Syftet med denna studie är dels att utifrån mellanchefernas beskrivningar förstå vilket handlingsutrymme mellanchefer inom äldre- och handikappomsorgen har i sitt arbete och dels att beskriva hur de uppfattar sitt handlingsutrymme. Under de sista 30 åren har den kommunala äldre- och handikappomsorgen genomgått stora förändringar. Ansvaret för verkställandet av insatserna har delegerats till mellanchefer som nu driver fristående, resultatstyrda enheter. Nya managementidéer från USA och Storbritannien började under 90-talet slå igenom i Sverige och tanken var att mellancheferna skulle föra ett självständigt ledarskap och att de skulle ha tillgång till de resurser som behövdes för att driva verksamheterna effektivt. Resultatet i denna studie pekar på att mellancheferna uppfattar att de har ett stort handlingsutrymme, åtminstone i att bestämma över sin egen tid och hur politikernas och handläggarnas beslut ska verkställas.

The aim of this thesis is to explore the relationship between the surrounding world and the library with respect to the library?s need to provide a Library 2.0 web site. We also explore the relationship between the physical and the virtual library. Our research objects are the public libraries of Stockholm and the Umeå region, that maintain the web sites Biblioteket.se and minabibliotek.se respectively. By applying Dorte Skot-Hansen's theory of rationales we found that the Stockholm public library is acting in accordance with the experience rationale, whereas the libraries of Umeå are influenced by the instrumental rationale.

This is a study of the way power relationships change when women start to play candombe in Montevideo, Uruguay. Candombe is a type of music, which is traditionally played by men within the black minority in the country. This study has been done with an intersectional point of view, taking the social categories gender, class and ethnicity in account. The method used was participatory observation in a field study made in Montevideo between November 2008 and February 2009.This study?s main conclusions are that the power relationships change with the participation of women in candombe in several important ways: The women legitimize an alternative way to be a woman when they take the men?s role as a drum player.

The aim of the project is to develop a tool for a management system at the advertising agency ofConfetti. The company has during a longer period of time felt a need of introducing a quality and environmentalsystem but have a lack in resources of knowledge, time and money. Their goal is to have aconcrete documentation which describes their quality policy and the function of the activity.The work has been performed by mapping and analyzing the processes of the company according tothe process model with focus on one pilot process. New routines have been developed and documentedin a management system.Confetti would like their management system to fulfil the ISO-standard so that they eventually inthe future can be certified. Therefore a literature study has been done according to management systemsand standards.

The high debt levels experienced in European Countries have lead to academic interest in the deficit bias -the tendency for governments to run budget deficits and accumulate debt. In part one of this thesis a surveyof the economic literature on the origins and solutions to the deficit bias are conducted. The proposedinstitutional solution to the deficit bias in the form of Fiscal Policy Councils (FPC) are outlined and existingEuropean FPCs presented. Based on the works of Calmfors and Wren-Lewis (2011) the EuropeanCommission (EC) is defined as an FPC. Based on this survey, two hypothesis are formulated: (1) theforecasts of future macro-economic events and fiscal performance will differ between the national FPCs andthe national government.

In contemporary Sweden political participation among foreign-born Swedes is viewed as low and it is well known that foreign-born individuals do not use their voting rights to the same extent as the general population. At the same time there are numerous ethnic associations around the country who work with various activities involving political, democratic and integration issues. This study aims to study how four members of a Somali association regard, relate to and work with politics, democracy and integration. The study is based on these four people, but also on their relationship with authorities and other agencies in the community. The conclusion of this study shows in brief that the desire to participate politically is great, but that democracy and politics is accessible to all, depending on the level of language skills and what political knowledge the individual has.

Syftet med det examensarbete som genomförts har varit att kartlägga processen för att på egen hand lansera sin musik i form av ett fullängdsalbum tillgängligt att köpas både i form av digitala nedladdningar och som traditionell CD-skiva.I arbetet har vi bekantat oss med viktiga aspekter angående distributionsavtal, upphovsrätt, marknadsföring, design, foto, logotyper, texter och koder man bör känna till. En stor del av arbetet har även ägnats åt att förklara och utreda den sista delen i ljudbearbetningen - mastring. Dessutom har vi satsat på marknadsförning och exponering på Internet samt olika betalningslösningar som möjliggör skivans försäljning.För att erhålla de nödvändiga delarna i arbetsprocessen har kontakt upprättats med bland andra: IFPI, Grammotex, N©B och Dicentia.I rapporten får vi följa den progressiva rockgruppen Cap Outrun och deras väg till målet i form av en fallstudie..

AbstractThis paper will examine the co-operation culture in teacher work teams in a primary school currently undergoing reorganization in the Stockholm region. This inquiry is based on qualita-tive interviews with teachers and work team leaders, and is aiming to answer how teachers co-operate during the reorganization process, to find the factors that affect co-operation. Our results show that the two teams practice communication, leadership and participation very differently. Currently there are clear differences in the work team?s tendency to develop and to work with the reorganization process, pedagogic methods, social and emotional awareness and ideological beliefs.

The aim of this essay was to study children?s experiences of their participation in a programme for children who have a parent with a mental illness. The study was written at the request of the Psychosis care in Örebro and was accomplished by qualitative interviews with five children at the ages of 11 to 16 years old. Previous research concerning children who have a parent with a mental illness and programmes for these children is accounted for. Antonovsky´s conception KASAM together with the conceptions of guilt and shame were used as the theoretical frame, from which the results of the interviews were analysed.

Att lyckas med byggprojekt är det som alla inblandade i projektet strävar efter och är det slutliga målet. Definitionen av ?ett lyckat byggprojekt? är när det genomförts på ett sätt där alla parter är nöjda vilket gäller flera olika aspekter. Det främsta sättet att mäta framgången med ett projekt är ta reda på om kunden är nöjd. En nöjd kund innebär att budget och tidsplan hålls och för att uppnå detta finns ett antal faktorer som genomsyrar hela projektet, exempelvis engagemang, kommunikation och samverkan.

This study is based on three focus group interviews with minors living in Örnsköldsviks municipality. The aim is to investigate what minor individuals want to gain more influence in that concerns their citizenship rights. It also aims to investigate what obstacles there is in their surroundings that prevent them from influencing it. I have conducted semi-structured interviews with the focus groups. The theoretical framework consist of T.H Marshalls theories about citizenship, with the division of civil, political and social rights.

This thesis analyses how a radiology department at the largest hospital in Sweden, Karolinska University Hospital, most profitably could expand its capacity for investigating cancer patients using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The queues today for patients waiting to be scanned are long, which delays the start of cancer treatments. Meanwhile the hospital has a budget deficit of half a billion SEK, which make any expansion hard. In this thesis we evaluate the alternatives of investing in new machinery; utilize the current machinery better by using them more days annually or through a shift work system. Finally we evaluate a combination of these.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka lärares och rektors uppfattningar om att låta elever delta i planering av undervisning. Samt att diskutera vad det kan bero på att målet med att göra elever delaktiga i planering av undervisning inte uppfylls i enlighet med skolans styrdokument. Min förhoppning är att mitt arbete ska kunna fungera som underlag för vidare diskussioner inom skolan i syfte att göra eleverna mer delaktiga.   Metoden jag använt mig av är en kvalitativ metod där jag genomfört intervjuer med fyra lärare och en rektor på en och samma skola.    I mitt examensarbete kommer jag fram till att det beror främst på fyra orsaker, brist på diskussion om begreppen delaktighet och inflytande, brist på diskussion gällande begreppen demokrati och makt, att skolans kunskaps- och demokratiuppdrag hanteras fristående från varandra och att det beror på lärares och rektors egna inställningar, uppfattningar och kompetens..

AbstractIn my study I have investigated how a constructed outdoor green environment can beused, managed and how it works. The study also investigates the concept of socialsustainability, where, for example, civil dialogue is a method to promote this. Thisinvestigation mainly gives account for the inhabitants viewpoint but also a gardenersperspective. The study focuses on the planning process of the study object, what theoutcome has been and how the users of the green environment, think about the result. Inthe process there has been a strong concern of involving the residents and others usingthe area.

Att arbeta som enhetschef inom offentlig organisation kräver ett förhållningssätt som tar hänsyn till överordnade chefer, politiker och förvaltningschefer. Samtidigt är det viktigt att hänsyn tas till underställda medarbetare, klienter och anhöriga. Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka mellanchefers upplevelser av arbetssituationen och få förståelse för hur de hanterar kraven som kommer från överordnade chefer och underställda medarbetare, om det innebär en lojalitetskonflikt och hur de positionerar sin lojalitet. Uppsatsen är kvalitativ till sin karaktär med intervjuer utförda med enhetschefer för att ge dem möjlighet att belysa sin arbetssituation. För att få en teoretisk bakgrund till arbetet har tidigare forskning inom området använts som New Public Management, Karasek och Theorells krav-, kontroll och stöd modell samt Webers teorier om byråkrati och rationalitet.
