Almost 10 years after the attack on World Trade Center Sept. 11 2001, Osama bin Laden was shot and killed on May 2 2011 in Pakistan. How was this event framed by the media with regards to the global war on terror? This study compares two different American newspapers ? the New York Times and the New York Daily News ? and how they framed the war on terrorism in the Middle East from May 2 to May 15 2011. By analyzing the framing in a perspective of the four functions of framing theory: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgments and suggest remedies, we found considerable differences in each papers frames.

On July 22, 2011 a bomb detonated in the government building in central Oslo in Norway and eight persons died. Later that day, 69 people, most of them youths, were shot down and killed on the island of Utøya by a uniformed Norwegian man.The purpose of this study is to analyse Anders Behring Breivik's personality and explain why he became a killer. I have used a Psychobiographical narrative method, which serves to describe the mind of a human being, linking the mind to motives, scripts, unconscious ideas and personality.My primary sources are Breivik?s Manifest: 2083 A European Declaration of Independence and the inter-views with his father and stepfather, together with the Psychiatric Reports which were submitted to the District Court of Oslo. I have analysed in what way Breivik?s childhood influenced his behavior as an adult.

Denna C-uppsats analyserar genom kvalitativt inneha?llsanalytiska metoder utvalda delar av BBC:s bevakning av upploppen i England i augusti 2011. Metodmodellen a?r egenkonstruerad, men anva?nder element ur kritisk diskursanalys (CDA, Faircloughs tilla?mpningar), samt delar av de metodverktyg som tas upp i Selby och Cowderys metodhandbok How to Study Television. Materialet underso?ks i fyra steg: konstruktion, kategori/genre, inverkan/agency samt diskursiv praktik/nyhetsva?rdering.

Med lång erfarenhet från yrkeslivet inom hotell- och restaurangbranschen där jag handlett elever under utbildning ser jag nu som ansvarig för undervisningen på skolan elevernas praktik ur ett annat perspektiv. Vi befinner oss för närvarande i skarven mellan två läroplaner, Läroplanen för de frivilliga skolformerna 94 [ Lpf 94] och Gymnasieskola 2011 [ Gy 11]. Yrkesutbildningarna inom gymnasieskolan går från att ha varit yrkesförberedande till att göra eleverna väl förberedda för yrkesexamen så att de enligt skolverket (Gymnasieskola 2011) kan börja jobba direkt efter skolan. Arbetsplatsförlagd utbildning [ APU] ersätts av arbetsplatsförlagt lärande [APL] med i stort sett oförändrad omfattning och krav. Dock kan man notera att huvudmannen/ skolan har befriats från kravet att anordna utbildningar för handledare vid behov.

 Hösten 2011 infördes en ny gymnasiereform i Sverige (GY11) och förutsättningarna på gymnasienivå förändrades. Eleverna ska nu välja mot en yrkesförberedande eller studieförberedande examen redan i årskurs nio. De gemensamma kärnämnena har minskat, möjligheter att läsa in högskolebehörighet på yrkesförberedande program har förändrats och det har tillkommit två nya examensformer. Skolan har, i Sverige, under de senaste två seklerna förändrats, både inom organisationen och gentemot samhällsförändringar. Skolan har under åren haft många olika uppdrag, bland annat som kunskapsförmedlare, förvaringsplats och producent av arbetskraft.

This is an interview- and literature study that discusses teaching about the Second World War and the Holocaust, while working with the basic values in grade 7-9.The purpose with this examination is to see how teachers of history in grade 7-9 choose to teach about the Second World War and the Holocaust, how they work to integrate the basic values in their education and whether the teachers? education can be sustained by the Swedish school curricula.In this study I?ve been doing qualitative interviews with five teachers of history in grade 7-9 from different schools. I have also perused the Swedish school curricula and read some literature and studies about different ways of dealing with the subject: the Holocaust.According to the central parts of the Swedish curricula, LGR 2011, the fields about the Holocaust and the 20.century World Wars are to be studied during grade 7-9. All my respondents in the study teach about this think that the most important thing with this complex time in history, is to give the students a deeper understanding for the time leading up to the beginning of the  Second World War in 1939, and why the Holocaust actually took place.Regarding the work with the basic values, all the five respondents agree on the fact that, this subject shall permeate the entire work at school, all the time, every day, but that it?s absolutely essential while studying the Holocaust.

We have studied the differences between people debating on a program in apublic service-channel and a privately-owned channel. We have chosen thetwo biggest debate programs, Kvällsöppet in the privately-owned channelTV4 and Debatt in the public service-channel SVT 1. We have in aquantitative content analysis studied female and male, how many of each thatare participating, how long time they talk in the program and in what rolethey have in the debate. We have studied 10 episodes of Kvällsöppet thespring season 2010 and compared with Johanna Paulsson & Patrik Rosellstudy ?30/70.

This diploma work project is a product development project which purpose is to redesign a braking system for a walking frame. The system that was developed diverges the force from the user to braking power, and includes a service brake as well as a parking brake. The most important components of the system are a grip handle on where the user holds on to and a braking handle on which the user operates the brake from. The system also includes a power transmission component, braking package and other mechanical components. All of the components wasn?t developed in this project, several off them has been reused from the existing system.This product has been developed to meet the requirements and standards presented from the principal, Ahlberg Leber.

Självmedkänsla är ett relativt nytt område inom den positiva psykologin (Neff, Rude & Kirkpatrick, 2007) och mäts utifrån tre delkomponenter: self-kindness, common humanity och mindfulness. Familjesituation och kön har tidigare visats påverka graden av självmedkänsla (Neff, 2011). Föreliggande explorativa studie avsåg att utforska graden av självmedkänsla hos unga vuxna samt mellan skilsmässobarn och kärnfamiljsbarn i samma grupp. En enkät med ett självskattningsformulär (SCS-LV) över självmedkänsla samt frågor om ålder, om respondenten var kärnfamiljsbarn eller skilsmässobarn och hur gammal respondenten i så fall var när föräldrarna separerade, delades ut till 93 studenter vid ett sydsvenskt universitet. Sju svar från respondenter över 25 år samt en ofullständigt ifylld enkät utelämnades vilket gav N=85.

This thesis is dealing with how students living in a student corridor experience the circumstances in their corridor. The aim is through interviews with students living in the corridors get a inside look at their situations. I want to examine how changed conditions of life, new meetings and new experiences will influence their personalities. How are the students living in the corridors affected by conflicts and how do they protect themselves from the influence of the rest of the group living there? In addition to that I want to know what they think is important prioritises throughout their student time, like if there are anything important that a student should take time to do beside the studies.

Torstensson, Niklas (2012): Anledningar till olikheter mellan Svenska kommuners skolkvalitet (Causes behind the differences in Swedish municipality´s quality of school) Örebro University.This essay is an explorative case study that will compare four Swedish municipalities quality of local school system against the municipality ´s backgrounddata and a governing document: Skolplan. This study begins in a previous benchmarking study made by one of Sweden?s teachers unions Lärarförbundet. This is a statistical study that ranked the Swedish municipalities against each other?s according to their accomplishments in a number of areas related to their school systems.

I dagens samhälle är bolagsstyrningen ett aktuellt ämne. Begreppet bolagsstyrning avser tankegångar och bestämmelser om hur bolag skall ägas och styras. När obalans råder mellan dessa bestämmelser skapas icke-fungerande näringsliv samt marknadens förtroende för bolagen och deras förvaltning drastiskt minimeras.I Sverige implementerades år 2005 Svensk kod för bolagsstyrning ? ett ramverk med målet att bidra till en bättre och effektivare bolagsstyrning samt för att stärka förtroendet för bolag på kapitalmarknaden samt den svenska och internationella allmänheten.Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka i vilken utsträckning användes Svensk kod för bolagsstyrning i svenska börsnoterade bolag år 2011, samt se om det fanns samband mellan undersökta bolagens ägarstruktur och deras tillämpning av Koden.  För att fullgöra uppsatsens syfte har en kombination av kvantitativa och kvalitativa ansatser används. Den deduktiva metoden bidrog till att studien utgick från de relevanta till bolagsstyrningen teorier för att sedan besvara de aktuella frågorna.

This work describes a series of glasses, both for people withvisual handicap, and the glasses are not only limited for use onlyby people with poor sight.I have, based on the course Senses, done research and lookedinto how to design glasses for visual handicapped people interms of function, look and expression.I have elaborated with several different glasses and performedmany experiments to come up with my final result, consisting ofa series of glasses.The glasses in the series are made with a weight on one side, onestep on the bottom to get the possibility for the glass to tilt over,which enables you to both hear and see when you have reach acertain amount of substance in the glass.It has also been important for me that the glasses express somethingand get an individual identity.The result became glasses for whiskey, coffee, shots and mullwine..

The information I gathered is the basis for analysis and final discussion. The material has been collected through personal interviews with two managers and then I send questions to the employees by e-mail that they responded. This is to get such an interesting empirical data as possible.
