In this work I have examined how two violin students, who are used to the classical music tradition, think when they learn to play Swedish folk music, with focus on rhythm and beating the time with their feet. One of the students is studying on her first year to be a classical violin teacher and the other student is studying on her third year to be a classical musician, both are studying at Malmö Academy of Music. I had three lessons, one hour each, with these two students where I taught them some basics in how to play Swedish folk music. After the last lesson I interviewed the two students. I have done interviews with two teachers at Malmö Academy of Music; Wieslawa Szymczynska and Mats Edén.

The purpose of this study has been to examine how Afro-Cuban musical traditions and concepts are integrated in compositions for solo guitar by the Cuban guitarist and composer Ñico Rojas and how this can be expressed in the performance of his music by a classical guitarist. For this purpose a guide to Rojas music, which is included in this report, was written based on literature about Afro-Cuban music. Then a classical guitarist learned to play a piece by Rojas with help from the written guide. The result was examined using recordings of the guitarist's interpretations and an interview with him. The conclusion is that different aspects of the Afro Cuban musical tradition are present in Rojas? music, but that the concept of the clave was the most useful aspect for the classical guitarist that interpreted the music of Ñico Rojas in this study..

In May 2005 the Swedish cinema chain Astoria Cinemas is founded and in July two years later the company goes bankrupt. In this thesis Astoria Cinemas is used as an example to illustrate the conditions for a culture-producing company in a commercial market. The purpose of the thesis is to discuss the strategies for cultural production that has been used by the actors involved in the Swedish cinema market, and also to discuss the structural environment on that market. It is a qualitative study based on interviews and documentation. A few conclusions are possible to draw from the empirical material, one is that Astoria Cinemas? management did not agree on the company?s business strategy and therefore might have acted strategically inconsistent.

These craftsmake up a webof technologies, materials,and to some extent tool returns and borrowed.By looking at afew items fromthese crafts haveI let myself beinspired and made ??use of knowledgehow to buildforms and eventransfer them tonew areas inan aesthetic andartistic direction.

Syftet med arbetet har varit att öka kunskapen om musikintegrering i barns språkinlärning. Jag ville ta reda på vilka metoder lärare idag använder för att lära ut språk samt vilka hinder och möjligheter de anser finnas i arbetet med musik. Arbetet är byggt på intervjuer med lärare i grundskolans tidigare år och en musiklärare som arbetat som kompanjonlärare i grundskolan. Samtliga lärare såg musik som en viktig del i undervisningen, men hur de använde sig av musiken var olika. Två lärare spelade själva instrument, medan övriga lärare använde sig av CD-skivor och kassettband.

I denna uppsats tar jag upp hur man kan inspirera och skapa lust till slöjdande för eleverna i skolan. Jag tycker att det är betydelsefullt att man som lärare vet vad som skapar lust hos eleverna och att man kan sporra alla i skolan. Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur jag som lärare ska inspirera och få eleverna intresserade av slöjd. För att få fram information har jag intervjuat hemslöjdskonsulenten i Skellefteå samt läst pedagogiska böcker, styrdokumenten och sökt information på Internet. Jag har funnit att det är leken och fantasin som inspirerar barn och ungdomar till slöjdande, samt att jag som lärare måste skapa förutsättningar för att slöjden ska vara lustfylld för alla.

The Tessin School is located 2 miles from the center of Nyköping and the schoolhouses approximately 900 students. To make a design proposal for the courtyard that lies atthe canteen I decided from the outset that I wanted to take some of the Tessin SchoolStudents' opinions and wishes regarding their own outdoor spaces. I had a workshop witheight students from the Arts program with the image orientation in which they had to drawand tell them what they wanted to do in the courtyard. The outcome of the workshop, Iused to move forward in my future work with a concept that fit into the environment, wethen apply it in my final design proposal.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om och hur gymnasieelever ges möjlighet att reflektera över sitt eget skapande i Bild. Studien har utförts inom ramen för Estetisk verksamhet då dess kursplan anger reflektion som ett av målen för Godkänt betyg. Då det ingår i lärarens arbete attytterst ansvara för planering av kursen utifrån aktuell kursplan, utgår studien från ett lärarperspektiv. För att se hur bildundervisningen ger möjlighet till reflektion har observationer utförts på tre gymnasieskolor med påföljande intervjuer med respektive lärare. Studien granskar nuvarande, dåvarande samt en föreslagen kursplan, för att se vilken betydelse som ges begreppet reflektion.

Title: The future is looking bright - Studies of burnout among musicians and music teachers. Since late 1970's, the burn-out-syndrome has been researched in several ways, especially among people working in care-oriented employments. The object with this study is to find out the biggest issues about why musicians and music teachers burn themselves out. This is based on musicians and music teachers own stories when they got burned out. The method I have used is qualitative interviews and in the result chapter I will present summaries of the interviews.

This thesis is an investigation of Iranian immigrants and their use of libraries in Sweden. It isbased on a combination of a qualitative and a·quantitative method.Using a qualitative method, I give an outline of the history of lran from ancient times up to the present, as well as the different ethnological groups in Iran and their cultures. The main objective of this part is to clarify the contrasts between Iranian and Swedish cultural, social, linguistic and family structures, and also the characteristics of the crisis that most immigrants go through on their arrival in the new country. The qualitative method also involves structured telephone interviews with eight highly educated Iranians.This method was supplemented by a quantitative study through questionnaires of the attitudes· of lranian immigrants to libraries and reading. Iranians in Sweden turned out to be frequent Iibrary users.

Organizational culture is a widely discussed topic. Today job mobility in society is increasing as well as part-time employment. This study aims at investigate how organizational culture is maintained in an organization where employees work as combiners of different work occupations. The study is a case study of the department of Art at Konstfack (The University College of Arts, Crafts and Design). The organization is unique in the respect to that the majority of the employees have part-time employments within Konstfack combined with their parallel own artistic occupations.

This thesis is a case study that analyses the seaside resort Ystad Sandskog and its private architecture between 1850 and 1940. The multitude is evident in the area's architecture. The architectural development is analysed with the use of a social historical perspective, including class and hegemony. Regional as well as national affective factors are used in the analysis. Aside from the social aspects, architectural ideological developments, general development of the seaside resort and the area's committee with its prescriptions are all factors considered.By dividing the development in four different chronological phases, which all represents a certain architectural expression exemplified by a selection of buildings and the social class that it accompanies, a culmination in the architectural structural development of Sandskogen is shown.

Frågor ställs också om vilka teorier han stödde sig på och om han fortfarande påverkar nutida teateruppsättningar.Craig placeras in i sin samtid och jämförelser görs med samtida utövare inom konst,teater och dans. Fanns det en gemensam påverkan som kan förklara att liknande teorier uppstod parallellt? The purpose of this essay is to identify how the drug user is portrayed in motion pictures. My main questions are: How is the drug use described? How is the male and female drug user depicted? How may the movies contribute to the construction, reproduction and change of gender? The method I use in my research is a qualitative, selective discourse- analysis of a number of movies prominently portraying drug use. A gender perspective is also applied on this paper.The main result of the study is that I have found that the great majority of the analyzed films portray drug use as means for something else. Drug use is often portrayed in the beginning as heavenly but changes to be depicted as problematic.
