that the preschool teachers see with the library, for their work with the childrens' early literacy.

Prostatacancer är den vanligaste cancerformen hos män och drabbar i genomsnitt 8000 personer per år. För de drabbade männen kan vardagslivet förändras, både på grund av cancersjukdomen och av behandlingen. Behandlingen kan leda till komplikationer som inkontinens och impotens vilket kan påverka mannens fysiska existens, sociala identitet och trygghet. Studiens teoretiska referensram utgår från Cullbergs kris- och utvecklingsteori. Studiens syfte var att belysa hur man upplever livet efter diagnosen prostatacancer.
