Bakgrund: Intensivvårdssjuksköterskans yrke är utmanande, fartfyllt och stressigt det har många studier visat i sina resultat. Kraven på sjuksköterskan är stora och arbetet karaktäriseras av multisjuka patienter som ofta behöver snabba akuta insatser för att överleva. För att bättre kunna hantera stressen använder sig sjuksköterskan av olika copingstrategier. Den arbetsrelaterade stressen påverkar också privatlivet.Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka vad intensivvårdssjuksköterskor upplever som stress på arbetet, hur de hanterar den stressen och hur privatlivet påverkas.Metod: Designen var en deskriptiv studie med kvalitativ ansats. Tio intensivvårdssjuksköterskor på en neurokirurgisk intensivvårdsavdelningen på ett universitetssjukhus i Mälardalen intervjuades med semistrukturerade frågor och textmaterialet analyserades med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Resultat: Tre teman framkom ur materialet: (1) arbetets organisation och struktur påverkar intensivvårdssjuksköterskan, (2) intensivvårdssjuksköterskans hantering, reflektion och bearbetning av stress och (3) intensivvårdssjuksköterskans upplevelser och känslor vid stress.Slutsats: För att sjuksköterskan ska må bra, behålla sin hälsa och få arbetstillfredsställelse så behövs det balans mellan arbete och fritid.

Domestication has resulted in the ability for animals to adapt to environments created by the human over time. The behavior differs very little between wild and domesticated animals, but the difference seen is how often and to what degree a behavior is performed. The need for efficiency in modern animal production has led to welfare problems in the productionsystems where the animals have difficulties coping with their environment. Attempts to environmentally adapt individuals by selection for reduced frequency of natural behaviours have been made. These have shown that natural behaviours are complex and are controlled by several different mechanisms, making selection for reduced natural behavior difficult, and it may also lead to unwanted and abnormal behaviours.

The aim of the study was to describe how anaesthetic nurses, within both advanced beginner and expert levels, experience their professional role as they perform a general anaesthetic.The study had a descriptive design with a qualitative approach in which ten advanced beginners- and ten expert anaesthetic nurses from an operating theatre and an ambulatory surgical ward at a hospital located in the middle of Sweden, participated. All data was collected in an interview with semi-structured questions which focused on how the anaesthetic nurses experience their work. The data were analysed with qualitative content analysis. The results are presented in categories and themes. The themes were formed from the categories.

Syfte: Föreliggande litteraturstudies syfte var att belysa sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av deras arbete i den palliativa vården. Problemformuleringen grundades av att författarna anser att det inte läggs så stor vikt vid palliativ vård i undervisningen i grundutbildningen för sjuksköterskor och att sjuksköterskor möter patienter i ett palliativt skede nästan överallt i vården och förhoppningen är att studien ska leda till ökad förståelse för sjuksköterskans arbetssituation. Metod: Databassökningar gjordes i ELIN@kalmar, Cinahl, PubMed och PsycInfo med sökorden palliative care, caring, nursing, nurse, hospice, work, support, experience, specialist, district nurse. Ytterligare sökningar gjordes sent i arbetet med andra sökord i Cinahl och PubMed. Efter granskning inkluderades totalt 10 artiklar.

The electric vehicle market has potential to contribute to Sweden?s national goal to have a fossil fuel independent transport sector by 2030. However, the market answers to a lot of challenges making it difficult for the market to fully reach its potential. The volume of electric vehicles has seen a steady increase during the last year (2012), although many of these vehicles are mostly for PR purposes or bought by the public sector that wants to lead by example. Still, barriers in the form of high purchase costs, an anxiety for the limited battery capacity and the lack of standardisation are some of the problems that the market is struggling to solve.

Purpose: The purposes of the current study were to investigate whether there were any differences in the perceptual ability between professional and non-professional ice-hockey players and whether professional players are better at distinguishing, paying attention to and concentrating on what is important during intense physical activity. Method: Twenty male ice-hockey players (10 from both the Swedish first and third divisions) participated in the study. Wingate test were used for physiological measurements while three psychological tests were presented in front of the participants. Stroop, Flanker and Fast counting tests were used to measure perceptual and coping abilities during intense physical activity and the differences between the two groups. Results: Fast counting and Flanker word 2 tests showed a significant difference between the two groups, whereby the professional groups was faster and more accurate than the non-professional group in answering.

Today, youth crime is a topic that recurs daily in the news and politics; the subject arouses motions both within the professional community and among private individuals. The purpose of this study was to shed light on how social workers reason and work with young people aged 15 and above who are in criminal environments. We also shed light on how motivation can contribute to young people accepting the voluntary interventions that social workers have available. The study helps draw attention to the potential challenges that social services face when motivational work is insufficient, and the concern is not sufficiently high to warrant the use of coercive interventions. Our empirical material was collected using semi-structured interviews with social workers who have a degree of Bachelor's degree in Social Work, whose work is to carry out investigations of young people who, due to their own behavior, may be in need of support or protection from social services.

This essay studies the practice of both the political and the administrative leadership at the municipal level from the point of view of the politicians and the chief officers leadership role, and the relationship between politicians and administrators. I discuss and analyse how politicians and senior officials practice leadership, differences or similarities and if their practice of leadership raises any challenges in a democratic framework at the municipal level. I conducted interviews with the municipal political leader and the head of administration at the municipal level in Karlshamn and Sölvesborg. In the analysis I discuss communication as a leadership process which highlights ?enabling elements? and potentials of the leadership process.

This Master?s thesis has governmental cultural policy in focus and concludes a textual idea analysis of the governmental bill Time for culture. (Tid för kultur.) The aim of the study is to examine how the government is seeking legitimacy concerning the cultural policy. One of the starting points is that the society has changed over time in terms of for example increased globalization and multicultural and even the market adjustment is more evident. Also the economical basis in the society is different nowadays.

To plan and build a garden in Dubai has other conditions and challenges than what you experience in Sweden. The heat, wind and lack of water makes the need for durable plants, a good design and landscaping important if you want to have the opportunity to use your garden during most of the year. The soil is poor of nutrients, alkaline and sometimes saline, witch makes supplying the soil with organic material and various fertilizers necessary if you want to be able to plant a bigger range of plant material in your garden. Another important part is to provide your garden with a good irrigation system that should be put into the ground before planting so that the plants are given a more even irrigation. It?s relatively green scenery you meet and to me it?s in a way surprising since the country with its climate is rather harsh for the purpose of supporting plant life.

Psykisk ohälsa påverkar inte bara individen negativt utan även hela samhället med höga kostnader för vård och sociala system som följd. Stress är en av orsakerna till att den psykiska ohälsan ökar i Sverige idag. Detta sker främst bland ungdomar, unga vuxna och bland kvinnor. Hur stress påverkar individen beror på kapacitet att handskas med olika situationer som uppstår detta kallas copingstrategier. Denna studies syfte är att undersöka om könstillhörighet påverkar val av copingstrategi samt att se vilka copingstrategier som är mest förekommande hos studenter på en högskola i Mellansverige.Metoden som används är en kvantitativ studie med ett ändamålsenligt urval.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka i vilken utsträckning alkoholkonsumtion hos studenter predicerades av kön, personlighet (bestående av impulsivitet, social hämning och negativ affektivitet) samt motiv till alkoholkonsumtion (bestående av stämningshöjande, coping, konformitet och sociala motiv). Tidigare forskning indikerar att dessa prediktorer, med undantag av social hämning, negativ affektivitet och konformitetsmotiv, samvarierar med alkoholkonsumtion. 123 kvinnliga och 43 manliga lärarstudenter vid Växjö universitet ingick i vår studie. Fyra beprövade enkäter sammanställdes till en enkät som användes för insamling av all data. En multipel regressionsanalys visade att män rapporterar en högre alkoholkonsumtion än kvinnor och att impulsivitet, stämningshöjande- samt copingmotiv predicerar alkoholkonsumtion.

Our everyday life is becoming more active and the activities we perform influence the way we dress. Due to an increase in activities undertaken in an urban environment, demands are changing and the need for active wear that meets the new demands follow suit. The four characters represented in the research can be seen as a reflection of the functional features needed, including base layer, mid layer/insulation and shell.Despite the increase in activities, most of our clothes are still constructed on static dummies or drafted on a table in 2D and the main developments within the active sportswear field is driven by material innovation. By creating garments on a body in movement, my aim is to develop new functions and expression in active sportswear through construction.Construction methods in active sportswear are examined and understood through observations and reconstructions and constitute the foundation of a study of movement for a design recovery.The movement and features required for leading an active urban life sets the direction of the development of new func- tional garments. A series of trial and error sessions and draping fabric on a live model in movement created the prototypes used in functionality tests to establish their feasibility.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the unaccompanied children's experiences of the support offered at group homes intended for this group. The purpose is also to find out if they feel like the stay at the group home has prepared them for an independent life. The study has a qualitative approach and results collection occurred through semi-structured interviews. Seven young men aged 18-20 years were interviewed, all of them have lived for at least one year in a group home and are now living in their own apartment. The results have shown that the adolescents had both positive and negative experiences from their stay at the group home and that they have different views about whether they have received the support they need to cope independently.

The purpose of this study was to explore nurses' experiences of obstructed airways in the prehospital work.A qualitative interview study with a descriptive and explorative design was used. The sample consisted of nine registered nurses whereof three were women and six were men, with or without further education and varying length of experience in the ambulance service.Prehospital personnel builds up a vast plan of action based on the emergency information provided by SOS. Simple methods for managing obstructed airways were stated often enough. Problems with obstructed airways are considered so unusual that it never becomes a routine. Several factors affect the identification and managing of obstructed airways, both external factors and the different patient categories are considered important.
