Mathematics is a central topic in today's education debate, including discussion of its educational quality and various teaching methods. Today basically two different teaching methods are used; one is the textbook based method, with the book in focus and the other one the laboratory method by which teaching is performed through practical applications. The purpose of this study was to examine four primary school teachers' view of these two teaching methods by means of four relevant inquiries. By interviewing the four teachers, advantages and disadvantages were highlighted and the purpose was achieved. In order to support the analysis, two theories applied; the socio-cultural perspective and the cognitive perspective.

Förtätning av städer har blivit en allt mer förekommande lösning på dagens stadsbyggnadsfrågor. När det gäller förtätning och expansion så är Malmö inget undantag. Genom denna typ av åtgärd i redan byggd miljö kan Malmö växa med minst 100 000 invånare inom loppet av en 20-årsperiod. Det medför stora förändringar som kommer att beröra Malmös invånare och andra som är verksamma i staden. När en stad står inför en förtätningsprocess är det ofta friytorna som tas i anspråk och bebyggs. Därmed ökar risken att människors tillgång till gröna närmiljöer går förlorade.

Sammanfattning Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera utvecklingen och strukturen i Helsingborgs stadskärna och på Väla Köpcenter. Detta för att kunna kartlägga om det finns någon strukturmässig skillnad mellan platserna. Norrcity i Helsingborg fick Sveriges första gågata 1961. Efter det har handelstråken i stadsdelen växt och gågatorna utvidgats allt mer. Antalet restauranger och serveringar har ökat drastiskt sen 1970-talet.

A central discussion within society and businesses today, is the change of generations in the business market which occurs within the upcoming years. A change of generations is unavoidable and a natural step in business. The challenge of the forthcoming reform is the large number of people leaving the labour market and the grand entrance of new labour; Generation Y. The characteristics of Generation Y differ from the older generation which enhances the challenges for the businesses to attract a new workforce. It may also be necessary for the organisations to adapt to the younger generation.

In an effort to strengthen democracy in the union, the EU in 2005 took a new approach to communications policy to reach out to the citizens. The strategic document "Plan D for Democracy, Dialogue and Debate" was accompanied by two other documents, and the three of them were the core of this policy. Both democracy and communications work means at EU level a higher complexity than in the nation-state arena. Objective of this study is to examine how the implementation of Plan D has turned out in a democracy renewal perspective. To achieve that answers are sought to questions concerning the goals of Plan D, how they are still present today, what happened in practice regarding the efforts that are highlighted, and how the substance of the activities can be judged from a democratic theory perspective.

Over the years, what people have considered as the center of Stockholm City has gone from the medieval Stortorget in Old Town to the contemporary Sergels Torg. But more recently it has become unclear how the area really works. It is difficult to say where the actual central part of Stockholm lies, because while the Central Station is where the majority of people arrive into town, it is not necessarily close to Sergelstorg (considered the center of town) or other attractive commercial areas. There's also another issue with where the center of Stockholm is located. The railways and roads running along Klarabergs Viaduct acts as a divide between the areas of Kungsholmen and Norrmalm; these rails, roads and water separate the two areas from each other. In response to this problem of area division, a plan is being made to construct a new district near the center to mend the gap between the districts. The idea is that the center of Stockholm city will become more lively and attractive. The plan includes building new housing, commercial areas and a larger terrace called Mälarterrassen. In addition, improved mobility within the area is being planned by having better public transportation lines like City banan and tram named Spårväg City construction, as well as more pedestrian areas shall make the area become a district to thrive in.How the area will actually operate in the future is still unclear and many questions still exist about how the area will be able to compete and, above all, integrate with the other districts. The parts considered to be most important for the area is the scale of residential property and an attractive area that keeps people in the area and to encourages them to pass through the area. Perhaps the best solution would be to have something special planned in this area that can attract people in the community ? a city park, for example?.

Trading financial securities at stock exchanges and other authorized market places is today a particularly important socioeconomic phenomenon in many industrialized countries. A well functioning securities market is crucial for the economic development in these countries. The modern trading with stocks and other financial securities is characterized by the fact that the majority of the transactions at the stock exchanges are carried out through various intermediaries. The ultimate counterparties that are involved in a securities transaction (the seller and the buyer) are often unknown to each other. The anonymity in the securities trading implies several interesting legal problems.

Background: Human interaction by touch plays a central role for our health and well being throughout life. When people touch each other our bodies release a hormone called oxytocin into the bloodstream, this gives the body a soothing effect. CTI- Central Tire Inflation är ett styr- och reglersystem som möjliggör att justera lufttrycket i däcken under färd på virkeslastbilar för att anpassa det till aktuell last och hastighet. Genom att köra med ett lägre däcktryck på virkesfordon är det möjligt att minska kostnaden för skogsbilvägar. SCA Skog vill skapa en CTI-strategi som ska innehålla handlingsplaner för hela kedjan från planering till transport. År 2009 minskade investeringsanslagen för vägar inom SCA Skog och Medelpads skogsförvaltning började bygga vägar som trafikeras av CTI-utrustade fordon. Syftet med arbetet är att utvärdera användningen av CTI åt SCA skog vid Medelpads skogsförvaltning. Datainsamlingen utgjordes av intervjuer med personer vid SCA som har arbetat med CTI någon gång sedan införandet. Totalt intervjuades elva personer. Ett arbetssätt för CTI identifierades.

The purpose of this master's thesis is to discuss how young people view their possibilities of exercising power and influence in Swedish society and politics. To accomplish this we have used several different sorts of relevant material. As an introduction, we review the development of the Swedish research concerning youths, with focus on the development in the last two decades of the twentieth century. We continue with a study of important Swedish youth-political documents, especially of the Government Bill På ungdomars villkor: Ungdomspolitik för demokrati, rättvisa och framtidstro On the terms of the youth: Youth-policy promoting democracy, justice and hopes for the future. The Bill is the foundation of a new youth-policy in Sweden.

AbstractThis study deals with Swedish upper secondary school teachers' approaches to an expanded text concept. Attitudes mediated through media as well as ?the new languages? that media give rise to, imply new conditions for the activities in school. As a necessary adaptation to the new conditions given by the media forces, the Swedish upper secondary school 1994 incorporated ?an expanded text concept? in the syllabus for the Swedish language.The focus of the study is how Swedish upper secondary school teachers' work to meet and challenge the students' in an expanded text concept.
