The aim of my examination work was to compare and research how russian respective swedish teachers make use of educational aesthetic methods such as drawing, drama, music and dance in the teaching of core school subjects ? mathematics and swedish respective russian languages. The aim of this work was to find out which of these methods are used by pedagogues in the process of education and on what level are they integrated into the theoretical pedagogic work. The point was to also analyse the regulation documents used as pedagogical base in schools i've been doing my survey in. This was done to partly find out what Arts perspective is given in the curriculum and partly to see what pieces of it are reflected in the process of education.

Title: Strokes of music - Harmonic methods for modal music.The aim of this paper is to develop harmonic methods for music based on different modes or scales. It begins with an exploration of the music of Claude Debussy and then goes on with other methods and scales and also includes an analytic chapter and results at the end. With "strokes of music" I mean a musical technique, which has some parallels to how a painter can choose colors and palettes to express what he is looking for ? the freedom to choose between colors and palettes, or in music tones and scales ? to move between them by sudden or leading modulations, from the diatonic scales with alternative formations, to the symmetric spheres, to the melodic pentatonic scales and other alternative new formations, using plateauic solutions or chords in diatonic, functional and non-functional progressions. A scale can be used as tonality or subordinated and the harmonic rhythm can be both with no movement and fast paced.Syftet med detta dokument är att utveckla harmoniska metoder för musik som bygger på olika modus eller skalor.

Uppsatsen syftar till att söka svar på hur viktigt det är att människan i vårt samhälle ser på sig själv som en musikalisk individ och hur viktigt det är att andra också gör det. Spelar musikaliteten någon roll för oss människor eller är det kuriosa, något extra och roligt som vissa har stor glädje av men som andra inte saknar i någon större utsträckning? Forskningsfrågorna som använts är: Vad händer när man får veta att man är ?omusikalisk?? Hur framförs beskedet och hur har det förändrats från andra halvan av 1900-talet och fram till idag? Uppsatsen baseras på teorier om musikalitet och identitet. Metoderna är kvalitativa och utgår från narrativa metoder med sitt ursprung i Labov (1972) och hans modell för berättelseanalys vilken även skulle kunna beskrivas som diskursanalytisk. De berättelser som ligger till grund för studien kommer från sex informanter i åldrarna 18-58.

Denna uppsats handlar om de val som görs vid bevarande av historiska trädgårdar inom National Trust, en av Englands största förvaltare av historiska trädgårdar, samt hur dessa val påverkar den historia som berättas på platsen. De tre frågeställningar som behandlas i uppsatsen är: (1) Hur beslutar National Trust vilken historia som ska berättas på platsen? (2) Vilka riktlinjer och bevarandeprinciper ligger till grund för dessa beslut? och (3) Hur har National Trust omsatt riktlinjerna vid restaureringarna av National Trusts trädgård på Standen? Syftet är att synliggöra valen, på vilka grunder de fattas och genom att ställa detta i relation till hur den slutliga utformningen blivit få en bild av hur National Trust väljer att berätta en plats historia. I den första delen görs en genomgång av trädgårdsbevarandets historia inom National Trust, teoretiska begrepp samt riktlinjer och strategier som är aktuella i dagsläget. I den andra delen görs en fallstudie av en anläggning där det för närvarande pågår ett restaureringsprojekt, Standen. I den tredje delen diskuteras de tre frågeställningar mot bakgrund av litteratur, dokument, intervjuer och platsbesök. Genom att analysera hur förändringar har genomförts på Standen jämförs hur riktlinjerna och principerna implementerats och hur detta påverkar den berättelse som presenteras för besökaren. Slutsatsen från uppsatsen är att National Trust har genomfört ett omfattande förändrings-­ och moderniseringsarbete under 2000-talet som lett till att de lokala anläggningarna fått ett betydande inflytande över hur en plats betydelse uttrycks. National Trusts riktlinjer utgår från internationellt erkända dokument såsom Florensdeklarationer och Burra charter men de också utvecklat egna strategier för att öka det lokala engagemanget och tillgängligheten som framgångsrikt implementerats på Standen. Besluten om vilken historia som ska berättas har fattats i nära samarbete med centrala organ inom National Trust, medan besluten om hur den berättas i stor utsträckning sker lokalt..

The aim of this thesis is to investigate whether personal development, from the professional perspective, could be a relevant part of the music education department at Malmö Academy of Music. The thesis explores whether students would gain a better understanding of the professional teacher's role through personal development, and also the kind of educational structure that would be most suitable to achieve this understanding. A qualitative focal group interview was used as a method, and the participants where four students at Malmö Academy of Music. The results show that the students generally would be open-minded to integrate personal development in their educational program, and they also have a lot of interesting ideas regarding how a framework for the integration of personal development in the educational program could be structured. A number of suggestions how to integrate self reflection in the educational program are presented in the thesis.

The main purpose of this study is to inquire whether music can function as a supportive and compensating tool for children from various kinds of social exposure. Eurhythmics is the musical method focused on, since it consciously works out of a socializing perspective. The study involves a scheme with poor children in Argentin (autumn 2005) and is based upon two interviews with women working professionally with both the social and the musical aspect of the current question. Notes from the above mentioned project are added to the interviews. The possible conclusion from the end results is that the individual as well as the dynamics of the group (as a whole) draw positive benefits from not only the music itself but also the structure and the elements of it.

Title: Teaching improvisation in different musical genres My curiosity for teaching improvisation in different genres emerged when I started playing with musicians who had another musical background than my own. I wanted to acquire a better understanding of what improvisation means to them and how improvisation is taught in their genre. The aim of this study is to gain insight into four pedagogues' methods of teaching improvisation. The four pedagogues represent the genres of jazz, blues, organ music and folk music. I chose these four genres for two reasons.

The scope of this master thesis is the scientific publishing at Uppsala University's Faculty of Arts. The aim of the thesis is to investigate publication patterns and publishing strategies. To investigate how the publication patterns of the faculty is structured and what priorities and considerations the researchers have regarding scientific publishing. Furthermore, the aim is to compare these publishing strategies and publication patterns to incentives and selection principles of the bibliometric indicators in the performance based research funding systems on the national and local scale.The thesis is based on the theories of disciplinary differences developed by Richard Whitley and Tony Becher and Paul R. Trowler. These theories suggest a framework based on organizational and sociological perspectives, that offers ways to explain differences in publication patterns between different scientific fields.The study is based on two empirical studies of the faculty.

Denna studie har som huvudsyfte att undersöka hur organisationer arbetar med flyktingbarn och på vilket sätt en pedagog med skapande inriktning (till exempel en musiklärare) kan arbeta för att förbättra flyktingbarns situation i Sverige och i världen. Studien utgår från tre intervjuer med människor som är aktiva inom tre olika organisationer i Sverige. Dessutom tar studien upp integrationsprojektet Tillsammans och jämför det med information från teoridel och informanternas information. Slutsatser som kunnat dras från resultatkapitlet är att om organisationer som arbetar med flyktingbarn samarbetade mer med pedagoger med skapande inriktning skulle flyktingbarns situation kunna påverkas positivt eftersom detta är en kraftfull kombination av kunskap och erfarenheter. Det kan också vara av betydelse att fler musikpedagoger får upp ögonen och också erbjuds kunskap som kan behövas vid arbete med flyktingbarn.

Title: Adults who have been suzuki children speak out - A study of the consequences of the Suzuki method in five adults' lives. This study deals with a quite unexplored field: the consequences that the Suzuki method, that among other things is based on learning by listening and early beginning, can have on a child's life. This can be useful for those generally interested, for Suzuki teachers and even for those who are critical to the Suzuki method and have asked for more research about it. I have performed interviews with five adults who have all grown up with the Suzuki method of learning in Sweden. Based on their answers I have also analysed their experiences in relation to Suzuki's view on child development, the thirteen basic principles of the Suzuki method, Howard Gardner's opinion on the Suzuki method and previous research in Sweden.

Title: A study of how active therapist talks about the FMT method. FMT-therapists use music as a means of communication. The method is non verbal and uses musical codes to create a framework for the apprentice. The instruments that are being used are piano, drums, a variety of flutes and whistles. The FMT-method is a musical form of therapy that targets all functional disabilities.

AimThe aim of the present investigation was to study the side distribution (right, left) and possible gender differences in terms of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in different sports.MethodThis Register study comprises a total of 27856 subjects from the Swedish National Anterior Cruciate Ligament Register. Side- distribution and possible gender differences were analyzed. The different sports consisted of aerobics, alpine skiing, basket, cross-country skiing, dancing, enduro, floorball, gymnastics, handball, ice hockey/bandy, martial Arts, outdoor activities, racket sports, snowboard, soccer, and volleyball. Due to injuries that had occurred in the traffic and at work 5076 subjects were excluded. Statistical data have been analyzed with one way ANOVA and x2 test and the Tukey post hoc test has also been used.

Scatsång och röstimprovisation är speciella kännetecken som skiljer jazzsång från andra sångstilar. Men det betyder inte att alla jazzsångare gillar att sjunga scatsång eller göra ordlösa improvisationer med sin röst. Vilka tankar finns hos jazzsångare om scatsång och röstimprovisation? Det är en fråga som har inspirerat mig till att göra denna studie. Syftet med denna studie är alltså att undersöka hur scatsången och röstimprovisation uppfattas av erfarna jazzsångare idag.

Title: Access to cultural education in a multi-ethnical context.The right to dance and play an instrument, to paint and work with film is taken for granted by many children in Malmoe today. The agenda explicitely phrases the intent of the publicly financed schools of art for children to reflect the multi-ethnic demographics of the city. Public community music schools of today, incorporate classes in all forms of art and are called "Culture schools". There is a long tradition of teaching and making music to lean on as a music teacher in Sweden. This paper tries to explore how these rights are expressed in the governing documents of the Culture school of Malmoe.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att ta reda på om och i vilken grad elever, och lärare i ensemble och musikteori, upplever att eleverna integrerar musikteori och ensemble samt ifall bakgrund i musik- eller kulturskola påverkade integrationen. Jag använde mig av en kvantitativ undersökningsmetod, det vill säga enkätundersökning i mitt datainsamlande. Fyra skolor i olika storlek och olika delar av Sverige deltog i undersökning som genomfördes med ett ?emic? insider- och ?epic? outsiderperspektiv, det vill säga elev- och lärarperspektiv.I min bakgrund visar jag att musiklära kurs A enligt kursplanen ska ligga till grund för det egna musicerandet. Ensemblekursen har främst för avsikt att ge grundläggande färdigheter relaterade till sång eller instrument, men påvisar koppling i B-kursen.
