When young people are placed in residential care, the staff have a responsibility to ensure that the youth have a safe environment where they can thrive and develop. Residential staff also have responsibilities to ensure the rights of youth during the residential care. This study aims to examine how staff consider themselves to treat the youth in residential care. Furthermore the study aims to examine how the staff consider themselves to ensure youth their right to be heard and have an impact on their own lives, in agreement with Article 12 of the UN convention on the rights of the child (CRC). A qualitative method has been used in order to answer the study's purpose and issues.

The aim with this study is to study how young children?s influence expresses itself in some educators? stories about their work with children. The study also looks at the relations between pedagogues? approaches to children and aims at identifying the educator?s perspectives of children. To get to know more about this I have interviewed five pedagogues who work with children in the ages of 3-6 years in different fields at a preschool area in India.The result shows that childrens? influence and participation for the educators involves children selecting activities.

The aim of this study was to describe and scrutinise the position of the Swedish government on whether children should participate directly or through a representative in judicial proceedings.The main questions for this study were to find out (1) what position the Swedish government has on the subject, (2) how the position is justified, and (3) what view on children the position reflects.A qualitative design was used in the study and in order to describe the position a descriptive method was used. In the second part of the study a critical approach was used to examine and analyse the position.The main conclusions were that the position is ambiguous but that it mainly reflects, with a few exceptions, that it is better for children to be represented than to participate directly in judicial proceedings. The arguments that are given as basis for the position are short and lack both the objective and subjective grounds needed to decide the best interest of the child. The analysis of the position showed that it mainly reflects a view on children as objects and when the statement reflects a view on children as subjects, it relates to age and maturity in the child..

The aim with this study was to give and receive an insight of children?s participation during one day in a preschool. Answers we were interested in finding out were how pedagogues act in relation to children´s influence, participation and interests and how this shows in the pedagogical context. Our own interest of children´s participation was influenced by the new revised curriculum that took place in 2010. Nowadays the pedagogues? have to be more active and reflect and document children´s influence and participation, and therefore we wanted to use this opportunity to create a picture of how pedagogues deal with these new guidelines.We have with an ethnographic inspired approach performed a qualitative study with data collected during one day with focus on children´s influence, participation and interest in one preschool section.According to the result children?s participation and influence this day were controlled by the pedagogue.

We wanted to know if they had a secure or insecure attachment to their parents and if the attachment was affected after a time at Hassela. We were interested in what kind of attachment figures they had before they came to Hassela, Gotland and how they looked at themselves and others before they came there and if that had been changed.We used a qualitative method and we did ten interviews with youths who had been at Hassela, Gotland eight months or longer. We based our analysis on the attachment theory.

My purpose with this study was to research how a few teachers work with the children in preschool class to achieve a group that the children feel safe and comfortable with. Every human being has got the need to feel safe and with this study I want to illustrate the importance about working to achieve safety for children in preschool class, and environment that is new to them. In order to try to get answers to my research questions I have interviewed five preschool class teachers. The results showed that the teachers work in a way that makes the children feel safe by helping them establish the daily routines and common rules for the preschool class. They also let the children in the preschool class get to know each other and other children in the school by play and shared activities.

Varje år kommer många invandrare från olika länder runt om i världen till Sverige med olika språk, kultur, synsätt och traditioner. Detta medför kommunikationsvårigheter i mötet med myndigheter såsom hälso- och sjukvården. Syftet med den här studien är att beskriva distriktssköterskans upplevelser av att möta utländska föräldrar inom barnhälsovården. Arbetets metod är en explorativ design med en kvalitativ ansats. Sammanlagt intervjuades åtta BVC distriktssköterskor vilka hade långa erfarenheter inom barnhälsovården.  Distriktssköterskorna valdes från tre vårdcentraler inom invandrartäta områden.

The food industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Swedish e-commerce today. However, e-commerce still represents a very small part of the total food sales in Sweden. Experts have noted that, in order for e-commerce to expand in this field, Internet food sales must increase.The aim of this study is to form an understanding of why Swedes do not purchase more food products online. The theoretical framework consists of various marketing theories concerning consumer behavior and the acceptance of new innovations. The methodology used for the purpose of this study has a qualitative approach and in order to answer the questions at hand two focus groups were assembled.

Primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) is an important but unusual cause of chronic respiratory disease of young dogs. The purpuse of this paper is to study and present internationally publicated papers on PCD in dogs and present three dogs, in which PCD was suspected. PCD has been reported in many dog breeds as well as in people. In dogs an humans, PCD is caused by inborn genetical defects which causes structural and functional abnormalities of cilia in the respiratory organs and other cilia in the body. Situs inversus occurs in about half the cases in people and probably in dogs as well. Respiratory signs usually predominate.

Barnavårdscentralen (BVC) är en frivillig men väl socialt accepterad del av barnhälsovården i Sverige. Behovet av stöd på BVC har förändrats över tid och nu dominerar de psykosociala behoven. Barn är beroende av vuxnas omsorg. Eftersom en stor andel av förskolebarnen träffar en BVC-sjuksköterska har hon en viktig roll i att identifiera och hjälpa barn som är utsatta för omsorgssvikt. Syftet med studien är att undersöka BVC-sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att möta familjer där de misstänker att barn kan vara utsatta för omsorgssvikt och hur de upplever de resurser de har till sitt förfogande för att hjälpa barn och familj.En kvalitativ metod med induktiv ansats valdes och åtta BVC-sjuksköterskor intervjuades.

Inledning: Syftet med studien var att ta reda på hur en metod för neuropsykiatriska utredningar upplevdes av de föräldrar som deltagit i den. Utredningsmetoden kallas TA-C, eng. Therapeutic Assessment with Child. I den sätts särskilt värde till delaktighet och den terapeutiska potentialen.Frågeställningar: 1: Vad var föräldrarnas anledning att söka utredning? Hur beskrev föräldrar sig delaktiga i den neuropsykiatriska utredningen av deras barn? Hur var utredningen till hjälp att förstå sitt barn?Metod: Kvalitativ metod, semistrukturerad intervju, 10 föräldrar som genomgått en form av neuropsykiatrisk utredning för deras barn.Resultat: Resultatet visar att föräldrarna har upplevt betydande delaktighet och förståelse för sitt barn, och kopplar ofta ihop begreppen, som att de har en ömsesidig påverkan.

Families of children with disabilities often have many different contacts with professional representing different principals. This places high demands on their professional work together to meet the needs of families and use resources efficiently. The method used is a literature review which aims to describe what is needed to achieve good collaboration between different professions around families with children with disabilities, and that from an organizational perspective to examine why there are often gaps in collaboration and how this affects the parents' life situation.The theories in this study originated from organizational and sociological theories. The most central concept in this study is collaboration from an organizational perspective. The results show that the interaction is problematic, due to that collaborative organizations often have rules which are incompatible and a lack of accountability on who is liable makes impairment in the interaction.

Introduktion: Föräldrar till överviktiga barn behöver stöd och hjälp för att kunnamedverka och stötta sitt barn att nå en hälsosam vikt. För att sjuksköterskan skall kunnage detta stöd behöver hon ha kunskaper om mångfalden i hur föräldrar ser på dettaproblem.Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva föräldrars uppfattning av sitt barns vikt och vilkenkunskap föräldrar har om övervikt och fetma hos barn.Metod: Litteraturstudie med fokus på föräldrars uppfattning och kunskap om överviktoch fetma hos sitt förskolebarn.Resultat: I litteraturgenomgången framkom att föräldrar hade svårigheter att rättbedöma sitt barns vikt och ofta undertolkade barnets vikt. Föräldrar kunde inte alltidförstå viktkurvorna som används inom hälsovården. Många föräldrar trodde att barnetskulle växa ifrån sin övervikt och kände därför ingen oro över eventuella problem.Föräldrarna identifierade sina döttrars övervikt lättare än sina söners övervikt. Papporhade svårare än mammor att identifiera övervikten hos sitt barn och såg inte alltid attbarnet var överviktigt.

Hämning (Behavior Inhibition) tycks utgöra en riskfaktor för olika typer av ångestsyndrom. Child Inhibition Scale (CIS) är ett föräldraformulär som mäter hämning hos barn. Syftet med studien är att normera samt att psykometriskt utpröva den svenska versionen av CIS mot ett föräldraformulär som mäter generell ångest hos barn och ungdomar Multidimensional Anxiety Scale for Children ? Parent version (MASC-P). I studien ingår skolor från fem områden i Storstockholm.
