The purpose of this review was to study the cow eye physiology, focusing on how it registers light, and to see how light affects the cow?s milk yield. It has been showed in studies that more hours of light per day (16 hours of light a day) as opposed to about 9-12 hours of light a day, increases milk yield for dairy cows. This review contains suggestions on how this is connected with the physiology of the eye. Vision is an important sense for many mammals, and is used to check out the animals surroundings. Sensor cells in the eyeball help in turning photons from the light into signals to the brain.

Detta är en litteraturstudie av sjukdomen Devil Facial Tumour Disease (DFTD) som drabbar tasmansk djävul. De lever i vilt tillstånd på ön Tasmanien som ligger utanför Australiens södra kust. Tasmanska djävular är köttätande pungdjur i ungefär samma storlek som en rödräv. De är nattaktiva och lever ensamma, förutom vid konkurrens om föda och under parningsperioden då de möter andra tasmanska djävular. Vid dessa möten blir det ofta slagsmål för att göra upp rangordningen. DFTD ger stora tumörer i munhåla, ansikte och halsregion samt eventuella metastaser.

The histiocytic diseases are generally rare in dogs and not much is known about the disease. The disease complex that includes both a reactive form and a tumour form, is however common in certain breeds, among them the Bernese Mountain Dog. As the literature is very limited on the subject of histiocytic diseases, my aim with this thesis has been to gather current knowledge of these diseases. I have also attempted to estimate the frequency of the diseases among the Swedish Bernese Mountain Dogs and investigate if they appear to be more common among certain families..

This thesis is about practising on a different level to get an insight to what techniques might work for me as a double bass player. It is about discovering how to use your brain into playing at your best level. I practised both talking and singing to myself and read a lot about thinking and hearing not only the music but every note before playing. The thesis idea came from not having a technique that worked for me while practising alone. The study was conducted in Jönköping County Chamber of fibrillation and is about change and improvement of process modeling technology. The process for treating patients with fibrillation is in the need to evolve and improve. In order to develop the care they needed a current state description which usually is made with the traditional process modeling tool.Many scientists and health professionals is in the opinion that this technology gives a too rigid image to describe the care processes. It also does not sufficiently take into account the human aspects. This reasoning suggests that the process modeling technology in healthcare is in the need to develop multiple perspectives.

Nipahvirus is most likely spread from bats to other species and causes lethal encephalitis in humans and respiratory illness in pigs. Different species are affected with varying severity but it seems to have an unprecedented zoonotic capacity and the humans affected either die or receive permanent brain damage. Full recovery is possible but very uncommon. Pigs that live and are bread in the areas that these bats frequent are constantly in danger of contracting pneumonias and meningitis and they can spread the virus further on to the people who work with the pigs and process their carcasses. Kunskapen är bristande gällande hur sväljfunktionen förändras över tid hos personer med Parkinsons sjukdom, endast ett fåtal studier finns inom området. SyfteSyftet med studien var att undersöka den faryngeala sväljfunktionen under 1 års tid hos personer med Parkinsons sjukdom. Vi hade för avsikt att med hjälp av fiberendoskopisk sväljundersökning bedöma sväljparametrarna penetration/aspiration, residual och sekret. Deltagarnas subjektiva upplevelse av sväljfunktionen bedömdes utifrån självskattning med hjälp av en visuell analog skala.

SAMMANFATTNINGBakgrund Traumatisk skallskada drabbar relativt många och leder till personligt lidande och finansiell belastning för individ och samhälle då majoriteten får en svår till medelsvår funktionsnedsättning efter vårdtiden. På 1970-talet påvisades ett signifikant samband mellan högt ICP och sekundära hjärnskador. I studier där ICP >20 mmHg har förekommit kunde signifikant sämre utfall ses.Syfte Syftet med studien var att med hjälp av omvårdnadsprocessen observera intensivvårdssjuksköterskans identifiering och vidtagande av omvårdnadsåtgärder vid ett högt ICP samt utvärdera de utförda omvårdnadsåtgärderna. Metod Prospektiv tvärsnittsundersökning, där sju intensivvårdssjuksköterskor och fem patienter observerades med hjälp av ett observationsformulär.Resultat 51(73 %) av de höga ICP normaliserades inom en minut och intensivvårdssjuksköterskan uppskattades ha observerat högt ICP i 50(71 %) av tillfällena inom en minut. 19(27 %) tillfällen observerades inte och 11(65 %) av omvårdnadsåtgärderna skedde inom en minut. Omvårdnadsåtgärder som utfördes var administrering av bolusdos med läkemedel (35 %) eller dränera likvor (35 %).

The purpose of this work is to map what inspiration means to people who work with music, how it feels when you are inspirated compared to how it feels when you`re not. How does inspiration affect us? Are we depending on it? What do you do when you lack inspiration? Is it possible to ?inspire? one self? My method has been to interview eight persons, selected by me, who all work with music. I have used literature, for instance about our intelligence, and also different theories on the subject of inspiration. The results of the interviews show that our experiences of inspiration are individual.
