Since 2007 the American sitcom the Big Bang Theory has spread throughout the world. With its twenty million watchers it is one of the most popular sitcoms of our time. The starting point for this essay is that the humourus series with the more or less geeky main characters is more than just entertainment - it is a part of the mediatization of religion. This means that media is affecting the recipients? view on religion in general and the personal religion.

This examination work aims to describe how a supply chain around the biggest pellets factory in Sweden will be configured in a logistic perspective. The plant and associated infrastructure are in the building phase and will have production start on the 2 November 2009. The key question that is set in this examination work is to recognize the logistic processes which are essential for an effective flow of materials and information that link the source of supply with the ultimate customer. In order to get the answer, a flowcharting of these supply chain processes is required for understanding the pipeline activities such as input and storage of raw material, the production system and the output of pellets to the customers. The basis for this supply chain map is a model-based representation of these logistic processes and activities that are involved around the pellets factory.

The Swedish and Icelandic women's movements, the Support Stockings and the Women's Alliance both had the goal to change their nation's women politics. The goal was to increase the low representation of women in their parliaments and to highlight women issues on the political agenda. The essay shows that the most important reason behind the will to form a party, was a new issue being disregarded by existing parties, although there is a considerable interest concerning the issue amongst society. While a party was formed on Iceland the Swedish equivalence did not occur. Even though only one party was formed, both movements achieved the same results.

The aim of the study is to show how children and adults are described in three picture books, examining how children and adults are portrayed in text-and-picture narrative and how this has changed over time. We have analysed how the characters in the books are presented and how the representation of children and adults has changed in our own times.The material for the study consists of three picture books from different periods, with the focus on how children and adults are described as the common point of departure. The analysed picture books are: Tomtebobarnen (Beskow 1919), Aja baja, Alfons Åberg! (Bergström 1972) and Snäll (Dahle 2008).We have arrived at the conclusion that a text-and-picture narrative is in very large measure a reflection of the outlook on children, childhood and child rearing at the time when the book was published. The result shows that the greatest change that has happened is that parents? and adults? dominance in the books has declined over the years, and that children have been given a more prominent role.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka den bild som ges av manlighet och manlig identitet i fem olika självhjälpsböcker om manlig identitet riktade mot unga killar.En diskursteoretisk metod har använts för att urskilja vilka olika maskuliniteter som finns representerade i böckerna och hur de inbördes relationerna mellan dessa ser ut. Utöver detta har också de förändringstankar som drivs i böckerna och deras förhållningssätt till makt-relationer mellan könen analyserats.I nästan samtliga böcker finns någon form av konflikt mellan en traditionell maskulinitet, ofta benämnd som machomannen, och en modernare maskulinitet. Exakt vad denna kamp handlar om skiljer sig dock kraftigt åt böckerna emellan. Det kanske största gemensamma draget är dock att mannens sexualitet i samtliga böcker framstår som stark, självklar och mer eller mindre central i alla mäns identitet..

This thesis examines the possibility of Bolivian indigenous women?s social movements? getting their demands of a gender equal society fulfilled in the new state which was initiated in 2005 when Evo Morales became the first president representing the indigenous people of the country. By using a qualitative method I have showed that although the Bolivian indigenous women?s social movements? historically has been significant political actors for social change in the country, with representation at both regional and national level, Bolivian women are still subordinated in the social and political sphere. By applying a feminist intersectional perspective which takes its point of departure in a understanding of power as multidimensional, where gender, ethnicity and class are constitutive principals, multiculturalism theories and a social movements theory framework, I have found that even if institutional changes, that opened the system increased the indigenous women?s social movements political participation in Bolivia, power structures based on gender limited their possibilities to influence both socially and politically.

Detta examensarbete var ett utav två som ingick i ett projekt där en enhet för vibrationsmätning togs fram. Examensarbetet utfördes hos Land Systems Hägglunds och syftet med enheten var att kunna bedöma servicebehov av stridsfordon, utifrån uppmätt påverkan av vibrationer. Enheten skulle vara liten och billig för att kunna monteras i alla fordon och lagra information om hur stora påfrestningar fordonen utsätts för. Som bas för enheten valdes en digital signalprocessor. Tre accelerometrar mäter vibrationerna i x-, y-, och z-led.

I Sverige uppfyller medierna demokratiska uppgifter i syfte att värna om den lagstadgade fria åsiktsbildningen. Medierna ska granska inflytelserika aktörer och deras innehåll ska presentera olika åsikter mellan vilka allmänheten självständigt ska kunna ta ställning. I uppsatsens undersöks hur Dagens Nyheter, Göteborgs-Posten och Sydsvenskan hanterade kravet på opartiskhet i förhållande till respektive dagstidnings nyhetsförmedling inför riksdagsvalen 2006 och 2010. Tidigare forskning visar på att Alliansen gynnades i valrapporteringen inför såväl riksdagsvalet 2006 som 2010.För att göra kravet på opartiskhet mätbart tar jag hjälp av Jörgen Westerståhls tankegods som formulerar två krav vilka ska uppfyllas för att medierna ska anses förmedla opartiska nyheter. För det första ska en nyhet vara balanserat återgiven och för det andra måste rapporteringen förhålla sig neutral.Resultatet visade att journalistiken i större utsträckning uppfyllde kravet på neutral representation än balanskravet.

Building on the concept of constructive iconoclasm as a creational force of iconicity, this thesis examines how the contemporary iconoclastic discourse is related to artistic process. Studies have shown that the performative act of destroying art that is an historical phenomenon is highly present within the contemporary art discourse today. Due to the many dimensions of contemporary art, the ways in which iconoclastic deeds appear may differ from the historical narrative. While iconoclasm and iconicity are being reciprocal processes that can only exist in relation to each other and their context, there are signs that the destructive act itself is being recontextualized by contemporary artists. Guided by the framework of Norman Fairclough?s critical discourse analysis, the thesis examines the processes of conceptual and constructive art destruction by analyzing the discourses of two case studies situated in the contemporary art market.

Abstract: The purpose with this study was to explore different peoples preconceived opinions of three psychiatric diagnoses; Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). These designations are accompanied by a definite social stigma, which could have profound effects on a person diagnosed with either disorder. These designations carry the risk of excluding and labelling individuals and could provoke a feeling of abnormality and potentially segregate them from the Community. This study is a qualitative study of six individuals, (sample size equals six). The rationale behind the selection was to get a broad representation of different individuals? opinions.

For almost a century the debate about women as ordained servants in the Church of Sweden has raged on and on. The decision to open up the priesthood for both genders in 1958 was a milestone in the women?s liberation movement as well as it marks an important time in the church history. The debate has mainly been about how to interpret scripture, who has the right to do so, and so on. Feminist theology has become one way in recent decades to paint a wider and more nuanced picture of history and how to interpret the texts often used to repress women.This essay surveys some of the steps towards that decision, as well as it paints a rough picture of what leadership among women in the church could involve before ordination became an option.

The power of news media to shape public opinion has been widely researched and acknowledged. In the globalized world of today, media representations of different ethnic groups therefore contribute to social segregation or desegregation. This thesis investigates how Spanish news media frame Spain?s most numerous minority of non-European ethnicity: the Moroccans. Using a quantitative content analysis, we have analysed about 200 news articles in the two most read Spanish online newspapers, El País and El Mundo, published during a two-year period, 2010-2012.

This paper examines women's positions in the music industry. By quantitativelyinvestigate ten major companies on the swedish music market, the authors have beenable to mapp positions that are dominated by women and as well as men. In theconclusion, the authors explain the result generated by the analysis and illustrates theprevailing segregation that exists in the music industry.This paper has concluded that a seemingly even distribution between men andwomen in business organisations can sometimes be misleading.

Denna studie behandlar sättet som karaktärer gestaltas i bilder för spel och undersöker om mottagarens förhållningssätt till karaktären skiljer sig beroende på karaktärens kön. Det som undersöks är ifall karaktärerna tolkas olika även om de är menade att representera samma egenskap, samt ifall tolkningen av karaktärerna förändras när dessa samspelar med en annan karaktär i samma bild.För att undersöka detta skapades bilder av manliga och kvinnliga karaktärer samt en karaktär vars kön inte gick att urskilja. Alla karaktärer gestaltades med tre olika varianter på representation: dominans, undergivenhet och likgiltighet. Utöver dessa bilder skapades även fyra olika varianter av reklambilder för att undersöka ifall tolkningen av karaktärerna påverkas av att dessa samspelar med en annan karaktär i samma bild. Undersökningen utfördes genom en webbenkät med slutna och öppna frågor om vad den svarande ansåg att karaktärerna representerade..

The following Bachelor?s thesis examines how three Swedish national newspapers (Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet and Aftonbladet), which all represent different points on the ideological spectrum, portray victim and perpetrator in their representation of rape during the year 2011. The thesis examines the newspapers news, editorial pages and reports of rape. The study uses a quantitative approach with qualitative elements which has its foundation in the theory of social constructivism and priming theory. Political science can be studied from the perspective of power, and media has a central role of this power.
