This report is a study in voltagelevel in connection with regeneration of brake energy from the tramtype M31 in Gothenburg.In the act of braking, the tram M31 uses electrical braking where the electrical motors generates energy and if possible send it back to the overheadline, where other trams in the nearby can use this regenerated energy for its own driving force. Diagnostiska test i Biologi för kartläggning av elevers förkunskaper in i gymnasieskolan
Syfte: Syftet med detta examensarbete är att kartlägga förkunskaperna i områdena fotosyntes, biologisk mångfald, växthusgaser, energi och hållbar utveckling, samt evolution och naturligt urval hos gymnasieelever som läser ämnet Biologi 1 på det naturvetenskapliga programmet på en gymnasieskola i västra Götaland. Syftet är också att utvärdera betydelsen av diagnostiska test för dessa elever och deras lärare. Avsikten är även att presentera möjliga förslag till att utnyttja resultaten av dessa test för att på bästa sätt kunna hjälpa de elever som har svårigheter i eller ligger i riskzonen för att ha svårigheter i dessa kunskapsområden i Biologi.
Metod och genomförande: Undersökningen har dels genomförts med en diagnostisk test, dels genom intervjuer av tre lärare på gymnasieskolan. Eleverna har även fått två analysfrågor som berörde deras uppfattningar om användandet av denna test inom ämnet Biologi.
Resultat: Resultatet visar att eleverna har bristande förkunskaper inom områdena fotosyntes och betydelse av växthusgaser. Både elever och intervjuade lärare är positivt inställda till diagnostisk test i Biologi.

Reliabilitets- och validitetsprövning av Modifierad Self-efficacy Scale för patienter med långvarig smärta
Syfte: Studiens syfte var att reliabilitetspröva stabiliteten för M-SES för patienter med långvarig smärta genom test-retest metoden. Syftet var även att undersöka samtidig validitet för M-SES, genom att utföra M-SES och SES mätt vid samma tillfälle.Metod: I studien undersöktes self-efficacy instrumentet M-SES på Uppsala Akademiska sjukhus, på avdelningarna för Smärtcentrum och Smärtrehabilitering. Frågeställningarna berörde vilken stabilitets reliabilitet mätt med test-retest som förelåg hos M-SES, samt vilken grad av samtidig validitet som förelåg för M-SES korrelerat med SES. Den slutliga undersökningsgruppen bestod i frågeställningen om stabilitets reliabilitet av 29 patienter (23 kvinnor, sex män), och i frågeställning om samtidig validitet av 22 patienter (17 kvinnor, fem män).Resultat: Vid prövning av stabilitets reliabilitet för M-SES visade resultatet en stark korrelation, med korrelationskoefficient 0,92 och p<0,05. Det förelåg även en god överrensstämmelse för test-retest undersökningen.
Bibliotekskatalogers användarvänlighet : en usabilitystudie av Umeå Universitetsbiblioteks katalog Album
The purpose of this thesis is to examine the usability of the Umeå University library catalogue Album. The aim is to evaluate the catalogue in order to establish if there are any problems that could be solved by modifying the catalogue. The following questions are answered: How should a good catalogue be designed? Which problems are common when using a library catalogue? Is Album user friendly? Are there any problems that occur when using Album and how can the catalogue be changed to avoid the problems? To answer these questions I have performed a usability test in which five persons, all students, got to carry out twenty tasks in the catalogue and talk about what they were doing and thinking while doing the test. This method is a usability method called Think Aloud.

Läkemedelsresistens är ett växande globalt problem. Inte minst bland parasiter hos våra djur har rapporter om utebliven effekt av läkemedel ökat. Pålitliga detektionsmetoder av anthelmintikaresistens hos nematoder är viktig så att åtgärder sätts in i ett tidigt skede för att djurvälfärd och produktion ej försämras. Detta kräver standardiserade och beprövade detektionsmetoder. De metoder som används idag för flertalet nematoder är ursprungligen framtagna och anpassade för strongylider hos får.

Technology evolves quickly, with innovative ideas growing everywhere. Still, no technology is anywhere near challenging the mouse and keyboard for navigation of your standard computer. This study focuses on comparing the traditional technologies of mouse and keyboard with the new technology of gestures - in this case Leap Motion - in purpose of finding how the usage differs and what the potential users want from the competing technology. The experiment was executed in a controlled environment, with as few external factors as possible. We found that although the test subjects found Leap Motion fun, the test subjects do not want to surf the web with gestures.
Utveckling och dimensionering av en lastupptagande provningsram
ÅF Test Center in Borlänge had a need to expand their capacity for compressive and tensile strength tests. They wanted to do this by using a hydraulic cylinder, which they already possessed, to apply the force with. This required a load receiving structure. The aim of this work was to design and dimensioning a test bench for a cylinder marked NIKE 300 tons. The work would result in a completed design proposal on a test bench which could manage to run the compressive and tensile strength tests of up to 3000 kN.

Swedish students' knowledge of both mathematics and reading comprehension has deteriorated in recent years. Scientists are discussing whether there is a connection between these areas and that the pupils deteriorating math skills may have something to do with their increasingly lower results in terms of reading comprehension. To investigate this possible connection, I conducted a survey among students in ninth grade and have come to the conclusion that the scientists are right: this connection absolutely exist. Students who received a high score on tasks designed to test students' mathematical problem-solving skills, also received high results on the reading comprehension test. And students who received a poor performance on the problem-solving tasks, were also low performers in the reading comprehension test.
