The globalization of political and economic processes is a growing moral concern for theologians and political philosophers alike. My thesis aims to outline, analyze, and compare church studies of globalization with global theories of justice.To do this, I draw upon recent studies of globalization made by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Lutheran World Federation (LWF). The WCC and LWF are two global reaching church organizations. They have a common aim of uniting churches for ecumenical dialogue and are involved in social, economic, political, and ecological questions. The WCC and LWF analyze globalization by applying biblical and theological principles from the Christian tradition.

In this essay, I analyze the syllabus for Swedish with specific regard to literature teaching. I identify three different perspectives which carries seperate implications. First, a text-centered perspective, which tends to position the importance of the text as a part of a tradition. However, this seems to distance the reading from the reader, and place the importance of the reading event outside the student. The consequence might be that the student employs an instrumental reading which simply responds to a pre-set idea of meaning.

This study is about Wikipedia which defines itself as a free online encyclopaedia. Our chief interest lies in the debate and the controversy which has arisen around Wikipedia. After reading critical articles concerning Wikipedia we found that the debate for most parts had one identifiable theme namely the question whether Wikipedia is an encyclo-paedia or not.Encyclopaedia as a term and a phenomenon has a long tradition. Wikipedia, despite calling itself an encyclopaedia, functions differently in comparison to more traditional encyclopaedias. These traditional views involve encyclopaedic structure, its organiza-tion and its functions.

Uppsatsen är en litteraturstudie och syftar till att kritiskt belysa den nu pågående gymnasiereformen ur ett utbildningshistoriskt perspektiv med särskilt fokus på enhetlighet, jämlikhet och likvärdighet, för att se likheter med och avvikelser från tidigare strävanden. Reformen analyseras sedan ur ett liberalt jämlikhetsperspektiv efter John Rawls? teori om rättvisa. I rättviseanalysen fokuserar jag särskilt differ-entieringen av gymnasiet i högskoleförberedande respektive icke högskoleförbered-ande program.    I min utbildningshistoriska analys visar jag hur reformen är ett trendbrott i svensk utbildningspolitisk tradition dels genom att ange kunskapsnivån i skolan som främsta orsak till reformen och inte sociala aspekter, dels eftersom den innebär en återgång till en differentierad gymnasieskola. Samtidigt visar det sig att utbildningspolitiken är klassiskt borgerlig och i det avseendet är reformen inte överraskande.    En rättvis skolstruktur erkänner den kultur- och kunskapstradition som eleverna är en del av, för dem tidigt in i denna tradition, och lär dem efterhand att använda sina kunskaper på ett personligt sätt.

Concrete is a very common construction material. It´s characteristics are strength, durability and formablility. Superplasticizer is a common admixture, which changes the properties of concrete. Today (spring 2007) there are no certian mathematical methods to calculate the required percentage of this admixture needed to give the necessary set slump flow in the overall concrete recipe. Concrete batching companies must therefor experiment with different amount of superplasticizer in order to meet the specified slump and strength. The purpose og this report is to investigate if any mathematical relation can be established between the amount of superplasticizer used and the slump flow achieved. After carrying out some practical experiments using four different superplasticizers a direct relationship can be establish between the percentage of admixture used and the slump/flowability achieved. Unfortunatly at present due to the numerous variables, the calculation of mathematical formula can not be achieved..

Sammanfattning En bra grund är en grundläggande förutsättning för varje husbyggnation.  Den vanligaste grundläggningsmetoden är platta på mark som i sitt grundutförande kräver plant underlag. En konsekvens av rationaliserade byggmetoder har blivit att man vid grundläggning på berg spränger en plan yta att förlägga grunden på. Att spränga i berg skapar irreversibla skador. I Sotenäs kommun, en kommun belägen på Bohusläns kust, finns berg som genom sin särprägel blivit klassade som riksintresse enligt Miljöbalken. En tradition i Bohuslän är att anpassa bebyggelsen efter naturens förutsättningar, vilket bland annat resulterat i grunder byggda efter bergets formationer.

Jag har som examensarbete på master-nivå formgivit en sittmöbel med utgångspunkt från min uppväxt i Dalarna. Målet har varit att göra en filosofisk tolkning av mina minnen samt en hyllning till regionen, i synnerhet Borlänge där jag växt upp.Jag har under projektets gång gjort en resa både på ett mentalt och rent fysiskt plan tillbaka till den plats jag växt upp för att utforska mina minnen och därigenom skapa en plattform för mitt designarbete.För att nå mitt resultat har jag använt mig av designmetoder som ITK, intervjuer, skisser, studiebesök, materialtester, mockups samt modelleringsverktyget Rhino.Resultatet är en stol inspirerad av saker som bland annat Ornäs stugan och musikkulturen i Borlänge. Stolen består av en metallkonstruktion, trädetaljer vid fötterna samt armstöden och en sits i läder.For my thesis work on postgraduate level, I have designed a chair based on my upbringing in Dalarna. The goal has been to make a philosophical interpretation of my memories and a tribute to the region, particularly Borlänge where I grew up.During the project I have made a trip both on a mental and physical level back to the place where I grew up to discover my memories and thereby creating a platform for my design work.In order to achieve my result, I have used design methods such as ITK, interviews, sketches, field trips, materials testing, mockups and the modeling tool Rhino.The result is a chair inspired by things like Ornässtugan and the music culture in Borlänge. There is respect for the history of dance and my aim is to find out how the history affects the dancing youth today. The design of the dance lesson is often of a traditional stereotypical manner, both didactic and methodic, and it rarely appears to be questioned. I have danced for almost 20 years and I am a part of this tradition of movements, music, language and way of ?being?. My ambition with this study is to go outside my own experience and offer insight and an overall picture of a, for the outsider, closed world.

The Societety Park (Societetsparken) of Varberg here in Sweden, established in the year 1883 (1856), is one of the most famous parks in Varberg. Today it is, more or less, only used as a park that you will walk through in the wintertime, under the summer season though, the park starts blooming and then it is used for public music and singalong evenings. Earlier it was an old health resort park with its fine old traditions.The Societetsparken was a private owned park until 1902 when the town purchased it. On this plot there was already a smaller park and it was established as early as in 1856. It was called Badhusparken (The Public Bath Park) and it belonged to the hot- and cold-bathhouses, and these baths were very well frequented.

Inbjuden av Gustaf III, den franska teaterdekoratören, konstnären och arkitekten Louis Jean Desprez, i Sverige 1784-1804, förnyade teaterdekorationen på Operan. Genom att analysera Desprez? teaterdekorationer med inspiration från de abstrakta konstnärerna Mondrian, Malevich och Rothko, utvecklar uppsatsen ett nytt tolkningssystem som tillsammans med traditionell tolkning innebär en djupare tolkningsmetod. Detta visar att Desprez? teaterdekorationer var viktiga för Gustaf III:s kulturpolitik.

The sun is an endless energy source and the heat it produces can be used to heatup our homes. This technology is relatively old and was introduced in the late70-s. There are two kinds of solar collectors that are most frequently used todayand these are plain solar collectors and vacuum solar collectors. The plain solarcollectors are the once that are used the most but the vacuum solar collectorshave increased more as a percentage the last couple of years.The biggest question asked regarding an investment in solar heating is if theplant is economically profitable. This question has no direct answer because itis dependent on a couple of prerequisites.

The thesis that follows is performed in collaboration with Nitator in Oskarström.The factory in Oskarström focuses on laser cutting, robotic welding and surfacetreatment of steel for the automotive industry.The project aims to streamline the flow of materials in production by automatingthe movements of the forklifts, running to and from the interlayer, and betweenworkstations.The project started with a systematic literature search. The literature searchshowed the research position around the AGV-system. Also a review of studentliterature was made, so that a suitable method for practical implementation couldbe developed and applied. Selected method uses both quantitative and qualitativeapproaches, which is analyzed by using triangulation.The work has resulted in a modified layout of the current facility in Oskarströmthat can be used for the implementation of the AGV-system. It has also resulted inthe tender documents and profitability calculation from several of AGV-suppliers..

Att Sveriges gymnasielärare också har uppdrag som mentor för sina elever är mycket vanligt. Litteratur och forskning på området belyser komplexiteten i de dubbla rollerna, som dessutom är otydligt beskrivna. Denna konstruktion vilar på en tradition i skolan där klassföreståndarskapet varit föregångare. Då det inte finns formella krav på att undervisande lärare skall ha mentorsrollen, är det anmärkningsvärt att svensk litteratur och forskning inte ifrågasätter denna norm som snarare vilar på tradition än vetenskap.Den här studien beskriver skolor som valt att göra annorlunda, det som kallas avvikande enheter. I vilka avseenden arbetar de annorlunda? Hur trivs personalen med detta annorlunda arbetssätt? Det tydligaste särdraget är att skolorna har heltidsmentorer som inte undervisar eller betygsätter.
