Rhodesian ridgeback is a dog breed that originates from southern Africa. The characteristic ridge (a dorsal ridge where the hair grows in the opposite direction to the general coat) is shared with an Asian breed, Thai ridgeback. The origin and inheritance of the ridge has been examined and defined. The ridge-mutation is a duplication that contains four complete genes, FGF3, FGF4, FGF19 and ORAOV1 and the 3ÂŽ-end of CCND1. The ridge is inherited as an autosomal, dominant trait and predisposes for Dermoid sinus (DS), a disease that develops during embryogenesis.

Skillnaden i muskelstyrka mellan dominant och ickedominant ben hos fotbollspelare hartidigare studerats. Det finns inget enhÀlligt resultat om vilket ben som Àr starkast eller om detalls föreligger nÄgon skillnad. Tidigare forskning har utfört mÀtningarna i sittandeutgÄngsposition vilket inte stÀmmer överens med fotbollspelares huvudsakliga aktivitet. Syftetmed uppsatsen var att, hos en grupp fotbollspelare i division ett och tvÄ, beskriva och jÀmföraden maximala muskelstyrkan mellan dominant och ickedominant ben. Datainsamlingenutfördes i en liggande utgÄngsposition dÄ detta ger liknande muskellÀngdsförhÄllandet somvid stÄende.

This master theses deals with different methods for automatic tuning of the existing controller for external axis. Three methods for automatic tuning have been investigated. Two of these are based on the manuell method used today. The third method is based on optimal placement of the dominant poles. Different sensitivity functions are important for this method.

The interest for alternative forest regeneration methods increased significantly during the 1990Žs after 50 years dominance of the clear-cutting system (Holgén & HÄnell 2000). One reason for this was that clear-cutting was being more and more questioned by different envi-ronmental organizations and because the forest sector for economical reasons wanted to find cheaper ways to regenerate forests. In the beginning of the 1990Žs two shelterwood experi-ments were established in a joint effort by Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget (SCA) and the Dept of Silviculture, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). The experiments include various forms of cutting and shelterwood densities and represent productive spruce forests in central and north Sweden (Roggsjön in the province of Medelpad and Skikkis-jöberg in the province of VÀsterbotten, respectively ). The experiment next to Roggsjön has been reported earlier in three MSc theses, and is also the focus of this thesis.

As long as the surrounding environment evolves, the business models must within the IT-area, keep the same pace. So, how do business corporations handle this change to attract customers? How do the dominant business models look like? In many cases, they are apparently much the same. But what differences can we see and what areas can be improved? We have showed that the IT area isn?t just one, it consist of several segments.

SammanfattningSyfte och frĂ„gestĂ€llningar: Syftet med undersökningen var att ta ett första steg mot att skapa ett testbatteri, som objektivt kan mĂ€ta fotbollspelares tekniska prestationsförmĂ„ga med boll, samt konstruera en rad övningar som innefattar viktiga fotbolls-specifika tekniker och testa dessa övningars reliabilitet genom ?test-retest?. Syftet med studien var ocksĂ„ att göra en jĂ€mförelse i prestation mellan varje spelares dominanta och icke-dominanta fot, frĂ„n tillslagsövningar dĂ€r bĂ„da fötterna anvĂ€nds.  Metod: Tolv herrjuniorer (16-19 Ă„r) och sju damjuniorer (15-17 Ă„r) pĂ„ elitnivĂ„ genomförde ett testbatteri bestĂ„ende av totalt 21 övningar för mĂ€tning av de fotbollsspecifika teknikerna nick, mottagning, driva med boll samt tillslag. Åtta av mĂ€nnen (16-19 Ă„r) Ă„tergenomförde testbatteriet för utvĂ€rdering av testbatteriets reliabilitet.

Syftet med vÄr undersökning Àr att övergripande synliggöra den dominanta roll ett barn kan ha eller fÄ i en grupp. Vi valde att observera i tvÄ olika klasser i de lÀgre Äldrarna pÄ en F-6 skola. För att fÄ syn pÄ den dominanta rollens egenskaper sÄ anvÀnde vi oss av bland annat videoinspelning. Videoinspelningen gav oss material som kom sÄ nÀra den naturliga miljön i gruppen som möjligt. Först nÀr vi började observera sÄg vi inte nÄgra av de egenskaper som vi trodde karaktÀriserade den dominanta rollen.

In this essay a social perspective on the mind is explored and argued for. The essay moves from a discussion of a social collective foundation for the individual mind to a discussion ofthe main alternative ways of describing the shared social world, namely an action-centred perspective and a power-centred perspective. It is shown that these two perspectives are combinable. A combination of the two perspectives is therefore recommended for a more balanced way of describing the shared social world. In this essay it is argued for that the individuals? mind and her identity is dependent on the surrounding community.

Eight students at Malmö Academy of Music tried three different ways to learn a short melody at the piano. In this way, their preferred way of learning things (either visual, auditive or kinestetic) was established. Five of the students did best when they used a visual cue to learn a melody, and the remaining three did best when auditive cues were used. All but one of the students had the worst result in the kinestetic trial.
