Idrottsföreningars dubbla uppdrag : ett historiskt perspektiv på kampen mellan föreningslivets två fostransuppdrag
This dissertation deals with two sports clubs and their operational development between the years 1946-1998. The research was made by a qualitative analysis of the annual reports and protocols that the clubs produced between 1946-1998. The two clubs are IFK Växjö and Växjö BK which are located in Växjö in Sweden. Our main purpose with this study was to analyze the operational development and in which way elitist drive affects the voluntary society content and culture. Results indicated that if a sports club starts with elitist sport it could have a bad impact on the voluntary sector.
Samverkan - mål eller medel? : Ett samverkansprojekt mellan fyra offentliga organisationer
The main question in this thesis has been to see how the brand strategy of Linköpings Hockey Club has changed during the years in the Swedish elite league. We will also look at the content of the brand, as well as the association as the city of Linköping. This thesis will also see the sponsorship view of the development of the brand, because of the sponsorship power to help the association to build and strengthen the brand.We have been interviewing important persons at the association Linköpings Hockey Club and also done interviews with a few sponsorship partners to get important information to analyze.As an association it is of outmost importance to disseminate the association?s image in the right way, which Linköpings Hockey Club has according to their sponsorship partners. The association has during the last years been working hard to take care of and strengthen the brand, which can be seen among the sponsorship partners.
Hur kommunicerar fackförbundet Unionen med sina medlemmar? : Påverkas kommunikationen av det minskade antalet lokala klubbar?
The purpose of this study is to investigate differences of how the Swedishemployees union ?Unionen? communicates with its members, on one hand thosewho are members of local union clubs and on the other non-club members. Thenumber of non-club members has increased due to labour market changes implyingthat workplaces have been fragmented and hence affect the possibility to form localunion clubs.The questions posed in the study are: How does Unionen communicate with itsmembers? How does the communication differ between club members and non-clubmembers? What are the preferences of Unionen´s members as far as communicationwith the central organization? What kind of information do the members seek andhow do they find it? What values does Unionen represent? Are there differencesbetween the messages that Unionen is sends out and how members and non-clubmembers, respectively, perceive them?A case study method has been used applying both quantitative and qualitativeanalyses. Quantitative methods have been used in illustrating the number ofdiscussion subjects at Unionen´s website, the members needs for receivingcommunication and channel usage while qualitative methodologies have been usedin interviews with Unionen´s members, club chairmen and union representatives aswell as semiotic picture analyses and analyses based on methods of Uses andgratifications theory.One conclusion of the study is that two significant differences of communicationhave been found between members and non-club members.

The primary data has been collected through personal interviews and since the respondents were selected strategically, this means that a non-probability sampling was used. The secondary data that has been used for this thesis was based largely on literature, articles and the Nyby Torshälla Riding Club website.Conclusion: This study indicates how small size service companies can benefit from nurturing their customer relationships.
"Det räcker inte med det vi gör, vi måste göra mer" : - En kvalitativ studie om vad som motiverar kommuner till att införa en ny metod för barn som upplevt våld.
Flera olika studier visar att det finns brister i de insatser som kommunerna erbjuder barn som upplever våld, detta trots att regeringen skärpt lagstiftningen för målgruppen. Några kommuner i Sverige har börjat använda en ny metod, Kids club, som specifikt är utformad för gruppen barn som upplevt våld. Vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att genom att undersöka motiven till att kommuner vill implementera en ny metod för barn som upplevt våld, Kids club, förstå vilken form av motivation som ligger till grund för denna vilja. Uppsatsen har en kvalitativ ansats, där vi genom att genomföra intervjuer med representanter från olika kommuner skapar förståelse för motiven bakom implementering av Kids club. De slutsatser vi fann i uppsatsen är att det finns två teman bakom motiven, dels enskilda personers motiv samt kommunen som organisations motiv.

Enköping?s Rugby Club has long lacked a bigger hall to gather their members in, where they can meet and socializes outside trainings and games. Thanks to Enköping?s municipality, The Swedish Inheritance Fund, Swedish Sports Confederation, sponsors and club members the clubhouse will be built out with additional 100 square meters.The project is planned in two phases of which phase one is the buildup of the new clubhouse and phase two is the renovation of the existing part. Phase one started with the first groundbreaking in December 2006 and was finished for the season 2007.
Styrning i en kundinriktad organisation : en studie av en elitidrottsförening
Background: There has been a movement of power towards customers in most markets which puts higher demands upon the customer orientation of organizations to survive competition. In general the opinion is that satisfied customers also are profitable for the organization. Even though a consciousness exists about this connections importance for the organization there exists no prominent economical theory showing how a organization should work with customer adaptation and how management should be shaped for success in this area. In the field of competitive sports clubs a similar trend is discernible since the field is increasingly commercialized.Purpose: The purpose of this study is to adapt The Balanced Scorecard as a model to the demands on management that customer orientation causes and to use the knowledge created during the study to show how customer orientation in a competitive sports club could look.Realization: The study first takes the form of a literature study which emerges into a theoretic development. Above that a case study of Linköpings Hockey Club has been accomplished so that knowledge created from the literature study could be used on competitive sports clubs.
Small-worlds och rich-clubs bland bloggar : En nätverksanalys av den svenska bloggosfären under FRA-debatten 2008
Purpose/Aim: To find power structures within the blog network.Material/Method: Using keywords to find all available blog posts about the National Defence Radio Establishment from the blog search engine Twingly, and thereafter using the same blog search engine to find inlinks from other blogs, to those posts. The data is set into the context of the small-world networks models of Duncan J. Watts and rich-club models of Sergi Valverde och Ricard V. Sole.Main results: 5183 unique blogs have written about the subject in 22779 blog posts to which 28128 inlinks from other blogposts are made. Just over one fifth of the blogs are linkted to each other in one big network, where the remaining blogs stand without any ingoing or outgoing links.
Framgångsfaktorer för ideella ledare : grundstenarna inom svensk föreningsidrott
2005 hade Sverige 600 000 ideellt arbetande idrottsledare. Trots detta stora antal idrottsledare upplever många idrottsföreningar att intresset för att vara ideell ledare har sjunkit de senaste åren.Tidigare forskning föreslår att nya ledare bäst rekryteras inom grupper av tidigare klubbmedlemmar eller genom föräldrarna till idrottsutövarna. Stöd till ledarna föreslås av flera forskare för att de ska fortsätta att trivas.Idrottsföreningarna är en pedagogisk arena och undersökningar visar att idrottande barndricker mindre alkohol samt att idrotten är en viktig mötesplats där barn fostras i demokrati och möten med andra människor.Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att beskriva framgångsfaktorer för ideellt ledarskap inom föreningsidrotten i Gästrikland. En kvantitativ undersökning i form av webbenkäter har genomförts för att finna struktur i det data som insamlas. Undersökningen innefattar 230 ideella idrottsledare.
Fotbollens stängda marknad
Vi har genom kvalitativa intervjuer valt att undersöka fotbollsklubben Athletic Bilbaos rekryteringspolicy som innebär att klubben endast använder sig utav spelare med baskisk härkomst. Syftet med vår studie var att diskutera och analysera huruvida detta speciella koncept eventuellt är diskriminerande utifrån ett moraliskt, ett juridiskt och ett politiskt perspektiv. Vidare har vi sökt svar i de ledande svenska idrottsorganisationerna om huruvida det skulle kunna vara genomförbart i Sverige med en sådan policy. För att få en ökad förståelse för problematiken har vi valt att arbeta efter en rad teoretiska begrepp såsom etnicitet, lokal och social identitet samt globalisering. Vår slutsats är att problematiken kring föreningens policy och Baskiens politiska ställning komplicerar beslutsfattandet i diskrimineringsfrågan och att en rättspraxis från EG-domstolen krävs för att nå ett klargörande i fallet.

Method A qualitative study using semi-structured interviews for deeper access to the what the people I interviewed feel about the subject. The interviews are conducted with IF Elfsborgs club president Stefan Andreasson, Goran Lohne who works with media and events, and Eric Sjölin who are supportercontact. In addition to those I alsointerviewed the supporters club Guliganernas President Anders Hultin. Analysis and conclusion The first impression and attitude is very important when a person goes from a one-timebuyers into loyal customers. This is both the theories and the interviewees opinion. Through staff training and records of how the club would like the first impression and attitude to be the clubs can reach a good level of first impression. Kvinnliga elitidrottares karriäravslut : - en kvalitativ studie om rollutträdesprocessen
This study used a qualitative interview design to explore the experiences of seven Swedish female elite athletes and their career retirement. The athletes were engaged in three different sports; track and field (athletics), handball and golf and five of them are former professional or semi-professional athletes. The process of their athletic role exit was based on the theoretical findings of Ebaugh (1988) and her four phases: First Doubts, Seeking Alternatives, The Turning Point and Creating the Ex-Role. The findings reveal that for these female former elite athletes Seeking Alternatives already starts before the First Doubts and that possibly the athletes at an early stage have insights of the discontinuity of their athletic career. The importance of transferring their role residual to future paths in life was stressed among the female athletes in order to be able to have a smooth transition process.

During the 1960s and 1970s an increased interest in Native Americans can be seen in Sweden, e.g. through the establishment of organizations such as the Indian Club of Sweden. The aim of this thesis is to study the portrayal of Native Americans and its role through Albin Widén, a Swedish author, ethnologist and member of the Indian Club, and his non-fictional works on the Swedish migration to America, Swedish-America and Swedish contacts with Native Americans. The study is divided into four parts. The first part looks at the portrayal of the Native Americans in Widén?s writings, in comparison with Euro-Americans? and Europeans? traditional stereotypic images of a good and a bad Indian.
