Examensarbete gjordes för Primus AB som konstruerar och tillverkar friluftskök. Examensarbetet syftade till att utreda vilka utvecklingsmöjligheter som fanns för dagens brännare till friluftskök.Efter analys av befintliga brännare identifierades utvecklingsmöjligheter för att justera brännarens lågmönster och därmed diameter. Med ett korrekt lågmönster i förhållande till storleken på kokkärlet som används kan tillagningstiden och energiförbrukningen effektiviseras.En grundlig genomsökning av patentdokumentation genomfördes för att skapa en överblick av befintliga lösningar på ämnet. Patentdokumentationen fungerade även som inspiration för konceptgenereringsfasen.Sex koncept togs fram som på olika sätt styr lågans diameter. Funktionsprototyper på koncepten konstruerades och utvärderades.Den slutliga lösningen som togs fram bygger på en brännare med två fasta lågmönster.

The forests of Sweden are constantly changing. Map studies indicate that the amount of deciduous trees in Sweden has decreased in recent years in favor of the coniferous trees. The National Forest Inventory has since the early 1920s monitored the Swedish forests and in recent years has made the old data digitally available. In the present project, we have investigated how the numbers of stems in different diameter classes have changed for birch and other deciduous trees. The inventory was conducted in the same manner as in the first forest inventory.

The purpose of this paper is to explore branch librarians? ideals for mediating fiction and their view on the literature that are distributed by the Swedish Arts council. The study is based on the following questions: How do branch librarians reflect about mediating fiction? How do they express their view and their work with literature that are distributed by the Swedish Arts council? And which ideals of mediating can be distinguished from these expressions? To answer these questions a qualitative examination based on interviews with four branch librarians where used. The empiric material where then analysed by Jofrid Karner Smidt?s theory about different ideals for mediating fiction.

Method: Data is collected thru a number of semi constructed interviews. A first telephone interview was followed by an interview made face to face that was also followed up by interviews performed over telephone. E-mails have been used to clear and correct collected data.

En ny medicinteknisk produkt, ett resorberbart, kirurgiskt buntband (LigaTie®) för ligering av kärl har utvecklats vid Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet. En pilotstudie genomfördes för att undersöka begränsningsområdet med avseende på minsta möjliga kärldiameter som kan ligeras med produkten. Djurmaterialet i detta terminala in vivo-försök utgjordes av en sövd hund. Icke resorberbart band, som formsprutats i samma form som LigaTie®, fördes runt kärl tillhörande krös, mjälte och njurar. Bandets ände fördes genom den låsmekanism som finns i bandets andra ände.

A piezoelectric injector was modeled, in this Master Thesis Project which was carried out at Scania CV AB in Södertälje, in GT-Fuel. GT-Fuel is simulation program from Gamma Technology.The simulation model for the piezo injector was divided into a hydro-mechanical system and an electrical system (Piezoelectric element). First the hydro-mechanic model was duplicated from Advance Continuous Simulation Language model (ACSL). The simulation results were then compared to the ACSL, to verify that the hydro-mechanical system was modeled correctly. The simulation results for the electrical model were also compared with a Simulink model.

The purpose of this study was to estimate the removal of biomass in connection with thinning operations in young stands that are dominated by small diameter trees. The economy of such operations depends on the products generated as well as the performance of the harvesting systems. Conversion tables designed to predict the outcome based on harvesting method was another goal of this study. Removal of biomass affects the nutrient composition of the site. Therefore it is a purpose that this study will provide researchers with some variables that can be utilized when studying this aspect. Trees were harvested and divided into bunches based on diameter.

Skyddandet av gamla skogar med höga naturvärden är en viktig del i bevarandet av den biologiska mångfalden. För att kunna lokalisera och kvalitetsbedöma skogar med höga naturvärden används signalarter. En av dessa signalarter är Lecanactis abietina, gammelgranslav. Syftet med denna studie är att identifiera vilka faktorer som påverkar förekomst av signalarten L. abietina och täckningsgraden av apothecier.

Forest biomass is becoming an increasingly important source of renewable energy, and thereby the demand is increasing. There is currently 213 000 km of forest roads in Sweden that could be suitable for biomass harvesting. Harvest of biomass along forest roads both provides biomass and maintains the quality of the roads. Currently, the volume of biomass along roads can only be assessed post harvest, chipping and industry deliverance. As the decision of whether or not to harvest should preferably be based on more than experience, the TJ-method has been proposed. The TJ-method is a subjective method to quickly determine the dry matter quantity with the assessment being conducted from the roadside.

Forest management contributes to the changes in forest structure by turning heterogenous forests of varied age into homogenous forests of similar age and thus affect bird species depending on different structures or habitats which are lost during forestry. In this report, a study was made to investigate how the amount of decidious trees, dead wood and variation in tree diameter affect bird diversity. The purpose of this study was to be able to give forest management guidelines to increase bird diversity. This study was conducted by investigating 65 transects in forests of different structure south of Linköping, Sweden. Along the 65 transects, birds were inventoried as well as the vegetation.

SUMMARYEnvironmental issues are currently a hot topic of debate. Studies within the optics branch have not specifically been conducted previously, so the aim of this study was to determine the extent of environmental-awareness specifically within this branch.A survey, consisting of questions relating to environmental issues, was distributed to 100 randomly-selected opticians in Sweden. Of these 100 surveys, 64 were returned and showed a varied branch-engagement for environmental issues.Results of this survey showed that opticians were best in sorting newspapers, magazines, other paper and hazardous waste. Metal and rigid plastic were not sorted to any larger extent.Choosing environmentally-safe products was not so popular and only six stores always do this. 25 shops turn off electrical machines and equipment over night; while the majority of the remaining stores leave the machines on during the night.27 stores did not know if their electrical company provided ?green electricity?.Results showed that there is a lot of work to be done in making the stores more environmentally friendly.

This thesis work was divided in three parts: The first was to find a relation between the net volume from the first thinning and the cost of cleaning undergrowth trees. Secondly there was a follow-up in the field, to investigate whether the contractors have done the undergrowth cleaning according to Mellanskog?s directives.

Stump harvest could be found in the late 1970?s and the early 1980?s. And now when the prices on energy are high it has become an interesting topic again. This work has been conducted within Holmen Skog?s stump harvest testing in Norrköping.
