The idea is that the assembling will give the furniturean added value. Use of lighting is crucial to make public urban places available during dark hours. Landscape architects participate in planning of lighting, but during our education there is very little taught on the subject. Through this study we approach the subject of lighting by looking into lighting methods for urban plant materials during winter. In this thesis we look into ways to emphasize the visible characters and experiences of urban plants during winter season using light. Target audience are landscape architect students and landscape architects without knowledge of lighting. The part of the thesis that describe basic conditions for, and visual characters of plants can be useful to lighting designers without knowledge in this subject. Working methods used were the following: ? Pre-study about light and lighting techniques through literature and dialogues. ? Compiling important visual winter plant characters through photography and literature. ? Outdoor light experiments with plants.

The assignment was to design a family of products in which LED was to be used as a source of light. The main focus in the initial part of the project was to find a way to design the inside of armature which was suitable for LED technology. An armature, already in the range of products at Fagerhult, with the desired qualities that was to be strived after was the Zintra. The lighting source of the Zintra is a compact fluorescent lamp.

Överrapportering vid skiftbyte är en komplex men mycket viktig del av en sjuksköterskas arbete och det finns ett antal olika modeller att följa. Med denna litteraturstudie är syftet att undersöka forskningen om patienters och sjuksköterskors uppfattning om överrapporteringsmetoden bedside. Metoden utgår från Goodmans sju steg vid en systematisk litteraturöversikt. Fyra teman framkom ur de valda artiklarnas resultat: tidsåtgång under bedsiderapportering, bedsiderapportering som informationskälla och grund till säker omvårdnad, Patientdelaktighet och interaktion mellan patienter och sjuksköterskor under bedsiderapportering, sekretess. Det tydligaste i resultat är att bedsiderapportering tillgodoser både patienters och sjuksköterskors informationsbehov och gör patienten delaktig i omvårdnaden. Safety, its a word not commonly associated with elderly people living alone. There is however a device that is supposed to bring safety, and enable elderly people to continue living in their present household - an emergency dialer. However these devices does not serve their own purpose in terms of design. Thepurpose of this study is to create an emergency dailer that everybody would want to put on their wrist or bedside table. The market for these devices have looked the same for the last twentyfive years, despite of society´s advancements in both design and technology.

Lumilos is a work investigating the possibilities to use light and color in an interactive design context. I have explored different light sources and compared them to each other and given a short description of the history of light and how it has been developed during the industrialization in the western world. I have also investigated what is currently done in the field and summarized that with examples in the categories passive-, colored-, material- and interactive light. The conclusion is that working with interactive color and light is a hard task. There are many different angles to take into account such as personal likings and earlier experiences that is uncontrollable by the designer. Yet there are many possibilities and light is a material that is moldable in many forms. I have put the knowledge about light and color into practice and developed an interactive light wall that is visualizing energy consumption with the use of different colors of light and animations.

Ett av målen med Mobil Intensivvårdsgrupp (MIG) på Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset i Solna är att erbjuda intensivvårdskunnande och expertis för att höja kunskapsnivån på respektive vårdavdelning. Syftet med denna undersökning var att utvärdera om sjuksköterskorna på vårdavdelningarna upplevde att MIG fungerade som ett tillfälle till bedsideundervisning. En strukturerad intervju genomfördes med ett eget utformat frågeformulär, 47 sjuksköterskor deltog i undersökningen. Det framkom i resultatet att MIG förmedlade kunskap till vårdavdelningarna. Resultatet visade även att sjuksköterskor som arbetat i mindre än fem år upplevde att MIG var ett tillfälle till bedsideundervisning, i högre utsträckning än sjuksköterskor som arbetat i fem år eller mer.

One part of preventive conservation is controlling the lighting in the exhibitions. As a first step we have to accept the fact that the very act of displaying objects is causing them damage, and because the trend is for everything to be open to the public view all the time, the aim is to minimize light exposure of exhibits.This essay will present lighting options and relate them to the current recommendations. I have put the emphasis upon describing which methods one can use to minimize the degradation of exhibits on display by eliminating UV- and IR-radiation and reducing the visible light. The intention with this essay is to investigate the current lighting options and compare these to the recommendations on lighting exhibitions.The selections of different lighting options such as LED-, halogen- and energysaving lamps were made based on avaibility. Thereafter I did two types of investigations.

AWARE är ett designorienterat forskningsprojekt som syftar till att öka människors medvetenhet om hur elenergi används i vardagen, speciellt i hemmen. Målet är att uppmärksamma människor om deras elanvändning samt ge de ett medel att kunna kontrollera och göra deras elanvändning mer effektiv.Som en del i AWARE ska en intelligent bärbar armatur som är batteridriven tas fram som ska få människor att tänka på att elenergi inte är något konstant och outtömligt. Det ska finnas visuella effekter som på ett bra sätt kan väcka dessa tankar.

Context: Lip-to-Lift (L-t-L) is a bedside-method for measuring oral transit time at swallow. It was designed for a swallowing examination of persons on nursing homes where weight loss was noted in people with average L-t-L-time >5 seconds (Sandin, 2005). The measurement was validated and evaluated by Eriksson, Bremer Zerpe (2008).Objectives: The study objective was to examine L-t-L on a group of young adults without swallowing disorders and as to examine the inter- and intra-judgereliability of the measure.Questions:What is the L-t-L-time for young adults without swallowing disorders?Are there any gender differences regarding L-t-L-time?How high is the inter/intra-judge reliability of L-t-L?Method: Examination of L-t-L-time was carried out on 20 young adults, aged 19-27 years, without swallowing disorders after Sandin?s (2005) instructions. Measurements of 20 swallows per person were made.Results: The average L-t-L-time of young adults without deglutition-difficulties was 1.13 seconds (sd =.14).

Varje dag vårdas ett antal intoxikerade patienter på landets akutmottagningar. Av antalet akutbesök var 2-45% alkohol- och drogrelaterade. Intoxikerade patienter kan utgöra ett stort hot mot vårdpersonal på grund av intag av droger som leder till aggressivitet. Patienter med misstanke om intoxikation löper risk att felbedömas då de inte vill medverka till vård samt förmedlar inte hela bilden av sin sjukdom/symtom. Återkommande intoxikerade patienter kan leda till försämrad attityd hos vårdpersonal gentemot denna patientgrupp.
