The main aim of this paper is to illurninate how a group of immigrants meet the publiclibrary in Sweden. I have chosen to discuss Iranian immigrants' meeting with the publiclibrary in BorÄs. The investigation (qualitative interviews and inquiries) has taken placein the public library of BorÄs and partly in a local library with high density of immigrants.A theoretical perspective deals with the case study of dual marginality, where theconception of the "Marginal Man" or "The Outsider" is central. I have indicated how theprevious authors have considered this problem, to live on the verge between twodifferent cultures and how individuals react on it.The interviews and inquiries answered by Iranian immigrants are the most importantmaterial in this investigation and the result of them is connected to the theoreticalperspective and a discussion, what it means for the public library..

Som fallstudier beskrivs tvÄ bibliotek i UmeÄ, universitetsbiblioteket och Sveriges depÄbibliotek. UtvÀrderingens centrala frÄga Àr om digitalisering kan vara ett passande alternativ till fjÀrrlÄn av Àldre tryck, för att stÀrka anvÀndarvÀnligheten. The aim with this thesis is to investigate how librarians experience communication with children in reference interviews. In today?s interactive community it is meaningful to study how children communicate with the librarian in virtual reference interview as well as in ordinary reference interviews in physical libraries. Focus has been on finding out what children ask about and how they are asking in virtual reference interviews and in ordinary reference interviews, what type of information needs the children have. The study also focuses on which barriers there can be in reference interviews.

With background in the acknowledgement of the current period of major change in the characteristics of traditional Swedish foreign policy, considering the membership in the European Union, as well as the new contextual scenarios that Sweden has been situated in after the end of the cold war, this thesis aims at scrutinizing the Swedish Foreign Policy from 1991 to 2010. The purpose of the thesis is further to localize continuity and change in the ideas which Sweden has explicitly stated in its foreign policy. Based on the theory of institutionalism, the thesis also aims to bring forward plausible explanations built on the main empirical findings. This has been done by identifying different types of goals and means within realism and liberalism as well as categorizing each theory within three ideal types.The chosen research method has been a qualitative text analysis with focus on an ideational analysis. The material on which the descriptive analysis is based upon is constituted by the annual statements of government policy in parliamentary debates on foreign affairs.The results of the thesis show that the ideas that are related to solidarity, consensus and active foreign policy are constant through the period of examination.

Fo?r att underso?ka hur kommunikationen hittills har fungerat har jag genomfo?rt en enka?tunderso?kning hos la?rarna som arbetar pa? de fo?rskoleklasser och skolor som ho?r till stadsbibliotekets upptagningsomra?de. Vidare har jag genomfo?rt en kvalitativ analys av texten och den grafiska formen i det informationsmaterial som Va?stera?s stadsbibliotek skickat ut till fo?rskoleklasser och skolor i upptagningsomra?det.

Mitt syfte med uppsatsen Àr att se hur bibliotekarier som arbetar dagligen med invandrargrupper, ser pÄ sitt uppdrag med att frÀmja integration samt hur arbetet med programaktiviteter kan ligga till grund för integrering. I undersökningen intervjuas 4 bibliotekarier pÄ 3 biblioteket som arbetar mycket med integrering och invandrare som anvÀndargrupp. I resultatet framkommer det att arbetet med programaktiviteter kan frÀmja integrering eftersom det bjuder in till bÄde dialog och deltagande.  Dock anser bibliotekarierna att det Àr möjligt att göra integrering till en del utav varje arbetsmoment som sker pÄ biblioteket..

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie Àr att beskriva hur standardvÄrdplaner, kan vara ett instrument som förbÀttrar omvÄrdnadskvalitén för patienter och nÀrstÄende i sen palliativ fas.Artiklarna söktes via Högskolan Dalarnas bibliotek och Falu lasaretts bibliotek. Artiklar frÄn andra referenser ingÄr ocksÄ i studien. Totalt har 17 artiklar anvÀnts i resultatredovisningen. Resultatet visar att efter införandet av standardvÄrdplan förbÀttrades följande omrÄden; symtomkontrollen, anhörigstöd efter dödsfallet, kommunikation, omvÄrdnadens standard och evidens. Fokus lades pÄ att prioritera viktiga omvÄrdnadsÄtgÀrder och det visar sig att standardvÄrdplanen Integrated Care Pathway (ICP) Àr ett anvÀndbart pedagogiskt instrument vid kvalitetsförbÀttringar i palliativvÄrd.

NÀr de traditionella skrivbordsapplikationerna görs om till webbapplikationer, stÀller det krav pÄ JavaScript som anvÀnds mer och mer för att fÄ fram ett responsivt grÀnssnitt pÄ webben. För att underlÀtta utvecklingen av JavaScriptapplikationer har ett antal funktionsbibliotek skapats. I vÄr studie undersöker vi dÀrför vilket av de tvÄ populÀraste JavaScriptbiblioteken idag, jQuery och Prototype, som presterar bÀst i dagens mest anvÀnda webblÀsare. Dessa tester har utförts i ett testramverk som vi sjÀlva utvecklat för att vara webblÀsaroberoende och inte krÀva nÄgot av de bibliotek vi testar. Testerna Àr uppdelade i fyra testfall som körs 20 gÄnger för att ge ett mer tillförlitligt resultat.

This thesis is of an historical nature and deals with two institutions in Bosnia and Hercegovina: waqf and the Library of Gazi Husrev bay. These institutions are placed in a societal context which makes it easier to understand their origins, development and decline. The purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyze the history of the Library of Gazi Husrev bay and its specific characteristics as well as analyze the institution of waqf in a societal context. The questions posed by this thesis are: What is waqf and its meaning? What are its benevolent as well as hostile periods? How did the Library of Gazi Husrev bay and its mission develop? The thesis is limited to waqf in its societal context.

Mitt syfte med arbetet var att undersöka vad som pÄverkar hur barn vÀljer böcker för fri lÀsning i skolan. Dessutom ville jag undersöka om det Àr skillnad i barnens val nÀr böckerna vÀljs ur en boklÄda som Àr komponerad av en bibliotekarie jÀmfört med nÀr de vÀljer direkt ur hyllan pÄ skolbiblioteket. Jag intervjuade 21 barn i Ärskurs 1 och 22 elever i Ärskurs 2. Intervjun var kort och innehöll en öppen frÄga. Mitt resultat visade att eleverna i stor utstrÀckning valde samma böcker som sina kamrater, men ÀndÄ upplevde att de gjorde det av eget intresse.

This master's thesis deals with the public library project called the GÖK-project, whichconcerned three Swedish public libraries: Linnestaden (Göteborg), Örnskoldsvik and Kalmar.The general outlines for the project were: reconsideration of the conception of the literaryquality, improvement of the library services, adjustment to the library user and reconsiderationof the conception of adult education to the public libraries of the 90s. This is the first investigation of the activity with feature film (video) in Swedish publiclibraries.Due to the Swedish copyright legislation, the activity with feature film in Swedish publiclibraries was not possible until an agreement was set between Kommunförbundet and SverigesVideodistributörers Förening in 1989.My investigation is based upon a form that I made in cooperation with Statens kulturrÄd.The form was sent to the main public libraries in the 286 municipals in Sweden. 250 (87 percent) of the public libraries answered the questions. 130 (52 per cent) of the libraries whoanswered had an activity with feature film.The main reason the libraries bought feature film, was that they hoped that feature filmwould attract new visitors to the library.
