This essay aims to examine and compare the attitudes of decision makers in the local government and representatives of pensioners in two different geographic areas. The main questions were:- their attitudes towards the "stay home principle" (kvarboendeprincipen, a principle that aims to make it possible for people with a handicap, disease or age to stay in their homes instead of moving to nursing homes).- their attitudes towards nursing homes for old people- their attitudes towards the possibility of staying at home when you are old and handicapped and in need of care.The essay is built on qualitative research methods, based on interviews and on a review of research in the field.The author found a complex picture of attitudes. Everybody thinks that the best is to live in your own home as long as possible, except from those who live with Alzheimer´s disease. They showed different opinions on the issue of the need for moving to nursing homes. This might result in forcing people to stay at home.

Bakgrund: I Sverige drabbas mer än 50000 personer av cancer varje år. Ca 35 % av all cancer går inte att bota, och vården blir palliativ. Även de närstående påverkas, och är i behov av stöd från sjukvården.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka upplevelsen och behovet av stöd inom den onkologiska slutenvården för närstående till patienter med cancer i palliativt skede som inte är anslutna till hemsjukvård eller hospice.Metod: Studien är utförd utifrån en kvalitativ ansats och är baserad på sju intervjuer där resultatet har bearbetats med stöd av en kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Resultat: Närstående upplever sig i stort erhålla ett gott stöd från den onkologiska slutenvården. Viktigast upplevs att som närstående bli sedd och bekräftad, samt att erhålla lagom mängd information löpande under vårdtiden. Detta, tillsammans med ett gott stöd från familj och vänner, gör att närstående känner sig trygga.

The purpose of this study was to describe perceived psychosocial work environment and musculoskeletal complaints among baggage handlers, and to evaluate whether there is any linear relationship between them. The study is a questionnaire based cross-sectional study, and part of an ongoing larger project. Therefore, the number of forms has been limited to those that were collected in the project by 2010-11-25 (N=117). The questions analyzed in the study come from the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire and ?Nordiska Ministerrådets formulär om besvär i rörelseorganen?, respectively.

Inledning: Forskning visar att smärta vid stora trauman är underbehandlat, vilket kan ge ett förlängt sjukdomsförlopp och leda till komplikationer för patienten. Smärtbedömning är en viktig del i smärtbehandlingen och kan göras med hjälp av observationer av fysisk status och smärtskattningsinstrument. Eftersom ett stort trauma även innebär en psykologisk påfrestning för patienten är det viktigt att lindra både smärtan och det psykiska lidandet.Syfte: Att beskriva ambulanssjuksköterskors uppfattningar om traumapatienters upplevelser av smärta samt beskriva ambulanssjuksköterskors erfarenheter av smärtbehandling och omvårdnadsåtgärder som lindrar lidande hos dessa patienter.Metod: En intervjustudie med elva ambulanssjuksköterskor. Intervjuerna analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Resultat: Ambulanssjuksköterskans arbete vid smärtlindring vid stort trauma präglades av avvägningar och prioriteringar. Dessa gjordes utifrån ambulanssjuksköterskans egna bedömningar samt de riktlinjer som fanns inom ambulanssjukvården.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att undersöka tillgänglig litteratur beträffande taktil beröring som alternativ smärtbehandlingsmetod samt vilka effekter taktil beröring har på patientens smärtupplevelse och för vårdgivande personal. Metoden som användes var Goodmans modell för evidensbaserad litteraturgranskning. Tio artiklar granskades enligt kriterier av Polit och Beck (2006) samt Willman et al (2006). Resultat visar vikten av beröring som metod för minskning av smärta, samt andra effekter som förbättrad sinnestämning och ökad livskvalitet hos patienter. Positiva och negativa effekter av beröringsbehandling för vård-personalen har tagits upp i några inkluderade studier..

The aim of this Master's thesis is to examine and analyze what discourses about children that can be found in three Swedish culture publications, and also to identify the different social roles that are attributed to children in these publications. The theoretical and methodological background is discourse theory, as described by Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe. Additional theory used is social constructionism and Norman Fairclough?s critical discourse theory. Three questions are asked: What discourse/s can be found in these publications? What do these discourses tell us about the view on children within the library domain? What social roles are attributed to the children in the texts and what consequences do these have for the power configuration between children and adults? Furthermore there is a discussion concerning what effects these discourses might have on the direct and indirect reception of children in the library.
