"Det ser inte bra ut" : en studie om uppfattningen av gatutiggeri i Kristianstad

Begging as a phenomenon has again become a hot topic of debate both in the public and the media. Actions have been discussed and motions have been given to social authorities in the country. During the last two years people from other parts of Europe who engage in street Begging have been seen on the streets of Kristianstad.The purpose of this paper is to find out the individuals, certain authorities and other participants experiences of people Begging in public places in Kristianstad. We have used a combination of qualitative, quantitative and literature review method and we have a social constructionist perspective as a basis. The participants and authorities we have included in the study are the police, the social services, security guards, a shop owner and two other assistance agencies.

Framställningar av tiggare & tiggeri. : En kvalitativ text- och innehållsanalys av debattartiklar i Dagens Nyheters mellan 3 september 2010 och 24 februari 2014.

The aim with this study was to analyze and understand how Begging is constructed as a social problem in Sweden between September of 2010 and the end of February in 2014 in debate articles in Dagens Nyheter. To do this I have chosen to use a social problems theory and critical discourse analysis to highlight some aspects in the process of defining the social problem. The study's main finding is that the construction of beggars and Begging appears to be in a relatively extensive redefinition in the current situation. It is shown by, for example, a shift in focus in the discourse. For this reason, it is relevant for social work to examine how the construction progresses..

Tiggande EU-migranter i Kalmar : En lokal socialpolitik växer fram

The aim of this study was to examine how social policy is created in a local context on the basis of the situation regarding the Begging EU migrants in Kalmar, Sweden. The last few years the number of Begging EU migrants has increased in Sweden. Most of them are Roma with a history of exclusion and discrimination. To reach our goal we interviewed three managers from the social Services representing the local authorities. We also did four interviews with people from three non-profit organizations in Kalmar.

Under 2013 och 2014 har det skett en ökning av antalet EU-medborgare som tigger i Sverige. Det har varit ett hett ämne för offentlig debatt och åsikterna har varit många och delade. Det finns flera obesvarade frågor och situationen är komplex. Behovet av kunskap i ämnet ses därför som stort. Syftet med denna uppsats var att studera medias framställning av tiggeri och romer, samt att genom intervjuer ge en bild av den verklighet som romerna i Umeå upplever.

Romer i samhällsdebatten : En kvalitativ studie om framställningen av romer i debattartiklar

The purpose of this study is to investigate the medial portrayal of Romani people in the newspaper Dagens Nyheter from 2013 and 2014. In the theoretical chapter the concepts of new racism is used to speak of what is considered racist in the Swedish society today. Other concepts that are used are type and stereotype which are used to explain how our context is depending on distinctions to understand what surrounds us. Concepts such as myths and binary-oppositions are other theories that are used in this study.  Six debate articles have been selected to investigate how the Romani people are represented.
