Experimentell konstruktion av pickupsystem anpassat för trummor med hjälp av MATLAB
For several years Uppsala University together with several companies has been involved in a WISENET project aimed at improving railway transport security. By placing a sensor system near the wheels of each wagon, the temperature of the bearings can be measured and transmitted to a collector placed centrally on the wagon. This in turn transmits the collected data to RFID receivers placed intermittently along the railway.As the signals are transmitted wirelessly, problems may occur as the antennas get dirty or coated with ice and snow. To determine the effects of these coatings, several tests were performed examining the reflection coefficient S11, the impedance Z11 and the efficiency eta of an antenna, and how they varied when various coatings were placed over the antenna. Examined coatings were ice, snow and water to determine the effects of weather, and various metal-based coatings: powdered iron both pure and partially oxidized, and iron ore granules.

Bröd vid död i Kalvshälla : Analys av förhistoriskt organiskt grav- och boplatsmaterial från Barkarby i Järfälla socken, Uppland
This paper deals with prehistoric charred organic material, interpreted as bread, found in graves and in the underlying settlement at Kalvshälla, Järfälla parish in Uppland. The aim was to categorize the organic material morphologically and with the help of Fourier transformed Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) to see whether it was bread or not. Material from 13 graves (dated to Late Roman Iron Age until Viking Age) and 3 finds from the settlement have been analysed. Differences were noted both in shape, porosity and structure. Some of the material has been interpreted as cereal based foodstuff instead of bread due to morphological discrepancies.

With background in the rapidly growing need to find solutions for sustainable energy production and the increasing interest for wind power, this report was written. With take-off point from the wind power plant Big Glenn, which has been built in the harbour of Gothenburg, a model of the adjacent power grid has been created in Simulink/SimPowerSystems. Parameters for the power grid and its components has been provided by Göteborg Energi Nät, that has also been the supplier of measurement data of produced power, the power need from loads in the vicinity, voltage levels, current values and also the variation of power factor at the wind power plant.The SimPowerSystems model has been used to perform simulations of power flow in the grid. These simulated values have then been compared to the measured values to verify the functionality of the model. Further, the model has been used to perform simulations of a grid fault, which causes a voltage drop.
Ersättande av tioglykolsyra Utredning för att se ifall tioglykolsyra går att ersätta som nedbrytande kemikalie vid analys av järnhaltiga prover
Denna rapport behandlar en undersökning vars syfte var att finna en ersättande kemikalie ellermetod till den nu använda metoden för att bryta ner magnetitpartiklar i ett vattenprov för attanalysera dess järnhalt. I den nuvarande metoden används tioglykolsyra för att lösa uppmagnetiten innan analys i ICP-MS (induktivt kopplat plasma ? masspektrometer).Tioglykolsyra är giftig och dessutom påfrestande för analysinstrumenten och därmed inteönskvärd. Försöken i denna utredning utfördes genom att byta ut tioglykolsyran mot saltsyra,svavelsyra eller EDTA, samt att ändra temperatur eller tid i uppvärmning av provet.Utredningen visade att saltsyra inte är en fungerande ersättande kemikalie, att svavelsyramöjligen kan fungera, även om vidare utredning krävs för att finna de optimala förhållandenamellan tid, temperatur och koncentration av syran, samt att EDTA kanske också kan fungera.Utredningen visade även att istället för att analysera i en ICP-MS verkade det som att detskulle kunna fungera att analysera färskvattenprover (prover utan förbehandling) i en AAS(atomabsorptionsspektrometer) med grafitugn. För att veta med säkerhet ifall tioglykolsyragår att ersätta behövs vidare utredning för AAS med grafitugn, svavelsyra och EDTA.
Butorfanol till get : farmakokinetik efter subkutan injektion
Today there are no analgesic drugs approved to be used in goats. Drugs approved for use in other species are consequently being used without knowing the pharmacokinetics of these drugs in goats. The purpose of this study was to investigate the pharmacokinetics of the opioid butorphanol when given subcutaneously in goats. Subcutaneous administration might extend the half-life compared to intravenous or intramuscular administration. Eight clinically healthy, non-pregnant 6 months old female goats were used.

Ever since ABB has begun diecasting their rotors instead of permanent mold casting it,variation in the quality of the cast has arisen. Diecasting is performed in three differentmachines, M1, M2, M3 with 400, 660 respectively 800 tons of die locking pressures.The aim of this thesis is to answer the following questions:What is the ?right? cast quality? How is the right quality achieved?For sizes 160-180 solutions will be proposed that consider eccentricity between thelaminate and the short circuit ring as well as elimination of the thin Al film that appearson the outer periphery of the rotors.Through considering the statistic material the most often diverging rotor type has beenidentified and one of the actual rotors has been sent to a laboratory to be analyzed inorder to establish the current defects. The result of the analysis shows that there areplenty of gas- and oxide-porosity.It has been proved that every time the dies temperature decreased below 120°C thecontent of gas porosity increased. It is due to rapid solidification of metal that flowsthrough the ?cold? laminate.It has confirmed that enhanced porosity in squirrel cage causes high impedance in therotors.

Syntes och egenskapskarakterisering av volframoxid framställd med magnetronsputtring
The system tungsten-oxygen has potential of being suitable for decorative coatings since ceramic coatings are often hard and wear resistant, and since modulations in oxygen content or incorporation of small ions could give bright colours. The aim of this report was to investigate the relationship between process parameters and the properties of the films, with the wear resistance being of special interest.Samples with tungsten to oxygen ratios in the range of 100:0 to 25:75 at% were made using reactive sputter deposition, either with constant gas flow, or gas flow controlled by optical emission of the plasma. The hysteresis of the system, which means that a certain gas flow will cause different pressure and/or target voltage depending on in what way the flow is reached, makes it interesting to control the process where the system makes the steep change from metallic tungsten to ceramic tungsten oxide. This is difficult and thus requires precise control equipment.The samples were analysed using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and an empirical wear test suitable for small components like cell phone cover for example, in order to characterize the structure, composition and wear resistance of the coatings. The results could be divided into three groups: (I) tungsten-like, with very low oxygen content; (II) mixed phase and (III) tungsten oxide like, with oxygen content close to 75 at%.
Registreringsmetoder för initial och avancerad dental erosion : Litteraturstudie
Introduktion: Dental erosion definieras som förlust av tandens hårdvävnad genom en kemisk process som inte involverar bakterier. Dagens förändrade livsstil och kosthållning medför att våra tänder oftare utsätts för kemisk påverkan som kan leda till erosion. Det är flera faktorer som samverkar och dental erosion har en multifaktoriell etiologi.Syfte: Syftet är att beskriva olika registreringsmetoder för dental erosion.Frågeställningar: Vilka metoder kan användas för registrering av initial erosion? Vilka metoder kan användas för registrering av avancerad erosionsskada? Vilka metoder är kliniskt beprövade på patient?Metod: LitteraturstudieResultat: Ett flertal registreringsmetoder fanns beskrivna i litteraturen, merparten var inte applicerbara kliniskt. Registeringsmetoderna som framgick i den beskrivande litteraturstudien var: 3D scanning microscope (IFM), Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), Digital photography (DP), Focus-variation 3D microscopy (FVM), Longitudinal microradiography (LMR), Non-contact confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), Optical assessment, Optical profilometry (OP), Quantitative light-induced fluorescence (QLF), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Stylus profilometry (SP), Ultrasound, White light interferometry (WLI) och X-ray diffraction (XRD).Konklusion: Vid registrering av initial erosion krävs analys av tandytans mineralinnehåll samt optiska analyser med hjälp av instrument.
Undersökning av bindningsmekanismer vid pressning av metallaminat : Investigation of bondning mechanisms at the pressing of metal laminates
Increased understanding of the mechanisms that operate in conjunction with the welding of metal surfaces may help to improve existing manufacturing processes, and to enable new products and combinations of materials. The purpose of the project has therefore been to acquire a deeper understanding of what is happening in the bond for steel and for the factors that form the basis for a bond to develop between metals in the production of laminates by pressing. The merge has been done by pressing and the surfaces after the experiments have been studied in detail in the scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and with interferenceprofilometry in Wyko, to provide a greater understanding of the mechanisms that influence the bonding in the interface between metals. The project was limited to contain the materials Docol 1000, HyTens 1200, Aluminum AA3003 and a commercial steel. The parameters varied in the experiments to study their influence closer are temperature, pressure, heat treatment and pretreatment. This has been implemented by pressing with varying temperature and pressure.

In this thesis is studied the electrical load of Paradisskolan with respect to power quality and energy consumption. The school's owner Trollhättans Tomt AB is also interested to know if they can reduce their costs by changing to smaller meter fuses. A recurring ground fault that?s been recorded from powerpanel A1A has been investigated. The school's equipped with an electrical bonding system, harmonic filters for the third harmonic currents, TN-S system from feeding transformer and groundfault monitoring.
Förnyelsebar plast från rapshalm
Efterfrågan på förnyelsebara och miljövänliga produkter har ökat under de senaste åren. Biobaserade plaster anses vara en av de mest lovande innovationer. Det övergripande målet med examensarbetet var att undersöka möjligheterna att utvinna xylan och glukomannan ur rapshalm. Metoden som utnyttjades var en hydrotermisk extraktion. Inverkan av temperatur, pH och tid studerades genom att tillämpa ett faktorförsök på två nivåer.

Det finns studier som visar att skador i transmission och hydraulik är bland de vanligaste och dyraste skadorna på traktorer. Ytterligare studier visar att det finns mycket partiklar i oljorna hos lantbrukets traktorer. Även om inte partikelmängden som sådan är orsak till skadan kan den orsaka följdskador, ofta med stora kostnader som konsekvens.
Partiklarna kan komma från både inre och yttre källor. Partiklar som uppstår i traktorn uppkommer på grund av olika slitage på materialen i traktorn. Partiklar som kommer utifrån och genom yttre faktorer kommer från till exempel luftningen på hydrauliksystem eller från slarv vid påfyllning av olja.
