The thesis was done in collaboration with EAB situated in Smålandsstenar. In the initial discussion faze on doing a thesis with them there was a need to analyze and ensure the strength of an existing product, cantilever racks. This included performing FEM calculations on a model and comparing the results with physical tests.EAB has two models of cantilever racks, a light duty and a heavy duty. Within the heavy duty model series there are five product variants that differ in both size and load capacity. We will be working with the product variant with a load capacity of 1000 kg/arm which is the variant that is in the middle of the series.When we started work on the thesis we did a literature study and couldn?t find any well defined methodology that integrates both product development and computer aided design analysis.

Denna rapport presenterar ett examensarbete på kandidatnivå omfattande 15 högskolepoäng, som genomfördes på Högskolan i Halmstad under vårterminen 2013. Examensarbetet avslutar den tre år långa maskiningenjörsutbildningen med inriktning teknisk design. Projektet genomfördes i samarbete med Macro International AB tillsammans med Ballingslöv, och handledaren på företaget var Jörgen Carlsson. Målet med projektet var att utveckla ett produktförslag för ett badrumsskåp av spegeltyp som skulle passa in i Ballingslövs framtida badsortiment. Det slutliga produktförslaget skulle uppfylla krav som ställdes av uppdragsgivaren, främst med avseende på belysning, utformning, funktion och förvaring.

This degree project has been performed with Mega Teknik AB in Landskrona. The project has resulted in a workplace for the cable installers of Mega Teknik. The workplace contains a workbench and a cart.The first stage in this project was to make an analysis of the current workplace to identify the needs the installers had.The different principle construction proposals of how the workbench would look like and which functions it would have was made during brainstorming, in groups and alone. These proposals were compared against each other using a functional analysis that has been put up to get the principle construction that fulfilled most points in this analysis.The proposal chose for further work was a cart and a bench with a module intends, the table got a formulation that creates a better reach for the installers.This proposal was generated in Catia V5 to get a better overview of the suggested proposal.During the primary structure phase drawings over all the products were made and the components were chosen. Calculations were made and the product got the dimension required.

Examensarbetet utfördes i samarbete med Randek Bautech och hade som syfte att utveckla ett koncept, vilket skulle möjliggöra en sammanslagning av två stationer i deras produktionslinje som för övrigt är deras huvudprodukt. Dessa linjer används främst för tillverkningen av vägg- och takelement. Konceptet skulle även innebära en minskning av cykeltiden för spikstationen.För att få en inblick i hur tillverkningsgången fungerade i nuläget har observationer och intervjuer utförts. Nulägesanalysen har sedan kompletterat de krav och önskemål som företaget hade till att bilda en kravspecifikation. Vidare har författarna använt sig av benchmarking för att få insikt i den senaste tekniken och utvecklingen inom olika branscher, det tillsammans med brainstorming har genererat ett antal möjliga koncept som utvärderats av författarna och handledaren på företaget.

The task was to deliver a solution that could be implemented in today?s production of the FH truck. To make the project successful it was most important that the end result had a high maturity level. For that reason an analysis of ergonomic, laws and regulations, and possible materials where conducted. To show that this project is profitable and can be realized a ruff cost estimated of material and tools is added to the research.

Idag riktas stort fokus på den enskilde soldatens skydd och säkerhet i krigsdrabbade områden runt om i världen. BAE Systems Hägglunds i Örnsköldsvik bidrar till att skydda dessa soldater genom deras splitterskyddade fordon, både genom skydd på fordonen men även genom att öka fordonens tillgänglighet och minska risken att de slås ur funktion. Företaget är idag på väg att utveckla morgondagens terrängfordon kallat SEP. Det nya fordonet har stort fokus på skydd och detta bidrar till att fordonets vikt ökar. Till följd av detta blir dörrar och luckor på fordonet tunga och ibland omöjliga att öppna och stänga för hand beroende på vilken vinkel fordonet står i.

Dooria Sweden AB is one of the main door- and doorframe manufacturers inSweden. They deliver door frames for indoor use for project oriented buildingsites, for these types of building sites the doorpost comes pre-assembled. DooriaAB wants to minimize transport to reduce impact on environment and thetransportation costs of pre-assembled doorframes, this thru simplifying themethod of assembly.The main purpose of this thesis has been to develop a prototype solution thatbrings the three parts of the doorframe together with the same properties regardingstability and tightness of joints as the current method of assembly. A profile ofdemands and wishes were created in collaboration with Mårten Dragstedt, DeputyDirector of Dooria Sverige ABBy following the chosen method the authors have been able to produce a fullyfunctional prototype that meet the demands that were put on the product. Catia V5R20 has been used as an aid during prototype construction and virtual tests.

Detta examensarbete, på 20 högskolepoäng, har genomförts under höstterminen 2006 på Högskolan i Halmstad. Examensarbetet har utförts i samarbete med Electrolux Laundry Systems i Ljungby. Projektet innefattar både produktutveckling och nykonstruktion. Huvuduppgiften med examensarbetet är att utveckla en ny typ av öppning och stängningsanordning till Electrolux större tvättmaskiner med en tvättkapacitet på 40-110 kg. En del av uppgiften var också att förbättra designen och utseendet så att produkten blir mer användarvänlig och tilltalande.Projektet som beskrivs i denna tekniska rapport bygger på en problemidentifiering i form av omfattande användarstudier och marknadsundersökningar.

The initiative for this project was taken by Benteler Engineering Services, as a result of having identified areas of improvement, in designated accessible areas like the wheelchair spot onboard buses. Depending on a wheelchair to be able to move around can understandably be challenging.Public transport is a common good in today`s society, however despite the measures taken towards adjusting to accessible needs, the majority of those being disabled chose different alternatives of transportation. This is due to reasons such as the drivers' poor attitude, furthermore the limitations of the space allocated to accessible needs, as people with strollers also use these spots onboard. Also, some wheelchair users find the rides unsafe, as they could easily fall over during without the appropriate space for them onboard the buses etc. These are only a few reasons why other options are sought out, i.e.

BAE Systems Hägglunds AB använder idag ett ritningsbaserat produktionsunderlag. För att effektivisera produktframtagningsprocessen är företaget intresserad av att undersöka möjligheterna till ett ritningslöst arbetssätt där produktionsunderlaget består av 3D-modellen. I CAE- programmet Catia V5, vilket används på företaget, finns en modul vid namn FTA (Functional Tolerancing & Annotations). I denna modul kan information i form av annoteringar sättas ut på 3D-modellen. Detta arbete syftar kring att undersöka funktionaliteten i FTA-modulen samt undersöka vilken mjuk- och hårdvara som krävs för att ett ritninglöst underlag ska kunna presenteras på företagets olika avdelningar.

This report presents an independent thesis corresponding 15hp and was carried out on Högskolan in Halmstad during the spring of 2014. The thesis is the final course which ends a three-year mechanical engineering program with focus on technical design.The thesis started in an operation which electricians are exposed to every day. The operation in question is cable laying or wiring. The tool they use is called a tension spring and is a long and stiff wire, usually made out of nylon or fiberglass. The tension spring is fed through pipes in the walls and brings the desired cables with it on the way back.

Cykelstölder är ett stort problem i dagens samhälle. I Sverige polisanmäldes 65 700 cykelstölder under 2011. De cykellås som finns på marknaden kan på ett eller annat sätt brytas upp och efter det är cykeln fullt brukbar. Examensarbetets uppdragsgivare hade idéer om ett nytt cykellås som förhindrade cykelns brukbarhet efter uppbrytning av låset. Idén ledde till ett samarbete med uppdragsgivaren, mig och teknikkonsultföretaget, Cross Design.

In cooperation with the Gislaved company Lerocon AB [1], a separation module wasdesigned as a further supplement to the Module System. The aim of theprojectimplementation was that the separation module could be flexible enough to feed themetal pieces, screws, nuts and other items with large variations of size, appearance andmaterial composition. The module should also be cost effective to manufacture.A separation module is a design which is ment to streamline the work in industries withautomation of the lineoperations. The module feeds the details such as screws, nuts, washersand pieces of metal in a continuous flow in which traps separate the details from each other.Traps may vary depending on the purpose and of the details that are fed. Perhaps it isimportant for the user that the detail-orientation is right after the separation module, whichmeans that all the pieces witch aren´t are fed back in return.For companies and industries in lineoperations that can be made more efficient withautomation, are production flow an important watchword.
