The purpose of this essay has been to examine the public`s view of the Swedish eldercare during 2006. This study uses discourse analysis as a research method, the reference material has been articles from the newspaper Dagens Nyheter. The aim of the research has been to find central themes, conflicts and consensus in the discourse of eldercare. The analysis resulted in four main subjects which were based on four main questions; the questions of responsibility and execution, the question of contents, and the question of where the eldercare should take place. The analysis of conflicts and relations of consensus in the discourse of eldercare resulted in two different main views; the traditional and a more modern.

Att drabbas av esofaguscancer medför stora svårigheter för patientoch närstående. Dysfagi innebär ofta att inte kunna äta och dricka.Överlevnaden är kort och stentbehandling anses vara en bra metod.Syftet var att beskriva vilken livskvalitet patienter medesofaguscancer upplever, sjuksköterskans stödjande funktion samtbemästrande hos patient och närstående.Litteraturstudien baseras på tio veteskapliga artiklar och enavhandling som behandlar livskvalitet, stentbehandling,bemästrande och sjuksköterskans stödjande funktion.Patienter som behandlats palliativt med stent upplevde ensignifikant förbättring av livskvaliteten. Vårdpersonal hademöjligheter att påverka vården i positiv riktning. Positivabemästrandestrategier rapporterade ett ökat välbefinnande.Familjens betydelse för patientens välbefinnande återkommer iflera artiklar. Stentbehandling är en revolutionerande behandling.Vi ser ett behov av bättre modeller för att ta hand om patienten.

Nurses have a fundamental responsibility to relieve suffering, and also to offer support to both the individual and the family.Aim: To illuminate experiences of being a family member to a person with schizophrenia.Method: A systematic literature review was chosen. Nine articles were included. After having analyzed the results six categories were found.Result: The family members experienced the disease as fluctuating and stressful. Some felt ashamed for their sick family member and withdrew from the rest of the society.

Work gets more seamless and the demand on workers increases because of changes in the labour market. Studies show benefits for workers and companies if the employee achieves a balance between work and family, a way to facilitate it is family-friendly policies. A study done by Unionen shows that three out of four white collar workers choose to vobba (working and caring for a sick child), which blurs the boundaries between work and family. Research on flexibility, organisational culture and gender structures shows how these aspects affect the balance between work and family. This is a study where seven white collar workers (three men) that vobbar and two managers (one man) were interviewed.

Omvårdnad av patienter med misstänkt hjärtinfarkt kräver dels ett etiskt förhållningssätt, en holistisk människosyn och vetenskapligt beprövade kunskaper inom områden såsom omvårdnad och medicin. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva sjuksköterskans akuta omvårdnad i mötet med en patient som söker sjukvård för en misstänkt hjärtinfarkt. Studien är litteraturbaserad och har en kvalitativ ansats. Litteraturstudien planerades och genomfördes enligt Polit och Hunglers (1999) arbetsgång. Sökningar efter artiklar gjordes i databaserna Pubmed, Cinahl samt via manuell sökning.

This essay follows a Media Teacher in her work as a coordinator and an artistic leader for a European project called Legalopoli concerning laws and ethics in a senior level school for 13-16 year-olds in Mora, Sweden. The students write film stories about how their characters have to make choices in ethical dilemma situations. Then the learners create interactive computer games together through practical film work. At the same time we can see how the educator also gets into difficult ethical situations, when she is working with the students. This forces her to self-reflection.

Lung cancer is a disease which patients experience stigma in society and in care. This is because lung cancer is often seen as a self-inflicted disease. The stigma surrounding lung cancer is due to the strong relationship with smoking and have been shown to have a negative impact on the perceived health. The purpose of this study was to illuminate experiences of stigma for patients with lung cancer. The literature review was based on 11 scientific articles.

The family and relatives caring for older people in Sweden lies on an old tradition. The responsibility to care for older family members has gone from family to the society. The aim of this study was to examine the needs of family caregivers and their experience of municipality support. This study includes only the family caregivers who have the main responsibility for the care of relatives and have support from the municipality. The caregivers were not allowed to work more than 50 percent in another job.

Syftet med studien var att belysa faktorer som påverkar äldre, över 65 år, patienters upplevelse av beröring, dess effekter samt belysa sjuksköterskans upplevelse av att ge beröring. Metoden är en systematisk litteraturstudie, baserad på 15 vetenskapliga artiklar sökta via databaserna Cinahl, Cochrane och sökmotorn Elin@dalarna.Resultatet visade att genus, livserfarenhet, yrkeskompetens hos sjuksköterskan, relationer samt vilken del av kroppen som berördes var faktorer som styrde patientens upplevelse av beröring från sjuksköterskan.Sjuksköterskors upplevelse av att ge beröring visades genom en helhetssyn av patienten, ge bekräftelse, vårda med respekt samt kunna beröra på ett naturligt sätt. Beröring visades ha goda effekter både hos den äldre patienten och sjuksköterskan genom att relationsbanden mellan dem styrktes, minskade sömnproblemen samt lindrade smärta, stress och oro hos den äldre patienten..

This study aims to provide a picture of how fathers and mothers are produced in judgments regarding child custody and to investigate if any of the parties is aggrieved because of their gender. The material consists of six legal cases. The study is based on gender theory and social construction. It represents a qualitative method where we have used text analysis. The previous research is contradictory as on one hand it shows that there are different criteria related to the parents' gender when it comes to caring for children in both child welfare investigations and the courts.

The aim of this study was to provide an understanding of the situation of an often forgotten group in foster care, the carers? own children. Our main focus was to explore this group?s experience of foster care, their experience of participating in caring for the foster children and their possible need of support and help. Our chosen method was qualitative interviews with six adult children of foster carers, two men and four women.

My purpose is to describe and analyse how care managers experience their position as middle managers in the public sector. I have used a qualitative interview method to answer this question and also to capture my six interview persons opinion and understanding of their own position as middle managers. From my six interviews I noticed some difference in their opinions about how it is being a care manger. The results show that the role as care managers have challenges such as to intertwine their own notion how the caring of the elder should be with strict politic decisions. Other challenges are the limitation of economic recourses and reorganisations.
