BakgrundDiabetes typ 2 utgör ett betydande folkhälsoproblem både i Sverige och globalt. Sjukdomen kan leda till allvarliga komplikationer i mikro- och makrocirkulationen, som ger risk för bland annt hjärtinfarkt, stroke och skador på nerver och njurar.
