In this Bachelor thesis I explore sound and room as elements in design of user interfaces, both theoretical and practical in a specific application domain, to identify some of the advantages and disadvantage associated with these elements. As application domain I studied email clients and their usage at home amongst students at Blekinge Institute of Technology. In the study I found an activity, which seems to be highly distributed in the physical room where the user is located. The activity was notification of email and could take place in an arbitrary location of the home. I then augmented this activity with ideas from my theoretical assumption about room and sound.

When I was fifteen I decided that I wanted to become a blacksmith. At the time of my decision I had been obsessed with fantasy for several years. I came to the conclusion that if I could not live in a fantasy world then at least I would make BITS and pieces from it. That became the entry point of my fascination for material and techniques. I started with blacksmithing since it had an aura of magic or mystique in the material and in the making process.

The use of a bit in the mouth of a horse is being increasingly questioned with respect to its actual function, and is sometimes judged an obsolete instrument of control with potential to injure the horse. The objective of the research presented herein was twofold; firstly, to investigate the actual pressure load in the mouth of the horse with regard to oral health issues, and, secondly, to investigate whether this could be a viable method to objectively measure strength exerted by a rider/driver to the mouth of the horse especially with regard to training regimes. From the results, it is evident that these newly developed sensors have a future in equine research, although they are still under development. They can be useful both as a pedagogic teaching instrument, providing instructor and pupil with instantaneous, objective feedback on the contact between hand and mouth, as well as an aid in measuring pressure loads from our common BITS. .

Denna rapport sammanfattar ett examensarbete som utförts hos Kiruna kommun. Kommunen arbetar med framtagning av en ny IT-säkerhetspolicy och ville då göra en säkerhetsanalys av sin verksamhet. Denna säkerhetsanalys skulle göras utifrån Krisberedskapsmyndighetens standard Basnivå för IT-säkerhet (BITS). Informationsinsamlingen har skett via intervjuer av personal på IT-avdelningen samt platsinspektioner på skolor och serverhall. Dessutom har en enkät skickats ut till alla anställda inom kommunen.

The result was a rule-based agent for notification of email, which primarily uses sound as interaction style..

This thesis compares the impact on disk performance in a GNU/Linux  environmentwith three encryption algorithms: AES,  Serpent and Twofish in three different implementations: DM-crypt, Loop-AES and Truecrypt. For all three algorithms a key length of 256 BITS is used.The thesis shows that the least performance impact during data encryption, and thus file writing, is reached by using AES or Twofish encryption implemented in DM-crypt or TrueCrypt. The thesis shows that some data operations with a sufficiently low processor utilization barely affects disk performance at all if encrypted using the optimal implementation and algorithm.It is also discovered that the performance impact during data decryption, or file reading, can be minimized by using the most efficient implementation and algorithm. The best results are met with the AES or Twofish cipher, regardless of implementation.An important conclusion that  is  drawn is that it is hard to determine a superior encryption solution for all purposes. However, by reviewing and examining the collected data from all aspects of disk performance the AES implementation in TrueCrypt is, with small marginals, determined to be the most optimal..

The thesis demonstrates a low-cost, low-bandwidth and low-resolution Analog-to- Digital Converter(ADC) in 0.35 um CMOS Process. A second-order Sigma-Delta modulator is used as the basis of the A/D Converter. A Semi-Uniform quantizer is used with the modulator to take advantage of input distributions that are dominated by smaller-amplitude signals e.g. Audio, Voice and Image-sensor signals. A Single-bit feedback topology is used with a multi-bit quantizer in the modulator.

We wanted to clarify how the work from using Tragetons theory was applied while investigating if and how other methods of reading and writing instruction were used. Our interest lays in how the teachers accomplished the knowledge of this theory and also how the choice of this approach came about. To investigate this we used interviews with a qualitative nature, where seven active teachers were interviewed. They worked in three different schools in years one to three, they were all women and had various long experiences of work on the computer writing tools.

Hälsovalsenheter är idag beroende av en fungerande IT-infrastruktur för att kunna fullfölja sina arbetsuppgifter på ett professionellt och effektivt sätt. Störningar i drift och tillgänglighet av information kan skada patienter och verksamheten. Socialstyrelsens föreskrifter SOSFS 2008:14 förpliktigar privata vårdgivare, däribland hälsovalsenheter att arbeta aktivt med informationssäkerhet och att etablera en informationssäkerhetspolicy. Problematiken som ansvariga för detta arbete kan stöta på är många, bland annat att bristfällig utbildning eller avsatta resurser. En informationssäkerhetspolicy kan referera till olika dokument som berör informationssäkerheten.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur pedagoger i sin yrkesprofession resonerar kring deras arbete med barn med ett utagerande beteende. Denna undersökning belyser även möjligheterna för att arbeta med inkludering och svårigheter i arbetet med utagerande barn. Frågeställningarna för arbetet handlar om hur pedagoger i sitt arbete upplever dessa barn och tolkar deras utagerande beteende. Studien tar även upp hur pedagoger beskriver deras bemötande med dessa barn. Denna studie har genomförts med en kvalitativ metod med hjälp av en kvalitativ intervjuundersökning.

This report was made for the company HordaGruppen AB to investigate how information security was handled. This report fits in the Master program of Internet Technology at School of Engineering in Jönköping University in Sweden.The question at issue was how you protect your information against different threats. One question was how to make an information security policy and which guidelines you can follow in the Swedish Standard, SS-ISO/IEC 17799:2000.Another question was to investigate the information sources at the company and which threats there are against it.The work begins with a presentation about information security for the chief of information and the chief of quality in the company. The next thing was to do a survey of as thing are at present with a tool from Länsteknikcentrum called ?Infosäkpulsen?.
