Sustainability work is something that is emphasized more and more. Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, is discussed and the question of how much responsibility companies should really take is frequently in the news. Companies tend to ask themselves how much responsibility they should take. CSR is a common concept of companies environmental and social work and a concept we tend to see here and there in our modern society. CSR includes companies? social responsibilities, both in terms of carbon footprint, working conditions, social responsibility and more.

I have always lived around mines and around people work­ing with mines. They are a natural part of my life and, inev­itably, a great interest of mine. When time came to make a decision for a degree project, focusing on the mine context felt as natural as breathing.In LKABs underground mines, safety in fire accidents is a great priority. Of outmost importance for the escape is to have a personal gas filter for filtration of smoke and/or gas. My design project resulted in a concept which is aimed at shortening the user journey from the start of the accident until the user has applied the personal safety solution and is ready to escape.Throughout the project I?ve been working with a context which is heavily regulated, and all problems are serious, important ones.

An increased awareness about the global warming has created a demand for more information on how the climate is affected by different activities.This master thesis was initiated by Tricorona, a Swedish company that offers its customers analysis and calculation of their climate impact. Tricorona also supplies climate neutralisation with CERs, in accordance with the Kyoto protocol and controlled by the UN. This work demands updated emission factors for greenhouse gases. An emission factor gives information about the greenhouse gasintensity of a service or a product [kg CO2-eq./ functional unit].The purpose of this thesis is to examine how electricity, district heating, hotels, taxis, food and materials affect the climate and how emission factors for these areas can be calculated.This was done by reviewing and comparing different studies and by interviewing experts. The information was evaluated and recommendations on calculations and emission factors were made.The consumption of energy is the main source of greenhouse gas emissions for district heating, electricity, hotels, taxis and materials.

Detta examensarbete är utfört vid Luleå Tekniska Universitet på uppdrag åt Hägglunds Drives AB i Mellansel. Hägglunds Drives tillverkar kompletta hydrauliska drivsystem, som inkluderar hydraulmotorer. I en hydraulmotor uppstår det slitage när metalliska ytor kommer i kontakt med varandra när till exempel ett lager får otillräcklig smörjning. Slitaget ger upphov till metalliska partiklar som cirkulerar i hydrauloljan och samlas upp i ett filter. Genom att samla upp och studera slitagepartiklarna kan man uttala sig om hydraulmotorns kondition.

Syfte: Syftet med denna systematiska ?versiktsartikel ?r att unders?ka det vetenskapliga underlaget om precisionsnutrition har en st?rre effekt p? viktnedg?ng j?mf?rt med standardiserade kostr?d vid ?vervikt och obesitas hos vuxna personer. Metod: En litteraturs?kning utf?rdes och inkluderade randomiserade kontrollerade humanstudier som unders?kte viktf?r?ndringar med hj?lp av precisionsnutrition. Inklusionskriterierna omfattade vuxna ?ver 18 ?r med ett BMI ?ver 25. Datainsamlingen utf?rdes genom s?kningar p? PubMed och Scopus med specificerade s?kord och filter.

Vid radiometriska kalibreringar av bildsensorer görs en omvandling av digitala data till radiometriska data. På grund av sensordrift måste kalibreringen upprepas för infraröda sensorer under utdragna fältmätningar om kraven på noggrannhet är höga, vilket gör att kalibreringen blir mer komplex. Ännu svårare blir kalibreringen om mätningar görs i flera spektralband (multispektrala mätningar), om spektralbanden spänner över ett stort spektralområde eller om målobjektens strålnivåer varierar mycket. Detta medför dels att kalibreringen tar mer tid och dels att flera eller mer komplexa referensstrålkällor krävs. Syftet med arbetet var att studera problematiken i sådana kalibreringar och se om kalibreringen kunde göras enklare och robustare.

Vatten är ett av grundelementen och är ett vanligt inslag i trädgården som kan skapa ytterligare en upplevelse. Därför baseras studien på vattenanläggningars efterfrågan hos privatpersoner. Studien riktar sig främst mot trädgårdsingenjörer då utbildningen inte innefattar detta ämne. Som nybörjare inom branschen är det svårt att ha en uppfattning om vad som efterfrågas inom vattenanläggningar.Studien syftar till att utifrån anläggares och försäljares synvinklar undersöka hur efterfrågan ser ut. Den grundläggande frågan är: Vad efterfrågar den genomsnittliga privata kunden för vattenanläggningar utifrån estetiskt perspektiv? För att besvara våra frågor startade vi med en litteraturomgång, och med litteraturen som utgångspunkt genomförde vi sedan ett antal intervjuer.

The poultry red mite, Dermanyssus gallinae, is a common problem in poultry facilities, causing great discomfort for the hens and effecting the production economically. Few efficient acaricides are available and there is a need for new control methods since resistance has become a problem in some cases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of the new liquid silica control agent Ectopar, on the poultry red mite. An initial in vitro test of Ectopar and its two components individually was performed, where live mites were sealed in together with filter paper impregnated with one of the three solutions prepared. The survival of the mites was thereafter recorded repeatedly during a period of 120 hours and compared to a control. For the field study, two poultry farms with different housing systems were used, one with furnished cages (farm 1) and one with a single tier floor system (farm 2).

This Master of Science thesis was a part of Pharmadule Emtungas project to construct a mobile automated cell for welding of carbon steel pipe (Heating, Ventilation and Sanitation). Pharmadule Emtunga is using a modular building concept for building pharmaceutical factories. The modules contain these pipes. The goal of the thesis was to present concepts for technical solutions regarding welding methods and fixtures for the cell. Conceptual models for the cell were made with aid of CAD software.

Helstångsborr och konstång kallas bergborrverktyg, som tillverkas av sexkantiga stänger med inre hål för ledning av spolvatten. Dessa spolhål är klädda med ferritiskt rostfritt stål. Innan valsning borras ett centrerat hål i stålämnet som ska valsas. I det borrade hålet appliceras ett rör av ferritiskt rostfritt stål och i det röret skjuts en manganstålskärna in. Efter valsning dras kärnan ut och ett spolhål med invändigt foder av rostfritt stål bildas.

Syftet med denna rapport är att visa hur en ökning av isolertjockleken i ett hus påverkar kostnader och energiåtgång för isoleringen i ett livscykelperspektiv, samt för husets bruksskede. I studien har en optimering av isoleringen på ett pågående byggprojekt i Växjö, kv Limnologen, utförts. Total energiåtgång för isoleringens livscykel har tagits fram från tidigare utförda livscykelanalyser (LCA). Husets värmebehov har beräknats mha information från ritningar och kontakter med personer i anknytning till kv Limnologen. En ekvation har utformats för att finna ett teoretiskt optimum för isolertjockleken med inriktning mot total energiåtgång, koldioxidutsläpp och ekonomi.

You can see a tendency where many young people try to establish an Internet business with the hope of success and expansion on today?s fierce market rivalry. To achieve success, companies have to consider factors like business concept, logistic knowledge, future vision, resources and contacts when initializing their business.Having this in mind, we can clarify the purpose with this paper: ?To analyze in what way On-line shopping companies that sell consumer electronics, cell phones and music/entertainment products, have expanded? The paper is based on telephone interviews with three On-line shopping companies.

City of Malmö has ambitions for the district Hyllie to become a demonstrative area ofsustainable urban development. As a part of this the following report aims to investigate the potential in using noise barriers combined with photovoltaics along Annetorpsvägen to generate solar electricity. To quantify the losses that shadows from buildings along the roadmight cause, a 3D-model of the area was constructed in SketchUp. This digital model made it possible to simulate shadows and how they change over the year. A reference model of a photovoltaic noise barrier (PVNB) was constructed and used to find the dates on which the solar cells are shadowed depending on building heights and positioning of the barrier.The results show that two lengths with a total distance of 400 meters is appropriate for applying photovoltaic noise barriers.

In the production of pulp, paper and cardboard, a large amount of water is used daily. The water has to be purified in the internal purifying plant before it reaches the receiving body of water. In the biological purifying stage at the Stora Enso Skoghall mill, an aerated basin is used where the microorganisms, using oxygen, oxidize the organic material to carbon dioxide. The air is pumped from the bottom of the basin and the oxygen can then be transported from the air bubbles to the water through diffusion. The problem with aeration of waste water from the forest industry is that wood residues, such as fatty acids, are making the transport of oxygen in water more difficult.
