Energy analysis of a fruit drying plant in Adeiso, Ghana

The purpose of the project has been to work out recommendations that reduce the energy-related costs and environmental impact of HPW Fresh & Dry Ltd., a fruit drying factory in Ghana. The factory produces electricity with diesel and biogas but also purchases electricity from the national electricity company. Heat for the drying process is produced from biogas, kerosene and solar panels. In the project the energy system was analyzed by measuring production and consumption of heat and electricity. The project results show that the factory can become self-sufficient on heat if the available energy is used more efficient. The production units for both electricity and heat have low efficiencies.

Byggnads- och investeringskostnader : Robotmjölkning eller konventionell mjölkning?

This project is based on my fathers farm which lays outside Löberöd, twenty kilometres south of Eslöv in Skåne. While my family for some time have thought about building a new milkingstable with AMS(Automatic milking system) I decided to compare the AMS with a conventional milkingstable. We are abit concerned about how many cows we should have in the new stable. Because of that I calculated with two different number of cows. I have compared three different types of milking stables: One alternative is 180 cows milked in a double eigth hearing bone milking stable. The second alternative is 128 cows milked with two DeLaval VMS-robots. The third alternative is 171 cows milked with three DeLaval VMS-robots. One salesman from DeLaval and one salesman from A-betong helped me to get marketprices on the milkingrobots, building, ventilation and prices on all the concrete. In all the costs labour is included. The rest of the costs are calculated in a softwareprogram called K-data 03 which is a program with predicted costs. The calulations from the program showed that the price in the milkingpit system was 51 000 sek per cow.

Volvo in Arvika produces wheel loaders, and the production is based on forecasts. When a machine is ordered, the customer can choose what type of equipment he or she wants, and these equipments are also made forecasts on. This is made by giving each equipment an estimated procentual usage that shows how many of the machines that will use this option. Today two people are working with the forecasts, planer A in Eskilstuna and planer B in Arvika. Planer A makes a forecast based on the historical outcome and planer B then makes adjustments of this based on how many options that are ordered.

I min analys av boken diskuterar jag bokens språk,anlägger ett genusperspektiv, berör humorn samt belyser bokens underliggande budskap.Jag vill hävda att Al-malja? på många sätt är en modern bok som vänder sig till en nygeneration läsare, där författarens medvetna förhållningssätt ? att underhålla snarare än attenbart undervisa ? är bokens styrka.

Vad driver unga anställda att arbeta på ett callcenter? : En studie om unga anställdas arbetsmotivation

Människor ägnar dagligen mycket tid åt sitt arbete och det är därför av stort intresse att undersöka vad som motiverar de att prestera i sitt arbete. Dagens arbetsmarknad präglas av stor rörlighet och globalisering vilket leder till att företagen är allt mer konkurrensutsatta och använder sig av callcenterverksamheter för att sälja in deras varumärke, produkter och tjänster. Syftet i denna studie var att undersöka vad som bidrar såväl positivt som negativt till unga anställdas motivation i arbetet. Semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med fyra mötesbokare på ett callcenterföretag som var mellan 18 och 26 år. Motivationsfaktorerna för mötesbokarna var graden av samhörighet, att känna uppskattning av organisationen genom ansvar och feedback samt att alla beskrevs vara tävlingsmänniskor och ansåg att lönen hade en stor betydelse.

The project has investigated the possibility of producing electricity from waste heat generated in the diesel process. One technique to utilize and convert energy into electricity is the ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle). This process is based on the Rankine process (the steam process), the difference from the traditional Rankine process is that instead of water as a working medium, an organic substance is used. The main component used in the process is a evaporator, a turbine, a condenser and a pump.

To be able to also offer cooling solutions tocustomers are becoming more and more important. This report describes the resultsof an investigation of the cooling market in the two cities and the potential needs forcooling today and in the coming 20 years. The total potential for the coming 20 yearsis estimated to be roughly 17 MW for Nyköping and 9 MW for Motala.Two possible district cooling systems for each of the two city centers was modeledand a comparison was made between different cooling techniques namely absorptionand compressor chillers.Absorption chillers driven with district heating during the summer is one way ofincreasing the load in a combined heat and power plant and thereby the possibleelectricity generation. The cost of heat production must be low for absorption chillerto be able to compete as an alternative.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of strategy for grouping calves into group pens with automatic milk-feeding systems on the calves' health and growth rate. The usefulness of changes in feeding behavior recorded by the computerized milk-feeder during periods of illness to identify calves with clinical diease was also studied. In the first experiment, 64 calves were moved in and out of group pens in a continuous way, while 46 calves were transferred into group pens until the the pen was considered "full". The calves in the latter groups were then held together until weaning. It was found that calves in the fixed groups grew approximately 100 g / day more compared to the calves in the dynamic groups. Signs of clinical respiratory disease were less frequent in this group, while the incidence of diarrhoea was slightly higher. In the second experiment health parameters, milk consumption and feeding behaviour was recorded daily for 46 calves.

Unga vuxnas nyhetskonsumtion: En kvalitativ studie om hur nyhetsrapporteringen kan utvecklas för att unga vuxna ska vilja betala för nyheter

Dagens journalistik står inför stora utmaningar. Unga vuxna är de mest frekventa användarna på internetmedier men enligt tidigare forskning saknar de både intresse för nyheter och betalningsvilja. Syftet med studien är att undersöka unga vuxnas nuvarande nyhetskonsumtion samt vilka önskemål de har angående nyhetsrapporteringen för att bli mer villiga att betala för nyheter. Fyra fokusgruppsintervjuer med universitetsstudenter från olika utbildningar har genomförts. Resultatet visar att faktorer som exempelvis det stora nyhetsutbudet påverkar betalningsviljan eftersom unga vuxna tillhör en generation som är uppvuxen med konvergenskulturen och är van att få tillgång till innehåll gratis på internet.

Välkommen eller inte? : En studie av homosexuellas upplevelser och hantering av omgivningens reaktioner

Syftet med denna uppsats är att få en bild av hur man kan uppleva det att vara homosexuell i sociala relationer och utifrån detta blir våra frågeställningar vilka reaktioner upplever homosexuella från sin omgivning och hur hanterar de eventuella reaktioner. Vi har valt kvalitativ metod där vi har intervjuat fyra homosexuella från två generationer, en man och en kvinna från varje generation. Teorier som vi använt oss av är Goffmans stigmateori som ligger till grund för studien, samt sexualitetsteori och könsteori. De slutsatser man kan dra utifrån denna studie är att de homosexuella påbörjar en process när de tar steget att ?komma ut?.

A strong brand can help a company to be easier to recognize and be remembered by their customers. Part of branding is to create a visual appearance which is called a graphic profile and contains information on for instance a logo, colours or typography.The objective of this thesis was to create a graphic profile for Stjørdal Tannhelsesenter that could serve as a base for a brand work in the future. It was important to analyze how the clinic wants to be perceived and how it is perceived today. The methods used to carry out this study were questionnaires, researches and a focus group.The work resulted in the generation of a graphic profile that included a new logo, colours, decorative elements, fonts, templates for stationery, business card / badge, imagery, and examples of some publications.According to the test which was made to examine the results of the project showed that I was successful and that the new design meets all the requests from the previous questionnaires..
