Trots att allt fler kvinnor tar plats i näringslivet så domineras såväl näringslivet som de flesta chefspositioner fortfarande av män. Ständigt pågår diskussioner om vad det är som skapar denna sneda fördelning, samt hur kvinnor är i en avvikande position på grund av sin minoritet och huruvida det finns hinder som gör det svårt för kvinnor att nå upp till toppen. Oavsett hur detta stämmer eller ej är det endast individuella upplevelser av kvinnor som lyckats ta sig till toppen som närmast kan förklara hur verkligheten ser ut.Med detta som utgångspunkt ämnar studien undersöka kvinnliga VD:ar inom det svenska näringslivet för att försöka ta reda på, samt redogöra för, hur de upplever att olika möjligheter och eventuella hinder har spelat roll för deras respektive karriärer. Studien är av kvalitativ utformning, där data samlats in genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. Det sammanställda resultatet kommer därefter att analyseras ställt mot valda teorier och modeller, för att slutligen diskuteras med inslag av egna reflektioner och slutsatser.Studien visar på hur majoriteten av kvinnorna stött på fler möjligheter än hinder i sin karriär, trots att de suttit i avvikande positioner som kvinnor i mansdominerade branscher.

Many of us have grown up hearing or using words meant as insults or negative adjectives that were in fact names for social groups. Most of them have gone unquestioned in the mainstream consciousness, but the term Gay in the generally negative meaning has in the past years been given attention as offensive and homophobic, with debates emerging in response over whether or not this is true, particularly on the internet. It is the articles and forum threads from these debates that make out the empirical material for a qualitative study as I ask what these people?s thoughts are about this term and how it is perceived.After a qualitative coding and analysis of these texts, and interpretation of the results based on Erving Goffman?s theory of Phantom acceptance and stigma terms, Judith Butler?s theory of performativity, Ferdinand de Sassure?s theory of signifier and signified and how it connects to the community and Baudrillards theory of simulacra, this is the principal conclusion that I have drawn:For some of the people in this debate, the term Gay and its use is about homophobia and heterosexism, though mostly it?s not overt but a subconscious part of the continued dehumanization and stigmatization of homo- and bisexual people. This has in turn made even more companies choose to maintain a sustainability report that contains the three aspects of economic, environment and social impact. The demand for sustainability reports has increased among stakeholders. It has made the companies that establish this form of reports experienced economic benefits. The sustainability report than became a useful way to compete among businesses.

This master's thesis is about alternative career opportunities for library and information science graduates. Ever since the beginning of our education we have been interested in working outside of the traditional libraries. Now that we are about to receive our degrees in library and information science we are doubtful if the competence we have obtained is enough to meet the demands of the labour market. The employment field we have been studying in this master's thesis is information management, since this is a field that we find comparable to library and information science. Our study involves a qualitative survey amongst recruiting companies to investigate how the recruiters value different educations, competences and personal skills when they employ staff within the field of information management.

Syfte: Att beskriva BVC-sjuksköterskornas erfarenheter av att vägleda mammor med upplevd amningsproblematik för att främja amning. Bakgrund: Bröstmjölk rekommenderas för spädbarn som enda föda upp till sex månaders ålder. Globalt sett syns en nedåtgående trend gällande amning. Det är av stor vikt att skapa en medvetenhet om amningens fördelar för att främja amningsfrekvensen. Studier visar att kvinnor med amningsrelaterade problem som inte fått stöd av vårdpersonal slutade amma i större utsträckning än de som fått amningsvägledning.

In the profession of architects there is an element called architectural competitions, where several architects compete in submitting the best solution for a certain task. In this master?s thesis I am studying the competitor?s perspective of an international architectural competition, while at the same time gaining experiences for my future career as a landscape architect. The aim of this thesis is to through an introspection of my own process examine a competitors view of the international architectural competition and how to approach the difficulties concerning international competitions. Through that I hope obtain experience about the international competition as part of the profession of landscape architects and other involved professions. To examine a competitor?s reflection of an international competition, I entered and competed in LE:NOTRE Student Competition, a competition for students where the task was to develop 25 kilometers of complex urban periphery along a chain of natural and artificial lakes in Bucharest, Romania.

A detailed dam safety evaluation (in Sweden called FDU) was performed in 2009 by WSP where stability control was performed for Långströmmen power plant with associated spillways. This evaluation concluded that stability could not be ensured, and risk of sliding occurred. The evaluation is based entirely on the recommendations outlined in RIDAS, the power companies guidelines for dam safety, and it is clear that extensive renovations are necessary to stabilize the dam.In this work, the stability will also be checked with guidance through new proposals on guidelines for concrete dams sliding stability, ELFORSK?s report 08:59. This report considered the guidelines in RIDAS as oversimplified, both from an international perspective, but also with regard to the current state of knowledge regarding dam safety.

The empirical data underlying the study is qualitative studies with respondents from a university, a hospital, a school, the Swedish Embassy and an organization in order to create an image of different levels in society means to implement preventive measures on HIV and AIDS to their citizens. The result demonstrates that there are clear shortcomings in its implementation guidance on prevention measures for HIV and AIDS as lack of resources is based.
