Our common future involves many important challenges. People and nature need to improve the relationship in order to reach an ecologically sustainable development. In a society where consumption of products steadily increases, the consumer awareness about social and environmental issues connected to the products becomes an importent factor. More and more companies choose to work more actively with these issues and more and more products get labelled by some of the eco labelling organisations. From the cradle to the gate means that a study has been done on a part of a products life cycle.

The intention of this study was to create an understanding of how multi-professional interaction could convert into inter-professional collaboration, which takes advantage of and acknowledges the individual professional identity. The intention was to understand the meaning of collaboration through the study of meetings between professionals who use different symbol systems. In particular, we wanted to study inter-professional interaction from a symbolic interactional perspective with a focus on Self, Identity, Symbols, Meaning and Professional community. The employed method was semi-structured interviews with ten questions. A convenience sample was used to identify working groups composed of different professions, such as teachers, social workers and therapy assistants.

The first information recruiters have access to, when recruiting a new co-worker is the applicant´s CV. It may even happen that the applicants are sending a photo with the CV, which can lead to the possibility that the appearance of the applicant will affect the assessment. Previous research shows that individuals who are regarded as beautiful get a better assessment than those who are considered to be ugly or mediocre looking, but if this can be prevented through awareness, the problem can easily be counteracted. The purpose of this thesis is to, through an experimental study, investigate whether recruiters can avoid being affected by the applicant?s appearance in the assessment of their CV if they receive information about the stereotypical thinking that is tied to a person's appearance.

Syfte: Att beskriva orsaker till brister i uppföljning, dess effekter och den motivation som sjuksköterskor kan möta hos patienter som är gastric bypass opererade i samband med fortsatta livsstilsförändringar och ökad livskvalitet, samt att som kvalitetsgranskning redogöra för undersökningsgrupper, deltagare och bortfall i artiklarna.Metod: Litteraturstudie med deskriptiv design. Sökning av kvantitativa och kvalitativa vetenskapliga artiklar i databaserna CINAHL och Pubmed. Artiklarnas resultat har sedan utifrån syfte och frågeställningar analyserats.Resultat: Det är betydelsefullt att få patienterna att komma på uppföljande återbesök för att hjälpa de till fortsatt livsstilsförändring. Högt BMI innan operationen kunde vara orsak till brister i att komma till uppföljning och återbesök vilket medförde förlust av stöd och hjälp till att följa dieten, samt att komplikationer upptäcktes sent och att information gick förlorad. Även om livskvaliteten ofta förbättrades markant så upplevde många en mer bristande grad av livskvalitet än förväntat och depression förekom.

IT utgör en stor del av majoriteten av folks vardagliga liv. Smartphones och surfplattor har om möjligt ytterligare ökat vår användning av tekniska enheter och prylar på en daglig basis. Arbetet tas med hem i en större grad med hjälp av laptops, VPN och molnmöjligheter. Mail kan tas emot i princip var och närsomhelst på dygnet. Men hur bra är säkerheten? På arbetsplatsen hanteras mycket av IT-säkerheten och ansvaret för den ofta av erfarna och dedikerade anställda, men hur ser det ut hemma där användaren själv har ansvaret för sin IT-säkerhet?I denna studie analyseras och identifieras risker och problem vid hantering av olika aktiviteter relaterade till IT-säkerhet i hemmet.

The agricultural sector is currently highly dependent on fossil fuels, with diesel beingmost prominent. There are however both historical and modern alternatives thathave not been subject to enough evaluation to disregard them as suitable alternative.This report aims to theoretically investigate the feasibility of converting aconventional diesel driven tractor to run on electricity, delivered via a cableconnected to either the main power grid or on-site electric production, such asphotovoltaic. Delivering electricity to the machine via a cable is a method withhistorical roots in the early 20th century and in the present day mining industry.The economic and technological potential of the technique are evaluated, along withthe examination of several different motor powers, voltages, losses and constructionideas. The report finds the technique to be both possible as well as long termeconomically and environmentally beneficial. To realise this method however, somedeviations from the present methods of agricultural farming must be made,considering the more advanced driving patterns, the limited mobility and therequirement for extra driver awareness.

"What's feminine about the Women's library?" This library, Kvinnobiblioteket, is abranchoffice at Björkskatan in the city of Luleå, and the introducing question is thestartingpoint of this essay. To find some possible answers is its object.One way of describing what's feminine about Kvinnobiblioteket is through presenting itsobjective, ambitions and methods of working. That is done mostly in a chapter headlined"Kvinnobiblioteket", and shows how the women's perspective concerns for exarnplepurchase of books and magazines, displaying of books, the opening hours, design etc.Although the focus in the survey is not in the former kind of description, but in the interviewsbeing made during a two week long period of time with ten women at Kvinnobiblioteket(both library user and personnel) at spring 1995. The results of the interviewsthen have been compared with theories from psychological-, feminist-, literature- andlibrary and information sciences, as we11 as to former surveys and essays.The material together leads to some keywords that seem to be important when trying tofind out what's female about the women's library.

As technology have continued to develop over the latest decades and become more advanced the pressure on the general citizens understanding of technology becomes a essential part to live in our society today. The transition have affected our society in great ways and have made a great impact on different groups, one of them being the elderly population in our society. The purpose of this study is to examine how the fast technological development in the latest decades have affected the elderly in our society. This from their perspective by gathering empirical data through semi-structured interviews with elderly people involved in the Agnes-project, a research project focused on improving the general quality of life for older people and increase their knowledge about technology. The study has shown that after the older peoples time involved in the Agnes-project their quality of life had improved in different areas. Areas such as increased cognitive activity, increased interest in new technology and an improvement in their communication with friends and family.

Offentliga trådlösa nätverk finns idag mer tillgängliga än någonsin. Samtidigt haralla dessa nätverk något gemensamt ? de går alla att avlyssna och risken finns attanvändarens information kan komma i fel händer. Uppsatsen behandlarallmänhetens säkerhetsmedvetenhet med avseende på denna typ av nätverk genomtvå undersökningar. Den första undersökningen sker via ett tekniskt experiment därdet på flera geografiska platser har erbjudits ett trådlöst nätverk till allmänheten.

There are various investments to suit different investors, what affects the investor is the risk he/she takes with the investment and also the awareness  the investor has. According to different theories a higher risk gives even a higher yield to compensate for the extra risk the investor takes.In this paper, we discuss and compare two different forms of savings, Swedish closed-end funds and Swedish mutual funds to examine what alternative that generates highest returns in relation to the risk.To help, we use different evaluation measures that adjusts the different investments risk so that you can compare how well the investments have performed regardless of the risk they have. This will give us an answer about what investment form that have performed the best between 2002.01.01-20010.12.31. Five Sweden mutual funds and five closed-end funds have been selected to participate in the survey.To evaluate this, it is primarily quantitative data, analyzed in the evaluation measures. The results obtained in the survey show that Swedish closed-end funds have performed far better during the selected time period.

Föreliggande examensarbete bygger på en enkätundersökning bland pedagoger som är verksamma inom förskolor med olika pedagogiska inriktningar i två kommuner. De tre inriktningarna representeras av förskolepedagoger, som enbart arbetar utifrån förskolans läroplan, Montessorilärare samt pedagoger som arbetar utifrån Reggio Emiliafilosofin. Vår undersökning visar att en hel del lärare, som är verksamma inom samtliga inriktningar, framför allt arbetar med såväl planerade som spontana språklekar som rör rim, ramsor samt stavelser. Färre pedagoger arbetar med språklekar som rör enskilda språkljud i ord, vilket är mer abstrakt och kommer senare i utvecklingen av den fonologiska medvetenheten. Vid en jämförelse mellan de olika inriktningarna kan vi skönja, att flest Montessorilärare arbetar med språklekar som rör språkljud på förskolorna. Färst pedagoger som arbetar med dessa lekar är verksamma på de förskolor, där lärarna arbetar utifrån Reggio Emiliafilosofin. .

The aimof this study is to contribute furthermore to understand the complexity of theprocess of learning to read and write in an inclusive environment. It focus on the syllableinstead of the phoneme as a unit in this process which is not the most common way ofdoing it. The report is based on a qualitative analysis of this task in pre-school and gradeone at a primary school in a small municipality.In the result, I have found, that the very structured working process and the diagnosticapproach helps the teachers to understand on what level pupils are at. The pupils whostart working this way in pre-school, feel safe knowing what is expecting from them andthey also learn from each other. All pupils in grade one have, before w 45 in autumnterm, very good letter knowledge and have learnt how to read words with two syllableswith a consonant-wovel-structure.

How effective is consumer power? Can consumers regulate corporate behavior?And if so is the case, could the mechanisms where consumers regulate corporatebehavior have any democratic value to contribute with? These are the questionsthat this master's thesis comprehends with. The purpose of this writing is toconstruct a theory of consumer power that is compatible with democratic theory,this in order to contribute to the ongoing discussion within the discipline ofpolitical science about the third democratic transformation. A discussion that hasbeen actualized due to the democratic deficit created by the growing corporatepower and the shift of power from state to private enterprises. Besides showingfor a parallel between the democratic mechanisms that exists in the relationbetween citizens and state on the one hand, and the consumers and corporationson the other hand, this paper argues that consumers do have a great potential inregulating corporate behavior towards a higher social responsibility andawareness.

This study aims to highlight patients´ experiences about and thoughts of side effects fromelectroconvulsive therapy (ECT), a therapeutic method commonly used when having severedepressions. The framing of questions were how the respondents of this study describe theirlife before, during and after ECT-treatment, how the treatment has affected their daily life andhow these experiences may contribute to the awareness of power in professional relations.The study is based on three semi-structured narrative interviews and the main result showedthat, according to my interpretation, ECT as a treatment obliterated memories, quality of lifeand daily structure for all participants. Unfortunately they have all become subjects ofpsychiatric power and have faced considerable difficulty in getting professional recognitionaccording to their severe memory issues. The respondents have lost the ability to relate totheir past which clearly makes them struggle in their present context. A point in commonamong them is that neither of them wanted ECT but, because of the lack of communicationbetween them as patients and the health care in general, they all ended up getting it..

In this study I?ve used qualitative interviews to examine four male preschool teachers? interpretations of gender and their work with gender in preschool. Specifically, I?ve been interested in what thoughts male teachers have about the preschool gender assignment, how they express these thoughts in their work, and how they perceive their role as men in preschool in relation to gender and gender equality. The teachers express that the preschool gender assignment means that one should treat girls and boys equally and give them the same opportunities.
