The reason behind this essay has been to study if previous research is relevant for Jehovah?s Witnesses in Sweden and see if secularization has affected the organization or not. The empirical material is made from two qualitative group- interviews and open observations during two meetings in the Kingdom Hall. These studies were performed in Oskarshamn and Mönsterås during the month of February. The reason that these studies have been limited to Oskarshamn and Mönsterås is mainly because they were the only ones willing to do an interview.  According to previous research by James A.

Denna studies syfte är att undersöka hur elever och deras bildlärare idag uppfattar bildämnet i en svensk skola samt lust som motivation. Ett socialt konstruktivistiskt samt progressivistiskt perspektiv på lärande och Peter Gärdenfors forskning om lust som motivation är denna studies teoretiska utgångspunkter. Den empiriska studien har pågått under fyra veckor på ett svenskt högstadium. Kvantitativa enkäter och kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer har genomförts med sex elever och två lärare. Resultatet från den empiriska undersökningen har analyserats och tolkats kvantitativt och kvalitativt.

Examensarbetet utfördes hos Syntronic Software Innovations (SSI) i Gävle och det är utifrån deras specifikationer och krav som systemet har utvecklats. Denna uppsats redogör för hur ett sådant webbsystem kan utvecklas, samt vilka tekniker och verktyg som finns tillgängliga idag lämpar sig bäst för ändamålet. För att kunna svara på dessa frågor kommer forskningsmetoden design science att användas.

This master thesis summarizes contemporary theories on secularization processes in the Western world, and compares these with the example of Sweden, which by many scholars is considered to be the most secularized country in the Western world.I do this by dividing the most influential theorists in five different groups. In each group I explain how the theorists formulate and motivate their positions. These groups are:1) The secularization paradigm, where secularization always accompanies modernization. (Therorists: Steve Bruce and Peter Berger (in the 1960s)2) The paradigm basically accepted, but revised to depend on existential security, rather than modernisation as such. (Pippa Norris and Ronald Inglehart)3) Religion returned in the public sphere.

IT is a natural part of the work today when it comes to projects. There are many aspects that are wholly or partly dependent on IT support actions to proceed efficiently. Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att undersöka attityder till könsneutralt språk, med fokus på könsneutrala pronomen som ?hen? och yrkestitlar.- Vilka attityder har studenter på socionomprogrammet till könsneutralt språk?- Hur medvetna är studenter på socionomprogrammet om relationen mellan språket och könsmaktsordningen?Datainsamlingsmetoden har varit fokusgrupper, där deltagarna läst igenom ett stimulusmaterial i form av två versioner av samma text, dels i original och dels med ett könsneutralt språk. Detta har analyserats dels efter en dekonstruktion i tre komponenter av attitydbegreppet, samt med en diskursteoretisk ansats som utgår från antagandet att det existerar en könsmaktsordning i samhället idag och att denna är en diskursiv ordning som informanterna förhåller sig till i talet om och kring kön och språk. I resultatet framkommer att det finns en positiv inställning till ett könsneutralt språk, men också att det finns en vaksamhet för hur det kommer att påverka nyanserna i det språk vi har dag, samt hur man ska förhålla sig till människor då det blir svårare att i förväg ta reda på könet hos en person. Här finns också exempel på hur informanterna lägger makten över könsmaktsordningen, och språket, utanför sig själva.

The aim of my study is to investigate if and in that case how the writing process and texts written by students in the upper secondary school are affected by the writing tool; does it matter if they write their texts on a computer or by longhand? Another objective is to compare such an effect with the findings of previous studies performed on earlier generations of writers. The first part of my study was a survey. It showed that two thirds of the 67 students participating thought that they would have written better texts in the national writing test if they had been able to use computers. In the second part of the study each of the fourteen participants wrote one text on computer and another by hand.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate if pulsed inhaled nitric oxide (PiNO) could be used as a treatment for hypoxemia during general anaesthesia in colic horses. Previous studies have shown a positive response in horses receiving PiNO in comparison to controls, but these studies have only included healthy individuals. A total of 30 horses were included in this present study, they all underwent abdominal surgery because of acute colic that could not be medically treated. Fifteen of the horses received PiNO and 15 horses served as a control group. Arterial oxygenation was improved in all horses receiving PiNO.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how genealogists create identity through their own research, and how they live with their ancestors in the everyday life. The questions at issue are: How do genealogists deal with concepts like ?native home district?, ?heritage? and ?family?. Does it exist a problem in creating identity and how genealogists regard other people with a different background, for instance immigrants. This thesis consists of three parts: in the first I present my aim, questions at issue, my method with qualitative interviews, and my theoretical frame from sociology and anthropology.

This study is not written from the viewpoint of business economics, it is rather a study from a cultural and social studies perspective. The main purpose of this C-essay is to answer the question: What have been the consequences and effects of the merit point system on language studies and the parties concerned (teachers, students and principals) during the school year of 2010/11?The merit point system is the result of a political decision and was implicated for the first time in the Swedish upper secondary school during the school year 2010/2011. Being a completely new phenomenon it is of great interest and importance to study its effects.The study in this essay also aims to verify, falsify or nullify two hypotheses very often referred to in the political discussions regarding the merit point system:The merit point system will replace affection and interest as main reasons for language studies in upper secondary school and cause a rectification amongst the students choices of additional courses.The merit point system will have a segregating effect upon society and make it harder for people to rise in society through education in the future.A verification of these hypotheses would imply the appearance of an increased rectification amongst students as well as an orientation towards an in the future more segregated society.The empiric material has been collected and examined with qualitative as well as quantitative methods (questionnaires and interviews) and belongs epistemologically to the phenomenological and hermeneutical traditions..
