Dagens samhälle präglas av ett företagsklimat som är hårdare än vad det har varit i historien. Det är en följd av att kraven från omgivningen har blivit större och konkurrensen på marknaden hårdare. Därigenom befinner sig många företag i en situation där kraven på att sänka kostnaderna har ökat. Omorganisationer och otydliga yttre villkor är idag vanligt förekommande och en verklighet för de individer som finns i organisationerna. Stress och utbrändhet är ord som har blivit allt vanligare.

The study aims to understand the underlying factor why McDonald's customers return despiteprevious failure customer experiences. Why do customers come back to the company thatcontributes to the former dissatisfaction? McDonald's attempt to maintain unceasingpurposeful emergence fail at the local level, where the customer contact occurs. McDonald'sofferings and customers' bounded rationality results in that customers are satisfied with an"ok" experience, which adds to their low expectations of McDonalds. This makes clear thatMcDonald's does not have to make an effort through constant adaptation at the local level toachieve a "great" level of satisfaction.

Stress uppstår när det sker en obalans mellan vad som krävs av individen och de resurser som hon har tillgång till. Arbetsrelaterad stress är något som allt oftare förekommer bland lärare idag. Denna stress kan bland annat vara orsakad av ökat ansvar samt tillgänglighet för eleverna. Socialt stöd från omgivningen är en viktig faktor för att reducera stress. Denna studie syftar till att undersöka betydelsen av socialt stöd och skolrelaterad kontext (stökig och ostökig) för kvinnliga och manliga lärares upplevda stress.

Tidigare studier har visat att negativa ka?nsloma?ssiga effekter pa? empatiso?ren avtar med tiden. Denna studies syfte var att, med ett starkare ma?tinstrument samt en bredare population a?n tidigare, underso?ka omra?det ytterligare fo?r att fo?rso?ka fa? mer generaliserbara resultat. Deltagarna var 196 studenter varav 31 ma?n.

The scope of this master´s thesis is the issue of usability in relation to interface design,in particular the interface of a university library´s online public accessed catalogue, orOPAC. Since the OPAC can be seen as the library´s ?shop window? to the world, it isof great importance that the interface to the OPAC can be used by patrons witheffectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction.The master´s thesis is based on a qualitative study performed at Karolinska InstitutetsUniversity library, and contains both a usability evaluation and an interview study. Twointerfaces were evaluated: a standard web interface provided by the system supplier, andan interface developed in-house by Karolinska Institutet´s systems department. The twointerfaces are both connected to the same online library catalogue, thus making possiblea comparative study..

Stress and burnout are two words that are commonly occurring in many contexts today. More and more people experience that they are stressed and that they does not feel well. The long term sick -leave increases as a consequence of people being burned out. These phenomena prolong over all ages, sexes, classes and professional categories, which probably means that the construction industry would not be spared.  In the construction industry, stress and bad health are no new phenomenon, already during the 1970s and big parts of the 1990 s, the construction sector were exposed to the phenomena.A sector that has a large turnover annually cannot presumably be faultless.

Background: During the last decades patient satisfaction has become an important measurement of quality in psychiatric care. However the patients are seldom asked to evaluate the treatments.Objectives: The aim is to determine which factors the outpatients regard as beneficial in their psychiatric treatment. The purpose is explorative. During the study another purpose developed; to present research on the importance of the relationship between the caretaker and the caregiver for the outcome.Method: 30 persons were interviewed about what they found helpful in psychiatric treatment. The interviews were open using Grounded Theory as methodological input.Result: The most prominent topic was the quality of the relationship between the caregiver and the caretaker.

This essay is about how newly graduated teachers experience their first year in teaching. The main focus is linked to the theory about the pedagogy triangle of Bermuda. It involves two dimensions with six main aspects. The first dimension is the psychosocial-, including, ambition, demands and the possibility to achieve ambition and demands. The second dimension is the didactic-, including the what-, why- and how-qustions. The results of the study shows that teachers experience their first year in teaching different, depending primarly of the ascpets of the psychosocial dimension.

This thesis examines if commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS) systems meet the needs in different types of organizations. This was investigated through a case study of a COTS system. The system is built for contact centers and used in different types of organizations. Contextual inquiries with users from six different organizations were held together with interviews with stakeholders of the system. This gave an understanding for how the system is used and the needs to be met in the different organizations were recognized.

The purpose of our study was to investigate how the social workers experience and handle their work with children, who have been exposed to sexual abuse, and what kind of support and guidance the social workers are offered, in order to handle their working situation. We chose to perform a qualitative study, by the use of interviews, since we found it to be the most appropriate way to gather the information. Our conclusion is that the work with these issues is emotionally burdensome and requires a great commitment, however it is essential for the social workers to maintain a certain distance to their work, in order not to influence their personal lives. It is through experience and knowledge that the social workers learn how to handle their working situation.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka om det finns samband mellan arbetstrivsel och personlighet samt arbetstrivsel och kvaliteten på sociala relationer i arbetet. För att mäta arbetstrivseln och sociala relationer på arbetet formulerades sex frågor som var avsedda att mäta i vilken grad deltagarna trivdes på arbetet och hur de trivdes i sin arbetsgrupp. För att mäta personlighet användes Ten-Item Personality Inventory som är ett personlighetstest utvecklat utifrån femfaktormodellen som innefattar fem olika personlighetsdrag. Det insamlade datamaterialet bestod av 57 besvarade enkäter från undersköterskor på tre kommunala arbetsplatser. Resultatet visade på ett signifikant positivt samband mellan arbetstrivsel och sociala relationer på arbetet.

AbstractThe aim of this study was to investigate the reason why students contact adults if they are involved in any kind of bullying, what support they had received and wished for, as well as to investigate why student don?t contact adults. About of 150 students, 50 girls and 56 boys (70%) had experienced bullying of different kinds; some had more than one kind of experience. The students expressed that they had contacted adults when they ?felt unwell? and to ?stop bullying?.

Det råder delade meningar om konsekvenserna av att arbeta i öppnakontorslandskap. Kommunikation och en bra laganda anses vara ettgrundläggande element i framgångsrika organisationer. Då användandet avöppna kontorslandskap ökat finns ett behov av forskning inom området.Syftet är att utifrån ett arbetspsykologiskt perspektiv undersökamedarbetarnas upplevelse av kontorslandskap med fokus på den verbalakommunikationen och lagandan mellan medarbetarna, detta genom åttadeltagare i Downs & Hazens (1977) Communication SatisfactionQuestionnaire samt semistrukturerade intervjuer. Respondenterna uppleveren öppen och positiv verbal kommunikation dock upplevs den även som ettstörningsmoment. Lagandan upplevs som stark och främjande av denindividuella och organisatoriska prestationen.

Syftet med studien är att beslysa de anställdas upplevelse av en påtvingad förändring vid en omställningsprocess och hur processen har hanterats, från att informationen kommit ut om varsel samt till att personer som skall sluta har informerats. Intervjuer med medarbetarna på företaget har genomförts och knutits ihop med relevant teori. Studien är begränsad till medarbetare och deras synpunkt kring förändring. Den kvalitativa metoden har valts och via intervjuer kom det fram upplysningar som varit värdefulla för att försöka erhålla en förståelse för de berördas upplevelser av omställningsprocessen. Resultatet har visat att bristen eller otydligheten i informationen och kommunikationen har varit det mest kritiska i hela processen.
