This essay is about how organizations reveal their employees in the annual report. The purpose of this paper is to examine the extent to which organizations reveals their employees in the annual report, and the purpose has three questions: How do the organizations present their employees in the annual report? What do they choose to report? What motives lies behind?The problem today is that organizations can´t account the employees as Assets, they can only be accounted as an expense in the income statement. This can lead to that stakeholders can´t convey an organization's "true" value.With a combination study, we examined how organizations certified by Investors in People presents the employees in their annual reports. In the framework, we have, among other things dealt with personnel mandatory disclosure in the Annual Account Act, the difference between private- and public sectors accounting.
Bitcoin : En jämförande studie om risk och avkastning på europamarknaden
This study is about the potential advantages as an investment option in a portfolio. The study shows that the incorporation of bitcoins in a portfolio, even to a small degree, gives significant increases of both risk and return. The different studied portfolios sharpe ratio rises, which in turn shows that the risk reducing return increases when bitcoins is used as an investment option.This study is based on Virtual Currency, Tangible Return: Portfolio Diversification with Bitcoins by Brière, Oosterlinck and Szafarz. The authors of this study have compared their own results with the study mentioned and seen its similarities and differences. The study investigated a total of eleven different Assets percentage return over 192 weeks ranging from July 2010 to March 2014.
Valet av hög revisionskvalité : Vilka faktorer beskriver valet?
This paper analyzes the auditor choices for a sample of 300 predominantly small Swedish firms, all located in Umeå. Our hypothesis was based on the complexity of a firm, the need of external financing, leverage, and the need of extra consultance from the auditfirm. Our definition of auditor quality is based on prior studies, and is frequently used by authors in this area. The assumption is based on that the auditor quality increases with the size of the auditfirm and the degree of the auditor. The auditor quality is therefor depending on the choice between an auditor from the group ?Big 5? or not, and the choice of an auditor with an higher degree.
Internt upparbetade immateriella tillgångar : en studie om identifiering och redovisning i branschen konsumentvaror och -tjänster
Bakgrund: Inkonsekvensen i hanteringen av internt upparbetade immateriella tillgångar har uppmärksammats av bland annat standardsättarna IASB, AASB, ASBJ samt organisationen RFR. RFR menar att mer fokus bör läggas på identifieringen och redovisningen av internt upparbetade immateriella tillgångar på grund av deras markanta ökning samt betydelse för företag och kunder.Syfte: Studien ska beskriva den kontext där internt upparbetade immateriella tillgångar förekommer, och därmed bidra till en förståelse över hur deras egenskaper och identifiering behandlas redovisningsmässigt, inom branschen konsumentvaror och -tjänster.Metod: Studien är gjord utifrån en kvalitativ ansats och är baserad på intervjuer med företag inom branschen konsumentvaror och -tjänster som har internt upparbetade immateriella tillgångar.Resultat: Branschen konsumentvaror och -tjänster använder sig av både formella och informella tumregler vid identifiering av internt upparbetade immateriella tillgångar på grund av den osäkerhet som råder vid bedömning. Existensen av tumregler påverkas av faktorerna nyckelpersoner, erfarenheter samt storleken på företaget och posten internt upparbetade immateriella tillgångar. Branschen anser att det finns svårigheter i de existerande regelverken men att standarden IAS 38 är tillräcklig överlag..

Knowledge transfer is important since it makes it possible for co-workers to apply old solutions to new problems that arise, using knowledge that already existing within the organization.

Estimering av kreditbetyg - Syntetisk rating med Ordered Probit Model
Calculations of net present value are based on a discount rate, which requires knowledge about the company?s cost of debt. A common way to do this is by observing the company?s credit rating, when no credit rating is given it?s possible to use a synthetic rating model based on quantitative data to estimate a credit rating. Thus, the aim of this study is to increase the understanding of which quantitative data, in terms of key figures, that can be used to explain the given credit ratings for companies from the Nordic countries.In developing the model, key figures found significant in previous studies are being tested for whether or not they are applicable for companies from the Nordic countries.

Agency theory describes the conflict of interest between the principal (stockholders) and the agent (CEO). Aligning the incentives of executives with those of the owners is the most direct way to mitigate the agency problem. If there is no meaningful link between CEO compensation and company performance, it is doubtful that the large sums of Assets in public corporations are being managed efficiently. In theory the solution is simple reward the CEO when shareholders wealth increases. The purpose of this paper is to investigate if there is a relationship between company performance and CEO compensation among Swedish companies, in materials and information technology industry.

Financial statements have been examined for companies listed on the OMX Stockholm Stock Exchange, Large Cap. We have examined all the companies? annual reports between the years 2002-2008. We have looked at the experience of restructuring and other expenses that occur in the context of CEO change.

Accounting has been critized for being one of the leading factors in the latest financial crisis. One of the primary problem areas was identified as delayed recogonition of losses on financial instruments. Consequently, a new impairment model is being developed and is to be namned expected loss model. The difference from the present model, incurred loss model, is that it takes losses into consideration on an much earlier level. Even though the model may be theoretically feasible, in practice it may implicate a number of issues.

Social enterprises are increasingly gaining ground as an organisational form in Sweden, however the institutional structures for financing these types of organisations are yet to be established. With its usual origin within the civic society, social enterprises prioritise a higher goal than to maximise economic profit, which often causes these organisations to be dependent upon resources from external constituents within its institutional environment. The aim of this study was to examine how a social enterprise, which derives from the civic society, acts to mobilise resources from constituents in its institutional environment. This was executed through a case study of Jordbro Världsorkester (JVO) - a typical organisation in the civic society which takes the form of a social enterprise - by identifying how Assets were used to gain resources in strategic responses to institutional processes and examining how institutional processes affects how JVO acts. Throughout the study, qualitative interviews were conducted with JVO and constituents in its institutional environment and a theoretical framework was developed which explains how capital is used to gain more capital in an emergent strategy of strategic responses as the organisation gets in contact with institutional processes from its institutional environment.
Intellektuellt kapital i årsredovisningar: En fallstudie av OMXS30-företagen
Allt eftersom affärsklimatet skiftar från ett industribaserat klimat till ett kunskaps- och informationsbaserat klimat blir även företags intellektuella kapital betydligt viktigare. Då intellektuellt kapital inte kan klassificeras som en tillgång i balansräkningen, är det upp till var och en att frivilligt redovisa sådan information, till exempel via sin årsredovisning. Genom att signalera sitt intellektuella kapital kan den asymmetriska informationen mellan företaget och dess omgivning reduceras och företaget kan bli legitimerat av samhället, få lägre kapitalkostnad och lättare att få tag på kapital, samt visa sin attraktivitet till potentiella medarbetare.Syftet med uppsatsen är att bygga en förståelse för hur börsnoterade företag signalerar sitt intellektuella kapital i årsredovisningen och varför de gör det. För att uppnå detta har företagen på OMXS30-listans årsredovisningar analyserats med hjälp av en modell för intellektuellt kapital vid namn The Intangible Assets Monitor. Vidare har även semistrukturerade intervjuer genomförts.Analysen av den insamlade empirin visar att börsnoterade företag till stor del redovisar sitt intellektuella kapital i form av diskussion, då det är ett väldigt kvalitativt element och är svårt att kvantifiera.

The Anglo-Saxon trust is not a new phenomenon, but existed as early as in the Middle Ages. The concept is customary among common-law countries, such as England the US,but unfamiliar to civil-law countries like Sweden. The person who creates the trust is called a settlor, the one who holds and administer the property is a trustee and the person who benefits from the settlement is called a beneficiary.In Sweden there is no legislation of how the trust ought to be assessed, but the need to understand it has probably increased with the internationalization.The Swedish Supreme Administrative Court has had a few opportunities to elucidate some of the uncertainties regarding trusts, but chose to abstain.
