The purpose of this thesis is to shed light on a present trend of professionalization in Swedish local environmental politics, which have recently seen a decline in active participation of the citizens in favor of an increased governmental regulation. With the aim to closer investigate this relatively new phenomenon, the paper is a qualitative single case-study of environmental policies in the Swedish municipality of Karlskrona. In this case, the municipality is obviously balancing between regarding the interests of the national level and the interests of its own citizens at the same time. This motivates the use of system-theory, and relates to the classical political paradox between participation and efficiency which is also a present theme in the paper.This text-analysis based on interviews with personnel and documents from the municipality shows a visible trend of professionalization in the local politics of the municipality of Karlskrona, from a large grade of participation and a strong bottom-up approach in the days of Agenda 21 to now being more strongly top-down defined by national environmental objectives and principally operated on a professional level..

The competition between the Swedish municipalities has increased as the world has become more globalized, which means that they need to become more attractive for sustaining sound finances and not to find themselves to have a downward trend. One possibility to show the attractiveness of a place is by using place marketing and therewith attaining a stronger brand position. There are 20 suburban municipalities in the county of Stockholm, of which six are multicultural or are having a minimum of 20 percent immigrants among the residents. These immigrant areas are segregated based on class, income and culture. Problems associated with these areas have historical aspects that dates further back than modern immigration does.

Syftet med denna studie är att studera ekonomierna i Japan, USA och Storbritannien där ländernas centralbank använt den okonventionella penningpolitiska metoden kvantitativa lättnader. Genom att studera penningmängden, BNP-tillväxten, inflationen och kostnaden för dessa länders valutor i förhållande till tio andra valutor vill denna studie kunna avgöraom Riksbanken med hjälp utav kvantitativa lättnader kan få inflationen att stiga samt vad som bör hända med den aggregerade efterfrågan och kronans värde. Resultatet visar att inflationen och BNP-tillväxten haft en stigande trend under perioderna av kvantitativa lättnader. Resultatet visar också att Storbritanniens valuta deprecierades mot alla valutor i studien och Japans valuta deprecierades mot hälften av valutorna, däremot kunde denna studie inte observera något samband mellan kvantitativa lättnader i USA och en deprecierad dollar. Det denna studie kan säga är att Riksbankens kvantitativa lättnader bör skapa enpositiv trend för både inflationen och den aggregerade efterfrågan, samt att kronan med största sannolikhet bör deprecieras..

Ett flertal undersökningar tyder på att utvecklingen av stöldbrott minskat det senaste decenniet i nästan alla Västeuropeiska länder. Syftet med denna studie är att med hjälp av offentlig kriminalstatistik från Brottsförebyggande rådet (Brå) och Home Office undersöka och jämföra stöldbrottslighetens utveckling mellan 1975-2010 i två västeuropeiska länder ? Sverige och England. Studien redogör för den generella utvecklingen av stöldbrott samt för tre huvudkategorier: inbrottsstölder, fordonsrelaterade stölder och butiksstölder. Studien kommer att lägga vikten på att redovisa och analysera trender istället för nivåer av brott och avser att undersöka vilken betydelse förändringar i tillfällesstrukturen har haft för stöldbrottsutvecklingen i dessa länder.Frågeställningar som skall besvaras är följande:Hur ser stöldbrottsutvecklingen ut i Sverige respektive England under perioden 1975-2010?Finns det några skillnader i stöldbrottstyp?Vilken betydelse har tillfällesstrukturen för utvecklingen av stöldbrott i dessa två västeuropeiska länder?En sammanfattning av studiens resultat visar att utvecklingen av stöldbrott i Sverige och England har en likartad neråtgående trend, men att det finns vissa skillnader vad gäller de olika kategorierna av stöldbrott.

Manuell säkerhetsgranskning av Linuxsystems konfigurationer är en tidskrävandeoch mödosam uppgift. Det existerar flera automatiserade verktyg som säger sigkunna underlätta arbetet, upptäcka uppenbara säkerhetsrisker och genereraunderlag för manuella granskningar.I detta arbetet ställer vi oss frågorna; ?Hur väl klarar befintliga verktyg, på ettautomatiserat vis, att identifiera kritiska konfigurationsbrister i ett linuxsystem??och ?Går det att ta fram metoder som bättre identifierar dessa brister??. Arbetetundersöker detta genom att samla verktyg för automatisk auditing och testar dessa iavsiktligt sårbart konfigurerade testmiljöer baserade på vedertagna riktlinjer försystemhärdning. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to seek understanding, describe and analyse how auditors practically reassure and maintain their independence towards clients.Methodology: The study is conducted with a qualitative method with a deductive approach. The study is based on interviews with both experienced and recently graduated auditors.Conclusion: Our empirical results show that there are economical incentives that contradict the requirements to fulfil the auditor?s independence. The conclusion is that the media view is narrow and biased. Furthermore the auditors agree that an acceptable level of comfort is achieved by offering a high value, being a part of a large network of professionals and the ability to set materiality and evaluate risks. .
