Den här uppsatsen behandlar ett konstnärlig projekt i vilken upphovsmannen arrangerade ett antal låtar ur afroamerikansk tradition för symfoniorkester. Syftet var att undersöka arbetsprocessen vid överföring av denna typ av musik till detta specifika medium. Metoden som användes var skisser och intervjuer med professionellt verksamma arrangörer som underlag för att skapa och analysera det konstnärliga materialet. This essay comprises a study of the bridal crowns of Tjust, with respect to their national history, concept and aspect of mythological symbol. The tradition of bearing the parochial bridal crown is closely associated with religious medieval politics, and has also come to include elements of superstition and folklore. Attention is paid to these aspects dealing with the position of the bridal crown within current forms of tradition and culture and the impact on brides of this day and age. The aim of this study is to explore the approach and views on female genital mutilation(FGM) among young women from Somalia, and how they perceive the tradition afterimmigration to Sweden. This is structured under the following questions: What do theyknow about FGM? What are their experiences? And what do they reckon about FGMtoday? The study is based on one recorded interview with a group of young femalesfrom Somalia. The data were analysed using qualitative content analysis. The women?sfeelings were ambivalent though they on one hand opposed FGM because of serioushealth risks, but on the other hand were conscious of the tradition?s great influence inthe social network and daily life.

Different ways of naming the two pitches between A and C exist in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The Germanic tradition uses B and H, whereas the Anglo-Saxon tradition uses Bb and B. The aim of this study was to present a survey of the various opinions regarding these pitch names. I den här uppsatsen undersöks sju texter om den svenska författarinnan Karin Boye (1900?1941), publicerade mellan åren 1989 och 2013. Utifrån feministisk litteratur- och bio­grafi­forsk­ning av Gunilla Domellöf och Lisbeth Larsson diskuteras att och hur perso­nen Boye och biografiska läsningar av hennes skönlitterära produk­tion fort­farande int­resserar.Bland resultaten finns slutsatsen att Boyes texter fortfarande ofta läses som själv­bio­grafiska, men att bilden av henne omarbetats; Boye betraktas inte längre som sjuk, till skillnad från 1950-talets sexualisering och patologisering av kvinnliga författare. Istäl­let benämns hon lesbisk och den direkta kopplingen mellan hennes sexualitet och hennes självmord är borta. Avsikten i hennes själv­mord ifrågasätts dessutom, vilket ytterligare för­ändrar bilden av Boye.En övergripande slutsats är att samma teman som var aktuella under mitten av 1900-talet, såsom sexualitet, psyke och självmord, återkommer i omvärderad form när Boye blir läst och biograferad idag.

This study deals with questions about male and female, power and church, related to the Mariologies of three prominent leaders in the Church of Sweden in the last century: Erling Eidem, Paulina Mariadotter and Cristina Grenholm. The mentioned topics are important for conservative High Church people as well as for radical feminists, and they are therefore necessary to address in the context of discussions about the church´s identity and the search of greater unity.Each Mariology is related to contemporary ideas about the relations between male and female, and to the tradition of the church as the leaders themselves see it. During the years 1920-2010 the relations between the sexes changed a lot as a result of the impact of modernity, which also affected how people perceived the relationship between the individual and the tradition/authorities. The present study concludes that there is a connection between Mariology and contemporary ideas about male and female. However, the Mariologist´s attitude to the tradition of the church seems to decide which perspective is allowed to dominate.

This bachelor?s thesis examines the tradition of half-timbered buildings in V?stra G?taland County as there is a current lack of research on this building category in this region. The lack of knowledge may lead to the loss of potential cultural heritage values if these buildings do not receive attention. Therefore, the study aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of its role within the region. The goal is to expand and nuance the existing research on the Swedish building tradition, particularly in V?stra G?taland County and the general Swedish half-timbered tradition.
