Bakgrund: Ledare i Kina och Singapore har hävdat att deras konfucianska kultur gör demokrati olämpligt som styrelseskick. Forskare har visat att kultur kan påverka demokratiseringsprocesser, men är osäkra på konfucianismens effekt i Öst- och Sydostasien. Hypotesen att konfucianska värderingar på något vis skulle begränsa eller försvåra demokratiseringsprocesser ligger till grund för denna uppsats.Syfte: Uppsatsen syftar till att empiriskt undersöka om människor i Öst- och Sydostasien som uttrycker stöd för konfucianska värderingar uttrycker ett lägre stöd för demokrati. Uppsatsen undersöker om det finns ett likartat samband i hela regionen eller om länderna skiljer sig åt.Metod: Uppsatsen använder en omfattande komparativ enkätundersökning, Asian Barometer, gjord i 13 länder i Öst- och Sydostasien åren 2005-2008. Datan analyseras med hjälp av regressionsanalys i syfte att undersöka hur konfucianska värderingar och kontrollvariabler påverkar demokratistödet hos befolkningen i de olika länderna.Resultat: Konfucianska värderingar har ingen effekt på demokratistödet hos befolkningen i en majoritet av länderna.

The purpose of the thesis is to describe how environmental compensation is carried through when it comes to exploitation of Natura 2000. The thesis also relates to the three theories of planning synoptic, advocacy and transactive. Three cases of environmental compensation have been studied from three different countries where an exploitation of the Natura 2000 is done. Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands have all been working with environmental impact assessments as a demand to be able to carry through their projects. The projects concern the development of a railway track, an industry and a port which all have been approved by the EU-commission to carry on because of socioeconomic reasons.

Aim Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire 2007 (DCDQ'07) is an international survey tool based on parents' estimation of their child's motor coordination skills. The purpose of this study was to investigate the validity of a Swedish version of DCDQ'07 by finding out how the classification of Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) via DCDQ'07 is consistent with the classification of DCD via the motor impairment test, Movement ABC.MethodIn the context of a larger study, a Swedish translated version of the parent survey DCDQ'07 were sent to 4000 randomly selected families with children aged 8 - 10 years in Stockholm County. The classifications "DCD" or "NOT DCD" with cut-off values ??of 56 (9 years) and 57 (10 years) were applied. Forty families were selected from 410 registered responses.

According to the Swedish strategy for forest protection, additionally 40 000 ha productive forestland will be protected in the county of Västerbotten, between 1999 and 2010. The purpose of this essay is to analyze and show possibilities how a city can grow into the scenery of a oak dominated landscape and how this encounter can add values to the city. The city in focus is Linköping, a city that is approaching one of Sweden?s largest oak dominated cultural landscapes. To this landscape high ecological and cultural values are connected. The recreational values are also of importance especially because of its urban location also because the city is mainly surrounded by flat agricultural land.

My project is about attitudes towards disabled people, about our fear for those who are different, about acceptance, ideals and normality.My inspiration has been prosthesis, and mostly people that are born without limbs. Through my research I have come across a lot of questions. Such as, why is a prosthesis so important and for whom? Why is it so important to be normal? What is normal and for who? People that are born different se upon themselves as normal, until they realize that others don?t. Many of them want to learn how to deal with life without prosthesis. And therefore they reject these. Sometimes the prosthesis is aids that are highly necessary.
