It can take the form of our immediate family, our classmates, the books we read, the teve series we watch or the magazines we read. Everyday the world around us shape the way we think of men and women and how they're supposed to be. As a part of either (or neither) of those genders we are all shaped into the mold that society has set for us. The media is one of the largest contributors to this socialization and therefore we felt it necessary to study two, critically acclaimed, media outlets and shed some light on their portrayals of gender. We chose to study Filter and Fokus, two social magazines with close to a corresponding amount male as female readers and a reputation of being modern and free of prejudice.

Östby waterworks in the community of Kramfors has since 2003 had problems of fast clogging of the slow sand filters. As the clogging appears more often, they must be cleaned more frequently which has made the drinking water preparation difficult. Wintertime it has sometimes been impossible to clean the filters which has led to their closing and this has influenced the water quality negatively.The waterworks is a surface waterworks which takes its raw water from the lake Sjöbysjön. The water is flocculated and filtered in a contact filter with the flocculent EKOFLOCK 91. Thereafter it is alkalinized before it reaches the outdoors placed slow sand filters.
Sensorfusion för reglering av obemannad helikopter
Den obemannade helikoptern Skeldar utvecklas av Saab Aeronautics. Saab är intresserade av hur väl sensorfusion kan användas för navigering av en obemannad helikopter. Med sensorfusion kan tillgängliga sensordata fusioneras. Det är mätningar från accelerometer, gyro, GPS och magnetometer som används av olika Kalmanfilter. Olika sensorfusionsmetoder föreslås, däribland Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) och ett heuristiskt filter för att visa på hur man intuitivt kan göra för att fusionera mätningar jämfört med det modellbaserade sättet som Kalmanfiltret erbjuder.

Frågorna är: hur viktig är elevernas exponering för de kommunikativa aktiviteterna (input) i en samtalsmodul med avseende på språkinlärning och hur viktiga är dessa aktiviteter för deras affektiva filter? Jag har använt mig av en enkät för att få svar på mina frågeställningar. Undersökningen har varit kvalitativ och den visar att majoriteten av informanterna anser att exponeringen för kommunikativa aktiviteter (input) i samtalsmodulen spelar en viktig roll för deras språkinlärning och de flesta upplever detta som positivt för deras kommunikativa förmåga. Informanterna upplever också att de är motiverade att delta i modulens aktiviteter eftersom modulen skapar en positiv miljö som främjar en känsla av förtroende och språklig säkerhet. Jag drar därför slutsatsen att aktiviteter i samtalsmodulen främjar deras affektiva filter..

A new software by the name GrafNav has been purchased and the purpose of this master thesis therefore became, partly to make a judgment regarding GrafNav?s ability to estimate position, velocity and accuracy, partly to if needed improve the estimate and finally find one or several methods to estimate the position and velocity accuracy. In order to facilitate testing of anesthesia machines a patient simulator has been required by Maquet Critical Care AB. A patient simulator has been developed to reduce expensive and time consuming animal experiments and temporary lab arrangements. The patient simulator has been developed and designed to simulate human lungs with regards to anesthetic uptake, production of carbon dioxide and heating and moisturizing exhaled air.The system comprises a container and a test lung to simulate the volume and the dynamic of the human lung. The simulation of uptake of anesthetics has been implemented by pumping a fraction of the gas from the container through a bypass circuit with an active charcoal filter that adsorbs volatile anesthetics. The flow through the bypass circuit is generated by a pump and is controlled by a linear valve.The resulting performance of the patient simulator has fulfilled the requirements.

During the last few years the presence of high arsenic (As) concentrations in ground water has been of major concern both internationally and in Sweden. Much evidence has been reported about toxic effects caused by arsenic. The carcinogenic effects and the possibility to measure the toxic impacts at low concentrations made the World Health Organisation (WHO) to reduce the guideline value from 50 to 10 ?g l-1 in 1993. In Sweden the corresponding reduction was implemented in 2003.
Several surveys in Sweden have shown that high arsenic concentrations may occur in ground water.
Design of a Direct-conversion Radio Receiver Front-end in CMOS Technology
In this Master's thesis, a direct-conversion receiver front-end has been designed in a 0.18um CMOS technology. Direct-conversion receivers (DCR) have obvious advantages over the heterodyne counterpart. Since the intermediate frequency (IF) is zero, the problem of image is circumvented. As a result, no front-end image reject filter is required and the channel selection requires only a low-pass filter, which makes it easy to integrate directly on chip. However, the DCR also suffers from several drawbacks such as extreme sensitivity to DC offsets, 1/f noise, local oscillator (LO) leakage/radiation, front-end nonlinearity and I/Q mismatch.
