LinjenÀtsutredning i TÀby kommun.
The public transport network in TĂ€by commune consists currently of two types of bus line of whichboth belong to the category of feeder lines. The first type terminates at Danderyds sjukhus and feedsto the subway whereas the second type terminates at TĂ€by centrum and feeds to Roslagsbanan, asuburban narrow-gauge railway system in northern Stockholm. The trunk bus line that connectsgreater parts of the commune with Danderyd is the ring line 604 and goes both clockwise (604H) andcounterclockwise (604V). The main negative aspect of this structure is the complicity in incorporatingit timetable-wise with other bus lines that share the same route, such as through Enebyberg. The goal of this project is to investigate the possibilities of splitting ring line 604 and connecting theends to two different bus routes that terminate at TĂ€by centrum today. Apart from easing thecoordination with other bus lines through Enebyberg, the extension also creates new directconnections from various areas in TĂ€by to Danderyds sjukhus.
Gestaltning av boendelandskapet i grÀnsen mellan stad och land : exemplet NorrÀnga i Lund
This is a 20 credit Master thesis within the landscape architecture education at the Institute for Landscape Planning at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences at Alnarp.
NorrÀnga is situated on the fringe of the city of Lund, east of the existing district of Linero. The city planning office of Lund municipality has come up with a ?in-depth comprehensive plan? for the exploatation of the eastern area of Lund. The plan concerns an area of 1035 square kilometre which contains at least 1500 nya buildings, two schools, primaryschools, stores and bus station for local bus traffic and the new bus line - LundalÀnken. The townplan is inspired from the historical Square block city with defined street system. The municipality has visions of what the green areas should consist of.
Friluftsliv i staden : tillfÀllig landskapsarkitektur pÄ sex platser i Linköping 3-15 april 2012
The subject of this project focuses on how
Landscape Architects by their profession can
explore and directly make a difference in the
cityscape. This paper documents the process of art -
based research practice. The purpose of installing
temporary activities is to encourage people in the
city to discover, participate and invite people to be
more playful in the city.
My experience of interaction in public spaces comes
primarily from the education within landscape
architecture, from site-specific art installations I have
performed in different cities and from observations
of landscape architecture, street art and urban life in
the cities of Vienna, Berlin and Linköping. It is
fascinating and inspiring to see how the urban space
can invite and allow visitors to participate and
therefore feel invited to the open space. As a
landscape architect I wish to create urban spaces
that are useful and inspiring for their visitors.
The projects main question: How can you make
temporary landscapes that encourage outdoorinspired
activities at selected locations in the city? is
answered by practice based research, an approach
in which theoretical research are developed through
practical experiments in the designing- and
implementation process.
Magnesium chloride in dry cow silage to prevent hypocalcaemia
Milk fever, or parturient paresis, is the second most common disease in Swedish dairy cows. The disorder is associated with the onset of lactation when some cows are unable to meet the metabolic demands of calcium to support milk production and therefore develop a state of hypocalcaemia. Clinical hypocalcaemia (milk fever) may lead to coma and death in severe cases but subclinical hypocalcaemia has also been shown to have negative effects on e.g. feed intake and production and to increase the susceptibility of the cow to develop secondary diseases. The nutritional strategy applied precalving is of great importance in preventing milk fever and e.g.
GrÀsrotsplanering frÄn femte vÄningen : eller tankar kring exploateringen av Stockholms ytterstad
This essay is about the planning of Stockholm's border regions (areas on the outskirts of the city) during the first seven years of the 21st century. It describes how planning decisions are made in reality, in respect to a 'green' perspective. By describing what a "markanvisning" is (the right to negotiate with the city about a certain piece of land) and by discussing examples of what has happened
with a hundred applications for markanvisning, this essay shows how Stockholm's border regions are planned. In the majority of cases it is the initiative
of the future developers that begin the planning and construction processes.
Research shows that the application to get a markanvisning in Stockholm does not follow a clear, structured system. However, the existing system in Stockholm does work and it seems like almost all the employees within the municipality, the politicians, and the future proprietors are happy with the current situation.
Interviews have been held with key individuals involved in the planning process.

1. Reaction on burial depth and nitrogen availability and placement in competition with a crop
In this trial it was investigated how couch grass (Elymus repens) changes its ability to compete in stands of wheat and barley with different burial depth and different amounts and placement of nitrogen. More knowledge in this area can be valuable in the attempt to decrease the use of herbicides and still keep the weeds under control.
The trial was carried out in the summer of 2004 as an outdoor pot experiment. The pots contained 15 litres of soil with a surface of 0,06 m2.
English Arts and Crafts gardens and how they can be modernised in Sweden
The aim with this thesis was to investigate what characterises an English
Arts and Crafts garden how they could be modernised in Sweden. My
research was limited to 20 weeks of full-time writing and worth 30 ECTS.
Through literature studies, interviews and site visits I could analyse my
findings which resulted in a concrete garden design project.
The Arts and Crafts was a movement that started in England during the
1880?s and evolved as a reaction towards the industrialisation. The influence
came from the writings and practices of John Ruskin (1819-1900)
and William Morris (1834-1896) who advocated the importance of craftsmanship.
The Arts and Crafts movement also became a ?recipe for life?
and was associated with a healthy and morally pure way of living.
