AbstractWorking with child and youth welfare is one of the most difficult challenges a social worker might face in the field of social work. Those who work with child and youth welfare are more exposed to stress and burnout than other comparable human service occupations. Research links the prevalence of stress and burnout to several key variables, such as demographics, working conditions and personality factors. In contrast, even though social workers in this field face many negative work-related problems they report a high job satisfaction. The aim of this study is to examine how uplifting and straining experiences affect social workers, who work with child and youth welfare, through the use of The Critical Incident Technique and interviews.

Det ställs idag större krav på studie- och yrkesvägledarna och deras kunskaper då det sker stora förändringar i vår omvärld, arbetsmarknad och utbildningsväsende. Vi vill med denna studie klargöra vilka kunskaper inhämtade från studie- och yrkesvägledarprogrammet, yrkesverksamma studie- och yrkesvägledare använder sig av i sitt yrke inom grund- och gymnasieskola. Vårt syfte är också att undersöka vad som möjliggör och begränsar användandet av dessa kunskaper. Vi kopplar följande frågor till vårt syfte; Vilka kunskaper från studie- och yrkesvägledarprogrammet använder vägledare sig framförallt av i yrkeslivet på grundskola och gymnasieskola? Vilka faktorer begränsar och möjliggör användandet av kunskaper som studie- och yrkesvägledare besitter? Anser sig studie- och yrkesvägledare sakna någon kunskap, som borde ingått i deras utbildning, i så fall vilken? De begrepp och teorier vi använt är Bourdieus Habitusteori, Social Cognitive Career Theory samt begreppen organisationskultur och yrkesroll.

AbstractThe purpose of this essay is to investigate the priority rules in the event of termination due to redundancy, the rules functions according to the Swedish labour market and which other alternatives that exist besides the priority rules. The alternatives to the priority rules which are introduced in the essay are the Danish Flexicurity-model and a proposal from the Långtidsutredningen 2011. The rule of priority is a very controversial law at the Swedish labour market, which makes the essay also describing the criticism against the rules. The criticism that the essay presents claims that the rules of priority contribute to immobility effects for particularly older employees. Further on the essay presents the criticism towards the rules, that they disadvantage young employees on the labour market.  The essay investigates also what the researchers say about the criticism.The results that are presented in the essay points to the fact that the rules of priority contributes to the immobility effects of employees but the rules can not be claimed to be the only reason.

This essay is a survey of thirteen user studies performed in the field of image retrieval. The purpose is to try to distinguish principles that should be kept in mind when wanting to make image databases available for a wide and varied group of users. The essay tries to answer two questions, namely: Are there any results in accordance among the different studies? What in the user studies should be considered when it comes to how content description, interface and functions for searching can be designed when creating systems for image retrieval? Each study is first reviewed on its own, and then a comparative analysis of all the studies is carried out. Derived from the result of this analysis, the conclusion is presented in the form of a row of suggestions to which aspects are to be suitably included in the design of image databases.

This thesis explores how public art is received by the general public in Borås, Sweden. As a point of departure it was assumed that a study of the local papers would offer an accurate insight in to the debate of public art. Hence, press clippings were chosen as primary source material together with the works of art. The questions addressed in the study are: what is written in the local daily press about public art? Who writes in or makes statements to the local dailies about public art? Textual analysis is the predominant method employed while hermeneutics is the underlying theory.

Trots att flera forskningsrapporter har visat på de ekonomiska vinsterna med jämställda arbetsplatser är den kvinnliga underrepresentationen på högre poster inom näringslivet fortfarande påtaglig. En av förklaringarna till denna ojämställdhet har tillskrivits den manliga överordningen i samhället som hindrar kvinnor från att ta sig in i den absoluta maktsfären. Flera jämställdhetsstudier visar att kvinnor inte tillåts ingå i ?old-boy-network? och att manliga ideal präglar bilden av hur en bra chef ska vara och agera. Bristande tillgång på informella nätverk anses vara en av förklaringarna till att kvinnor har svårare att lyckas i karriären.

This Bachelor Thesis is entitled ?Swedish parental leave and gender equality. Effects on women?s conditions on the labour market?. Through our empirical results in conjunction with economical and sociological theories, this Bachelor Thesis attempts to answer the questions: 1) Why are the claims for Swedish parental leave unevenly distributed between men and women? 2) Does the uneven distribution result in discrimination of women on the labour market? 3) How do different designs of parental leave scheme influence women?s conditions on the labour market and which possibilities are there to change these conditions through changes in the design? We make use of case studies from Denmark, Iceland and Great Britain, which work as basis for policy implications for the Swedish parental leave scheme.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the unintentional learning that happens during the use of computer games. With the use of interviews with students in the ages 13-15 who all have played the game series Assassin?s Creed, and then compared them with students who does not play the game, we have been able to identify that some learning is taking place, but that the student?s attitude towards the subject, and their maturity, also is vital for the learning. Even tough, the students who didn?t really enjoy history as a subject showed better knowledge after playing the game, than the students who hadn?t played at all, which indicates that computer games can be a good source for learning.

The gas turbines in the Swedish secondary reserve are reaching the end of their technical lifetime, hence alternative solutions need to be considered. One of the solutions thought to have the greatest potential is the use of so called consumptionreduction. By entering contracts with large consumers, agreements are made to reduce consumption in the event of major disturbances in the power system and thus being used as a secondary reserve. This thesis investigates the feasibility of consumption reduction as part of the secondary reserve. This has been achieved by developing a requirement specification for the disturbance reserve and by studying the technical and economic potential for consumption reduction among a range of consumers.The technical potential for consumption reduction that fulfils the requirements for participating in the secondary reserve are on average 750 MW in SE 3 and 98 MW in SE 4.

I denna uppsats kommer vi undersöka hållbara musikfestivaler. Syftet är att få en djupare förståelse om arrangörernas och besökarnas roll inom hållbara musikfestivaler. Vi har inriktat oss på tre musikfestivaler i Sverige, Öland Roots, Urkult och Way Out West för att undersöka hur och varför de arbetar med sådan hållbar utveckling. Det som även kommer att undersökas är besökarnas roll inom hållbarhetsområdet. Genom telefonintervjuer har vi fått en uppfattning om arrangörernas roll inom hållbarhetsarbetet.

The purpose of this paper was to investigate what young behavioral science students, born in the 1980s, think is important in their future work life. The purpose has also been to investigate what attitudes the behavioral science students have towards their future work life, and what place work has in the young behavioral science students lives. After clarification of above, the aim has also been to compare the results with former research. Thereafter the purpose has been to investigate whether traditional work motivation and job satisfaction theories are applicable for young people today. The empirical material is based on interviews with six women who study behavioral science at various levels.

I vårt arbete har vi analyserat vilka variabler som är mer eller mindre stressande i yrket som fastighetsmäklare. De variabler vi valt att undersöka är faktorer inneboende i arbetet, roll i organisationen, karriärutveckling, relationer på arbetet, organisationsstruktur och klimat samt utomorganisatoriska källor till stress. Sammanlagt medverkade 426 fastighetsmäklare från 8 olika fastighetsmäklarföretag i en enkätundersökning. Resultaten har sedan analyserats med hjälp av ett flertal olika statistiska analyser. Resultatet från undersökningen innebär en revision av de tidigare sex variablerna till fyra nya: organisationsklimat, ansvar, tid och händelser i livet.

The use of entertainment in various kinds of business events has recently increased in popularity among Swedish firms. Often, stand-up comedians are hired to entertain the employees or customers during these happenings. Generally, the firm invests a considerable amount of money in this service and is furthermore willing to pay a premium for a famous comedian. Although the market for this type of service is fairly large, the knowledge of the motives behind the investments is yet limited.A grounded theory study is carried out exploring the purpose of the entertainment as well as the rationales behind the preference for a famous comedian over an unknown. Two general types of contexts (internal and external) are identified and a number of objectives related to each type are distinguished.

The aim of this study has been to describe and clarify the phenomenon violence from patients within neuropsychiatric institutions, as experienced by staff members. The study has adopted an actor perspective and phenomenology as a philosophic and theoretical framework. The method used for data collection and analysis has also been influenced by phenomenology. Data consisted of five semi-structured interviews of a descriptive nature, and the goal of the analysis has been to articulate the general structure of the phenomenon. The results showed that the violence from patients is characterized by a professional commitment which includes always staying ahead and being able to help, protect and express a high level of emotional self-control.

Problem:På grund av den konkurrens som idag råder på arbetsmarknaden om kvalificerad arbetskraft ser företaget Manpower ett behov av att kommunicera med individer mitt i karriären. Därför har en Internetbaserad karriärguide nyligen implementerats, men idag finns endast enklare funktioner att tillgå. För att kunna attrahera kvalificerad arbetskraft behövs djupare förståelse erhållas för hur de tänker kring ämnet karriär, karriärvägledning och karriärvägledning på Internet.Syfte:Uppsatsen syfte är att ge riktlinjer för Manpowers Internetbaserade karriärguide. Ett strategiskt tänkande för karriärguiden presenteras samt riktlinjer för funktioner och utformning.Metod:Utifrån insamlad sekundärdata om Career Management och Internetmarknadsföring utformades en intervjuguide som låg till grund för genomförandet av undersökningen. 15 kvalitativa intervjuer med individer mitt i karriären utfördes.
