In recent years the arts institutions? role in society have changed. With increased demands on attracting greater number of visitors they use concepts from corporate marketing to communicate with greater success. Theories from museum studies show that the importance of rendering authenticity now has become the new imperative in order to retain the status of a reputable institution. This thesis aims to discuss the development of a new visual identity for the public and non-profit institution Malmö konsthall.

One of the main reasons for the massive loss in plant species diversity is the fragmentation of habitats. In Europe, open pastures and meadows are the habitats going through the most changes during the 20th century, according to the agricultural changes. In this study vascular plants were invented at five different islands in the Lurö archipelago, Vänern, Sweden. The aim of the study was to sort out whether the diversity of plants has gone through any changes in abandoned managed grasslands compared to continuous managed grasslands. The aim was also to study if a change in the landscape has made any differences for the species development or decline.

The purpose of our study is to see how the interaction between the social services and police work when a child under 15 years is suspected of crimes.What happens to the child from an agency perspective? How is the experience for the child and how do they get their voices heard? How is the professional perspective for a child when a child is suspected of a crime? What do the various authorities for short-term and long-term measures for the child?We have chosen to do a qualitative study using semi-structured interviews. The study includes six interviews with two police officers, three field secretaries and a social worker in two different municipalities. A medium sized municipality, and a larger community.The people we interviewed think differently about collaboration. The municipality have different workforms.

Typically, when Faurecia in Torsås are planning a new assembly line, one of the steps is to build a full-scale model of the line in card board, a form of mock-up planning. Faurecia has shown interest in finding an alternative methodology. The purpose was to explore the possibility of replacing today's cardboard based mock-up planning with models in a digital simulation environment.The purpose of the thesis has been to answer some of these complex questions; What are the benefits of using a simulation tool? In what way can we use it? If we choose to use a simulation tool, in what way does it affect our way of planning an assembly line? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Are there any economical and social aspects?Our results made us realize that a digital simulation tool does not replace the card board. On the other hand simulation could be used as a complement.

Syftet med studien är att lyfta vad förstelärare kan bidra med när det gäller professions- och verksamhetsutvecklingen. Studien baseras på en kvalitativ undersökning i form av sex stycken intervjuer utav förstelärare. Förstelärarens grundläggande arbetsuppgift är att öka måluppfyllnaden i den svenska skolverksamheten. Resultatet visar på att förstelärarna fokuserar främst på lärarna och deras utveckling. Detta genom handledning, kollegialt samarbete och förmedling av aktuell forskning.

The purpose of this study is to investigate a group of female converters and their subsequent experiences when transitioning to islam by bearing hijab. The study analyzes how this religious conversion has shaped and influenced the identity of mentioned women, as well as their attitude and relationship to the social environment prior to and after converting. This means that in accordance with the purpose of this study, an attempt to reveal the everyday life of these women will be performed. In order to make this study possible, three different methods will be put to use. A narrative method that touches upon the time leading up to and after the final converting and the impact of the conversion.

I skuggan av ett brottsoffer ? en kvantitativ studie om mediebevakningen av de personer Peter Mangs stod åtalad för brott mot i Malmö tingsrätt undersöker hur serieskytten Peter Mangs påstådda offer porträtterats i medierna. Uppsatsen undersöker om och hur samhällets bild av brottsoffer påverkar mediernas rapportering om dem.Uppsatsen utgår från den norske kriminologen Nils Christies teori om ideala brottsoffer, som ställer upp en tes för vilken typ av personer som lättast får fullständig och legitim status som offer, samt annan forskning om hur brottsoffer framställs i medierna. Detta för att undersöka vem som anses vara en offer- eller straffvärdig person i samhällets och mediernas ögon. Utifrån Christies teori och övrig forskning undersöks artiklar i Sveriges fem största dagstidningar, samt två andra dagstidningar, som behandlar de personer Mangs stod åtalad för brott mot, från den 6 november 2010, det datum då Mangs greps, fram till den 23 november 2012, då livstidsdomen mot honom slogs fast av Malmö tingsrätt.

The purpose of this work is to develop and test a design process where quick decisions and model building has a prominent role. The goal is to develop a number of products and build prototypes to be shown during the Carl Malmsten Furniture Studies spring exhibition 2012. I?m also writing a report describing my work.To reach my goal I have each day during the first phase conducted a short research and found a concept based on that days name day. Then I have continued in the workshop and worked with three-dimensional models.

This research is about how the educators view the best way to help multilingual students develop their understanding for mathematics. The aim of the study is to identify the different aspects from the teacher?s point of view of this new approach of teaching: what are the limitations versus the opportunities? The study is limited to a multicultural school in Stockholm and to the experience of a few class teachers and mother tongue teachers.A qualitative approach was used and the interview was selected as the method to collect the data. Three class teachers as well as three mother tongue teachers were interviewed about their experiences. The interviews were recorded and transcribed word by word.There have been discussions about the skills in mathematics in multilingual speaking students, and that their greatest obstacle of understanding mathematics is that they are being taught in another language than their own mother tongue.

They have been thinking of improving their way of work for several years but haven?t had the time to do so. Now they have realized they need to work more efficiently to able to grow further.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka vad elever i nionde klass har för syn på bildämnet, vad detta kan bero på och koppla detta till deras studiemotivation och bildämnets betydelse i dagens samhälle. För att granska detta utfördes litteraturstudier och sedan kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer ute på två skolor. I resultatet visade det sig att motivationen till stor del är lärarens ansvar och denna ska kunna motivera för sina elever varför bildämnet är viktigt i dagens visuella samhälle. Att bildämnet av många i samhället anses ha lägre status än de andra ämnena kan vara en orsak bakom ämnets bristfälliga resurser. Dessutom visade intervjuerna att arbete med digitala medier i bildundervisningen kan öka motivationen..

Stenebergs sockerbruk is a large log-timber construction, purpose built as a sugar refinery in 1739 and is one of Sweden's oldest industrial buildings constructed entirely out of wood. Despite receiving the status of a listed building (in Swedish: Byggnadsminne) in 1977, there exists today a surprisingly low amount of documentation of the building itself. In order to enhance the existing and lacking building documentation, this case study aims to shed light on the building's log-timber built frame, focusing on how it was constructed, how the long lengths of its walls were handled and what type of joinery and tools were used. A thorough investigation of the building is conducted on site, followed by gathering of information which is then presented through text and illustrations. The findings indicate the orientation of timbers, location of joints and scarfs as well as tool marks which together contribute to the forming of a basis of understanding of the building's construction..

I detta arbete tar vi upp bilden och bildämnets betydelse idag och hur det kan användas som ett verktyg för elevers lärande. Vårt syfte med detta arbete var att få fördjupad kunskap om bildens vikt och hur den kan vara ett hjälpmedel för övriga ämnen i skolan. I vår problemformulering ställer vi oss frågan hur pedagoger kan använda bilden som ett verktyg för att utveckla elevens lärande i skolan.Vår metod är kvalitativ och vi har intervjuat sju pedagoger med bildintresse och bildutbildning. I litteraturen och undersökningen har vi bland annat funnit att bilden är ett språk och att bilden är viktig för både elevers utveckling och för att stärka deras identitet. Bilden är också viktig för fantasin genom det kreativa skapandet.I detta arbete har vi kommit fram till att det behövs vidare forskning inom ämnet och att ämnets status behöver höjas för att målen i läro- och kursplaner ska uppnås..
