AbstractBackground: After a while the usage of urinary catheters leads to UTI which for the patient means inconvenience, suffering and pain. Aim: The aim of this study was to illuminate how to prevent UTI from patients with indwelling catheter. Method: This study was a literature review in which the articles have been searched for in PubMed, Cinahl and ELIN@Kristianstad. Results: It is important for the nurse to clean the periutheral area before inserting the catheter, and has the knowledge of different cathetermaterials. Silver alloy-coated catheters reduces the rate of UTI.

Syftet är att undersöka hur fyra affektiva personlighetsgrupper skiljer sig i stress, sömnsvårigheter och smärta. De fyra affektiva personlighetstyperna är självförverkligande, lågaffektiva, högaffektiva och självdestruktiva. Studien inkluderade färdiginsamlad data från The Middle Sweden Pain and Sleep Project. I studien deltog 611 män och 838 kvinnor i varierande åldrar (M=46.93, SD=12.73). Det visade sig att det fanns signifikanta skillnader i stress, sömnsvårigheter och smärta mellan grupperna.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka och beskriva manliga patienters uppfatt- ningar av kateterisering och hur det är att, tillfälligt i samband med ett operativt urolog-iskt ingrepp, få och bära kateter. Studien genomfördes genom kvalitativa intervjuer av tio patienter på en vårdavdelning. Materialet från intervjuerna bearbetades och analyserades med en fenomenografisk ansats och detta resulterade i fem kategorier: Vikten av ett gott bemötande, Informationen före operation har stor betydelse, Obefogad rädsla för smärta, Betydelsen av val av material, Tryggheten och relationen till medpatienter i samma situation..

This thesis has been carried out at the Department of Urban and Rural Development at SLU Ultuna during the spring semester 2009. The topic of the paper is how energy consumption can be influenced through design and if the conditions for good design decreases when solutions based on energy efficiency are used. The report is divided into one literature study and one part where energy efficient solutions are used in a design. The thesis work has its origin in a project called "Energihus i Uppsala." The planned building will be a center for energy research in Uppsala. The project aims to demonstrate to the public what is currently happening in research related to energy.

I Sverige får årligen cirka 300 barn diagnosen cancer och idag dör ett av fyra barn. Den palliativa vården för barn handlar om att vårda barnets kropp, själ och ande samt att ge ett stöd till hela familjen. Sjuksköterskan är ett stöd när familjer hamnar i en krissituation och det är betydelsefullt att ha en förståelse för vilken omvårdnad föräldrarna är i behov av. Syftet med studien var därför att beskriva föräldrars upplevelser av att ha ett barn som kommer att dö i cancer.Studien genomfördes som en kvalitativ innehållsanalys av självbiografier. Litteraturen valdes genom att söka i databasen LIBRIS och använda ordet barncancer.

IKEA HaparandaTornio employ some two-hundred people in its furniture retail store.Keeping track of staff statistics and employee information has previously been achievedthrough the use of a basic Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet. The store?s human resourcesdepartment requested an upgrade to this system with the hope of speeding up andsimplifying the administrative process, as well as to make it easier to monitor HR-relatedtarget statistics. The following report documents the development process of that upgrade ascarried out by the author. The project draws on research in usability design and cognitivepsychology to develop a user-friendly interface.

Around year 2004, a new service was introduced on the Swedish housing market with the purpose of increasing the sell price, namely homestaging. Homestaging means that a home gets in order before a open house, for example by removing personal affections or the leasing of new furniture. The phenomenon originates from the United States, where it has existed for several decades.Most components, but not all, that is included in the homestaging concept is tax-deductible and this has lead to several questions around the law and foremost within tax law. To elucidate this complexity of problems around the right to deduction for homestaging, the Swedish tax agency, Skatteverket, has formulated a letter stating the authority?s attitude towards the phenomenon.

Background: Hand hygiene is the simplest and most fundamental means to prevent care related infections. It is of great importance that the guideline of hand hygiene is followed for the patient?s sake. Unfortunately, healthcare workers perform hand hygiene too seldom. If the patient comes down with a care related infection, the suffering will increase.

The aim of this study was to review six professionals supporters work to support adolescents in grief, and if this support is the kind of support adolescents actually need. These professional supporters are two hospital social workers, two hospice social workers and two support group leaders. The questions included in the work are; How does the professional support look like for adolescents aged 12-18, who has lost a parent in cancer? Are the adolescents getting the support they need from these professionals? The study is based on qualitative interviews based on interview guides, which where then analyzed thematically and linked to previous research and grief theory. The result indicate that adolescents may need different forms of support when their parent is dying or has died.

I Sverige drabbas 1000 personer varje år av huvud- och halscancer. Rökning är den största enskilda orsaken till denna typ av cancer. Att motivera patienterna till att sluta röka är angeläget då fortsatt rökning har negativ inverkan på behandlings-resultatet samt förvärrar biverkningarna av behandlingen. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om patienter med huvud- och halscancer fick information om rökning och rökavvänjning inför och under strålbehandling, vad denna informa-tion innehöll samt att beskriva hur patienten upplevde informationen. Metoden var en intervjustudie som genomfördes på strålbehandlingsavdelningen, UMAS, Malmö.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to investigate the lending of video games at the public libraries in Sweden. The thesis focused around a web survey, which was sent out to all public library directors, as its research material. The results were compared with those found in a master thesis by Olle Berg and Thomas Nyström from 2008. This was done to gain a better understanding of why the libraries provided video games. The other results of the survey were analyzed with a quantitative method.The results indicate that half of the responding libraries provide video games for borrowing.

Cancer är den ledande orsaken till sjukdomsrelaterad död hos unga individer mellan 15-24 år. Detta är en tid som präglas av fysisk och psykisk utveckling, då unga söker efter identitet och självständighet.  Studier har visat att under pågående behandling upplever de unga patienterna ett sjukdomslidande och att de isoleras från sin normala omgivning. De unga påpekade vikten av att bli sedda och lyssnade på av vårdpersonalen, de beskriver även betydelsen av att vara delaktig i sin vård. Antalet unga canceröverlevande ökar och många av dem känner sig övergivna efter utskrivning, vilket späder på det lidande som de redan upplevde under behandlingen. Syftet med studien är att beskriva ungas, 15-25 år, upplevelser av att överleva en cancerdiagnos efter färdig behandling till friskförklaringen som är efter fem år.

The purpose of this literature review is to gain knowledge of how a nurse can relieve a patient´s suffering and promote a patient´s health on his/her own without pharmacologic aid. The method is a literature review based on 10 scientific articles. The study is influenced by Antonovskys view of health. The result showed four clear themes: (1) reduced anxiety / worry and physiological effects, (2) well-being and quality of life, (3) steps towards self-care and (4) relations. Relaxation and massage proved to have calming and pain-relieving effects.

Barnkonventionen ligger till grund f?r sjuksk?terskans omv?rdnadsarbete inom palliativ v?rd som str?var efter att fr?mja barns livskvalitet och v?rdighet.

The Earths climate is changing at a higher rate, i.e between 1861 and 1994 the annual mean temperature in Scandinavia increased with 0,68º C and according to recent climate models the annual mean temperature is likely to rise with another 3º C during this century.A warmer climate in many ways is associated with changing conditions for lake ecosystems. An expected higher water temperature and a stronger summer stratification of the water column increases the risk of anoxic conditions at the lake bottom. Thus anoxic conditions are likely to cause a phosphate leakage from the sediment, i.e. a higher internal loading of phosphate.In this project, the extremely warm summer of 2002 has been used as an example for a possible scenario for a future climate. By comparing levels of phosphorus in the summer of 2002 with a ten-year median value, a phosphorus related sensitivity to climate change has been analyzed for 55 Swedish lakes.
