Vem syns i rutan? : En studie över SVT:s och TV4:s sportsändningar ur ett genusperspektiv
This report is an analysis from a gender perspective of more than three hundred minutes in sports Broadcasting on SVT and TV4. The study explains how air time is divided between male and female athletes as well as which sports, male or female, get the most air time. The sports are also categorized according to attitudes about the sports being masculine, feminine or neutral. In this way the study also shows the categories of sports that are given the most airtime.Our view before the study was that from a media perspective, the Swedish sports world was very male dominated. The results show that male athletes get more exposure than female athletes on both channels, this despite the fact that the membership of the Swedish sports clubs is fairly evenly divided between men and women. .
Annonsmediers miljöpåverkan : när ska miljön få en reklampaus?
The aim of the thesis was to investigate energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions from an advertisement broadcasted on the radio or the television or
distributed through press. The object was to calculate the amount of carbon dioxide emissions per individual receiver of an advertisement in Sweden. There was no room
for a deeper investigation into editorial work within the framework of the thesis.
Consequently, main focus of the radio and television study was on Broadcasting itself and the components involved. Focus for the press study was on paper production,
printing and distribution. Production and discarding of media equipment was not taken into account.

Denominantions are important to us because they are so closely tied to our identity. We may even get upset on behalf of others. A language reform concerning personal pronouns therefore affect many. The gender- neutral pronoun hen received much media attention in 2012.
Creation of a Pan-European Advertising: Myth or Reality?
In order to answer the question in the title, a cross-cultural analysis of two countries was done. Countries chosen were the Republic of Latvia and the Kingdom of Spain. The need for this research was suggested by increased cross-border business activities inside the European Union, and the lack of previous studies involving new Member States. The aim of the research was to see what environmental factors influence advertising adaptation in the European Union, as well as to evaluate the applicability of a standardisation approach. According to the theory, there are three external factors that influence the creation of a global advertising.
Nyhetsradio : Om skillnaderna i korta riksnyhetssändningar mellan två kommersiella radiostationer och public serviceradion.
The purpose of this BA-thesis was to learn the differences in news broadcasts between one public service radio channel and two commercial radio channels. To do this we used a quantitative analysis method to examine the content of the news broadcasts and then we conducted in-depth interviews with several people working with the different radio channels using a qualitative research interview method to learn their views on news and news Broadcasting.We measured the differences between the channels in six areas: subject, headline, news presentation, gender, advertising and sources.Our two main theories were normative theory and media logic.The results found that there were several major differences between the public service radio channel and the two commercial radio channels. Apart from several important differences in the six measured categories we also found that the sound and tone in the public service radio channel was very different from the two commercial radio channels.We also found the public service radio channels news broadcasts to be more serious than the two commercials ones?..
Ur ett genusperspektiv : En kvalitativ innehållsanalys av två utbildningsprogram: Home Farm Twins och Rena rama forntiden
Our aim with this study is to investigate whether or not Utbildningsradions - which is a public Broadcasting agency - educational programmes reproduce the existing gender patterns of the female and male genders. We have chosen to analyse two educational programmes, Home Farm Twins and Rena rama forntiden.We use a social constructionist theory regarding the construction and reproduction of gender and the method we have chosen to use is a qualitative content analysis to study the educational programmes.Our conclusion is that in the case of Home Farm Twins, it reproduces the current stereotypes that exist in society. Rena rama forntiden on the other hand does not, the program has got a clear gender perspective in regards to its content. Though it can be said that in some ways it does not reflect upon the gender patterns that exist in society today, to a satisfactionary extent.Utbildningsradion does not achieve its policy concerning Home Farm Twins, but on the other hand it shows that in the case of Rena rama forntiden they do own up to the standards regarding cultural diversity and creative aim..
Vad orsakar höga ammoniumvärden i ensilage? :
High levels of ammonia in grass silage have been up for discussion by Swedish advisers. One
reason is that it is more difficult for the rumen-microbes to utilise high levels of ammonia. A
low level of ammonia is also good because if the cattle can use more of the protein in the
silage, they don?t need so much protein concentrate. That is very good for the economy at the
farm, and it is also good for the environmental problems caused by high levels of ammonia.
In this project, 24 samples of silage have been taken at 20 different farms in the south west of
Sweden.
Från apparat till App : Public service i ett förändrat medielandskap
This Bachelor thesis is a qualitative study of the public debate regarding the role of Public service in the media converged society today. The purpose of this thesis is to examine how the public debate, that is the Swedish Public service television and people with broad representative knowledge about Public service, motivates a change of the function of the Swedish Public service television.Our issues are: What does the public debate say about the function of Swedish Public service television in our society today and how is a change motivated in this debate? How does the public debate look upon today´s media convergence and the fragmentation of the audience which, according to Denis McQuail, is a consequence of this?The method of this thesis is a qualitative analysis and we have analyzed ten opinion articles and Swedish Public service television magazine ?DittSvt?. The theoretical background was obtained from Henry Jenkins and Håkan Hvitfelts theories and thoughts about mediaconvergence. We have supplemented this with Denis McQuails theory regarding the fragmentation of the audience.In this thesis, we see that the public debate is a lot about diversity in Swedish Public service television programming and that the democratic base is still very important.
Utvärdering av ljudkvalitet i fordon: projektering av metod och lyssningsrum
Ljud påverkar oss vid valet av produkt mer eller mindre medvetet och är en indikator på en produkts kvalitet. Vikten av god ljudkvalitet hos företagets produkter är alltså en faktor att konkurrera med. För att veta om att man är på rätt väg vid produktutveckling är därför lyssningstest ett sätt att försäkra sig om att man uppnått konsumenternas förväntningar angående ljudkvaliteten hos sin produkt. I detta arbete beskrivs de akustiska faktorer som påverkar ljudets autenticitet vid återgivningen vid de olika återgivningsmetoder som går att använda sig av vid lyssningstest. Beroende på om hörlurar eller högtalare används ställs olika krav på akustiken i rummet.
Pandemin som hotar Sverige : En undersökning av hur risken för svininfluensan framställs i kvart-i-fem-ekot.
The aim of this thesis has been to examine how the risk for the swine flu was represented in the Swedish Radio news broadcast Ekot 16.45 during different phases of the pandemic in 2009. We wanted to study how the risk was described in different discourses and periods? Were the participants in the reporting calming or warning the listeners in relations to different aspects of the swine flu? What consequences for the community were reported in the Broadcasting?To find the answers to our questions, we analysed 13 features about the swine flu broadcasted in Ekot?s main news broadcast Ekot 16.45. We used critical discourse analysis inspired by Norman Fairclough.We identified four types of discourses in our text, a journalistic discourse, a medical discourse, a nationalistic discourse and an authority discourse. The main discourse was the medical one.

The Swedish public service TV Broadcasting company, Sveriges Television (SVT) advertises itself as purveyor of free television, without commercial or political interference. A B-level essay, written some years ago, showed that the SVT policies were not always observed throughout the entire organisation. The aim of this essay is, by using quantitative research, to study whether SVT is letting commercial interests have their say in the programmes by exposing brand names and logotypes.Material/method: The study is performed through examining 40 hours of television from SVT and 40 hours from TV4, as reference.
En granskning av Utbildningsradions program ur ett mångfaldsperspektiv : En kvantitativ innehållsanalys av 50 program för årskurser 0-3
Utbildningsradion (Swedish Educational Broadcasting Company) is a public service broadcaster with a mandate to produce and distribute educational programmes. 80% of Swedish teachers use its products either during lessons or for professional development. Utbildningsradion?s guidelines, set by the Swedish parliament and government, state that the company?s programmes should meet the interests of the country?s whole population, regardless of their background.The purpose of this study is to examine how Utbildningsradion?s products that are intended to be used in a classroom setting for ages 6 to 9 represent the variety of children that live in Sweden and thus reflect the aforementioned guidelines. The main focus of this research project was further defined to only include the company?s television programmes produced in Sweden between 2006 and 2011 that do not have social issues as the main subject.50 programmes were analyzed using quantitative content analysis and the following results were further interpreted using mainly Kydd?s and Snead?s models for discussing representation.
"Ett lugnt hörn när det är kaos i världen" : en studie om varför barnprogrammet Bolibompa ser ut som det gör under och dagarna efter en katastrof
This study intends to examine why the Swedish children?s programme Bolibompa is produced the way it is during a larger catastrophe. Our intention was to find out how the editorial staff, in the children?s department in the public service television of Sweden (SVT),was handling the Estonia disaster, the September 11 attacks and the Asian Tsunami. To accomplish that, we first had to find out how the children?s programme looked during these catastrophes and also understand how the editorial staff was working with children?s programme during ordinary days.To achieve our purpose we have been interviewing five persons from SVT, who was involved in producing the children?s programme during these three catastrophes.
Ljudnivåhantering i svensk television
De flesta klagomål TV-bolag får in från tittare handlar om den upplevda ljudnivåskillnaden mellan program och kanaler. Speciellt irriterande är övergången mellan program och reklam/trailers. Därför har detta examensarbete studerat de svenska TV-kanalerna SVT1, TV3, TV4 och Kanal 5 i avseende att belysa detta problem och dess orsaker. Arbetet har utgått ifrån The European Broadcasting Unions mätstandard för ljudnivånormalisering: loudness recommendation EBU R128. Denna innefattar algoritmer för hur den perceptuella ljudnivån bör mätas och riktlinjer för hur dessa nivåer bör hanteras. I utredningen har intervjuer, mätmetoder och användartester genomförts för att besvara hur kanalerna förhåller sig till ljudnivånormalisering enligt EBU R128 samt om kanalernas nuvarande ljudnivåbehandling är tillfredsställande för tittarna. Resultatet visar att ingen kanal ännu implementerat EBU R128.
