Throughout the history, the theories which have shaped our cities have varied from time to time. We have gone from a city development characterized by spontaneousness, where commerce and people side by side shared the space, into a function-based planning where people and functions are being increasingly separated. Regardless the forms of planning the city design causes implications for those who live there when the physical environment controls were we live, work and meet. In today's society where `sustainability ' has become a watchword the current community planning needs to be questioned so we, in the best possible way, can meet future changes. Searching for new planning strategies is part of this and in this essay the term `mixed-use´ will be investigated and analyzed in terms of its social aspects.

Återkommande kunder, det är något de flesta företag på dagens marknader strävar efter. Idagens rådande situation präglas många marknader av hård konkurrens och relativt nyförsäljningskanal växer med stormsteg nämligen E-handel. Utan dyra butikshyror, derelativt små uppstartningskostnaderna och möjligheten att nå potentiella kunder världenöver är några av de faktorer som gör att fler företag finns och verkar inom E-handel. Det isin tur leder till ökad konkurrens om kunder och återkommande kunder blir vitalt för ettlönsamt företagande. Vi har studerat och försökt förstå varför en kund som handlat engång väljer att återkomma med ytterligare ett köp.

Abstract We have in this thesis examined two elite hockey clubs in the Swedish Elite League, Brynäs IF and Linköpings HC. Our questions revolve around how they set themselves to bring in an external owner of the club. Our aim was to examine how Linköping and Brynäs stands on the issue of the external owners of the club, which is currently regulated by Riksidrottsförbundets 51/49%-rule which means that the club must control at least 51% of the club while external shareholders can take up to 49 %. Then, we compare the clubs with each other. Interviewees have been clubs club CEO:s and supporters club chairman.

Inflammatory airway disease (IAD) is a respiratory disorder that most commonly affects young horses performing at a high level. The clinical signs are often mild but the disorder can cause a marked decrease in performance to a point where the horse has to be taken of training and competing. The aetiology underlying IAD is not yet fully understood. One current theory is that a type I-hypersensitivity reaction due to allergens in the environment is the cause in some horses. The most reliable diagnostic method is a bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) since it reflects the inflammatory status in the most distal parts of the lungs, which are affected in IAD.

This study investigated the relation between Extraversion and Conscientiousness with job satisfaction and job selection in the two occupational groups of telemarketing and administration. The study also set out to explore the relation between social desirability as assessed with an Implicit Association Test (IAT) and total reaction time on the IAT. The questionnaire was administered over the Internet to forty-one subjects (24 women and 17 men) in the age range 16-65. Results indicated that people working with telemarketing tend to be extrovert while people working with administration often are conscientious. Job satisfaction correlated with Extraversion in the telemarketing group.

Bakgrund: Framväxten av Internet hade stor inverkan på många branscher. Det talades både om den potential som E-handeln hade och det hot den utgjorde mot traditionella butikshandlare. Att E-handel har förändrat många branscher är tydligt men också att återförsäljare börjar kombinera E-handel med fysiska försäljningskanaler. Traditionella företag har i många fall öppnat en E-handel för att svara på konkurrensen och en hel del har skrivits om detta i forskningen. Vad som dock fortfarande är relativt outforskat är E-handlare som väljer att öppna fysiska försäljningskanaler.Syfte: Syftet är att studera hur ett E-handelsföretag inom återförsäljning går till väga när det öppnar butiker och skaffar sig en hybrid distributionsstruktur.Genomförande: Vi har valt att göra en fallstudie av företaget Scandinavian Photo som i huvudsak baseras på intervjuer genomförda på deras huvudkontor i Jönköping samt i deras butik i Stockholm.Resultat: Vad som karaktäriserat strategin för fallföretaget är att den verkar ha vuxit fram över tid snarare än yttrat sig som ett rationellt vägval.

An inquiring study of literature has been conducted, about the human colour perception (theimpression of colours). The colour has been examined, both as conscious and subconscious signal,and reasons for it?s influence have been exammed.The practical parts of the degree project have been carried out in active collaboration with thecustomer, The Association Hedemora Assistansservice (HASS), which offers handicapped persons astimulating spare time by personal assistance. A graphical profile-programme and an informationfolderhave been produced, easy received by both handicapped (with defective vision) and normallysighted persons. The graphical profile-programme was made in collaboration with the customer.Concerning the information-folder HASS took the main responsibility for the choice of photographswhile layout, text writing, colour-reproduction, original-production and connecting printing workswere made independently.

Today the Internet is used more and more as a transportation for information. Much of the information is confidential and should not be read by those not privileged. To protect the information from unauthorized access cryptography can be applied. The cryptography algorithms in use today all have their pros and cons. They are therefore suited for different applications.

The forest is characterized by many different values such as those related to forest productivity which are of a big importance for Swedish economy. History has proved that forest resources had helped the country in the transition from the agricultural to the industrial society. Today Swedish forest industry is among the strongest in Europe and significantly contributing to the Swedish export. The industry provides many direct and indirect job opportunities and is one of the biggest employers in the industry sector. It is also worth to notice that the forest can also generate an additional income for the owners, even if the forestry isn?t their primary income source.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka supporterkulturen inom fotbollen utifrån kvinnliga deltagares upplevelser med fokus på läktarvåldet och fenomenet huliganism. Målet är att peka ut upplevda känslor och lyfta fram kvinnliga fotbollssupportrars åsikter kring ämnet. Empirin har samlats in kvalitativt, nio kvinnliga fotbollssupportrar har intervjuats. Empirin visade att fotbollskulturen förmodligen håller på att bli ett könsneutralt territorium och att det finns ett starkt samband mellan makt och kunskap, både när det gäller kvinnliga fotbollssupportrars positionering, men även i arbetet att minska våldet som förekommer i samband med fotbollsmatcher. För att kunna minska och förebygga fotbollssupportrarnas utsatthet för våld på matcher krävs det att polisen och fotbollsklubbarna utbildar sig inom detta fenomen för att sedan utbilda supportrarna.

Singapore is a country which is higly-developt in both the socie-economic and economic field. Dispate this Singapore has not yet achieved to become a democratic state. The purpose of this essay is to study how the civil society can affect democracy in a country.

This study examines implementation from national law in to local practice in the district of Kalmar to assure newly arrived immigrants orientation in civics. The study takes its starting point in Lipskys theory about street-level bureaucracy.  Questions that are discussed are about how  the education is understood by refugee?s coordinators, civic communicators and the new immigrates, how the organization has been and what role the demography and economic structures has played for the organization. It is a case study where interviews and enquete has been used.

The increasing holdings by institutional investors have raised concerns about the institutions passive investment strategies and the implications for corporate governance. A way for investors to address moral hazard and opportunistic behaviour of management is to demand conservatism in accounting practices. This paper analyses the relation between institutional ownership and accounting conservatism in the Swedish market by studying firms on the Nasdaq OMX Stockholm over a three-year period. Furthermore, the study investigates whether ownership by institutions with high probability of monitoring managers leads to higher conservatism in financial reporting. To measure accounting conservatism this study uses the asymmetric timeliness measure developed by Basu (1997).

 Lärare tillhör den yrkesgrupp där stressrelaterad ohälsa ökar som mest. Syftet är att undersöka hur olika faktorer i arbetsmiljön kan bidra till minskad stress och ökat arbetsengagemang. Utifrån Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) modellen skapades frågeställningarna om hur arbetsmiljöfaktorer är relaterade till stress och engagemang och förhållandet dem emellan. Grundskolelärare (N=57) skattades genom frågeformulär. Hierarkisk multipel regressionsanalys och korrelationsanalys användes för att besvara frågeställningar.

Are icehockey supporters a big problem in todays society? Is security required during icehockey events, and how is it implemented? This study was aimed to investigate the people at security positions and their view on fan behavior and it?s impact on icehockey events. It was a qualitative study were six interviews were made with people in charge of the security at different hockey clubs. The results showed that security managers overall saw a good fan culture, and that it created a wonderful atmosphere. Security managers worked a lot with dialogue with the supporters and they thought it had a good effect.
