During the 1930´s the hot potato for the Swedish lighting associations were how to create the most suitable light for every situation, either for industries, offices or homes. The light bulb were the most frequently used source of light but due to limitied luminous intensity, big halls sometimes required up to hundreds of light bulbs to produce the right amount of light. Two kinds of different lights, by different reasons, can be titled the predecessors of the fluorescent lighting during the 1930´s: The volfram-filament tube light due to its estetic similarities and the electric discharge (mercury- and sodium-) lamps due to its technical resemblance. Det har blivit mer och mer vanligt med ny, datoriserad teknik i hemmen. Fler människor har ett allt stressigare liv och inte längre samma tid att ta hand om det egna hemmet. Behovet av en hjälpande hand med hushållsarbete har blivit allt större. Tänk själv att komma hem från jobbet eller skolan och så har golvet blivit skinande rent utan att Ni knappt har behövt göra någonting! Det finns idag flera olika robotar på marknaden för detta ändamål. En av dessa är den autonoma dammsugaren, som är det vi inriktat vår uppsats på.

Efterfrågan och tillhandahållandet av platsberoende tjänster blir allt större vilket i sin tur skapar intresse för billiga och skalbara tekniker i alla möjliga olika miljöer. Särskilt intressant blir tekniker som är lätta att installera på nya platser och vars hårdvarukomponenter är enkla och billiga. I denna rapport presenteras en experimentiell systemteknisk metod för positionsberäkning i inomhusmiljöer, specifikt de som på grund av lokala elektromagnetiska fält, rörliga större föremål eller oregelbundna ytor skapar störningar som gör det svårt att utföra förlitlig positionering. Systemet utgörs av ett antal wifi-routrar samt en signalmottagre kopplad till en dator med systemets mjukvarukomponent installerad. Resultatet bedömdes utifrån en förväntad nivå av korrekthet, närmare bestämt att minst hälften av systemets bedömningar inte har fel med mer än två meter, samt en övre gräns på högst tre meters fel i minst 90 procent av fallen.

Discussing light and lighting in the night-time environment of Tensta, a Stockholm suburb built between 1962 and 1970, this thesis suggests that lighting should be designed for the outdoor environment as a whole. The feeling of safety and human perception are important components in this thesis. Starting with some comments on visual perception and how we adapt our sight to an interval of the visual input we get, makes it possible to understand that more light sometimes hides, rather than reveals, things. Amongst the dispersed houses, in the green parks of Tensta, this turns the pedestrian roads, lit by pole-top-mounted fixtures, into light tunnels in a dark surrounding. Syfte: Denna uppsats syftar till att skapa förståelse för NPM och resursfördelning med avseende på resursfördelningsmodeller och dess användning i offentlig sektor. Metod: Utifrån studiens syfte har en deduktiv kvalitativ metod använts. Empirisk data har samlats in genom ostrukturerade intervjuer. Det empiriska materialet har sedan tolkats och redovisats i uppsatsens analys. Resultat och slutsats: Fördelningen av utbildningssektorns resurser diskuteras utifrån skillda uppfattningar av lagen ?offentliga bidrag på lika villkor?. Detta ställer stora krav på den resursfördelningsmodell som är framtagen av barn- och ungdomsnämnden i Gävle.

The horses have been in the care of humans for about 5000-7000 years. But even though the horses have been domesticated and artificial selected for such a long time their natural behaviours and instincts still remains. In the rich countries there are many people who have the opportunity to ride either on their own horses or at riding schools. Many of these people have not grown up on farms and have no experience of handling big animals. This can lead to implications of the horses? welfare.

New dwellings and commercial buildings in coastal regions has for some time now been a focal point. Old industrial harbours are regenerated into modern living areas with a recreational purpose. In Sweden the marina has not taken part in this development, thus remained in the monotony and large-scale structures of modernism. This graduation thesis looks upon the marina from a landscape architects point of view, where the marina foremost is a social venue. By revealing and discussing the development of the marina, its design and environmental consequence theories of the marinas future is presented. These theories are later tested upon the costal village of Rydebäck, south of Helsingborg. The thesis is structured in three parts: marina knowledge, proposal and resources. In the first part the historical development of the marina from prehistory time to now is discussed.

The purpose for this Masters thesis is to describe childrens librarians work in supplying literature to children with emphasis on easy-reader materials. Our main questions are: · What do librarians believe characterizes an easy-reader book, and what do they base their decision on when classifying a book as easy-to-read? · How have the libraries in our study solved the hands-on difficulties associated with easy readers childrens literature? · Which factors do librarians consider to be important when supplying literature to children that are not used to reading or are not good readers? The theories we have used are Aidan Chambers Reading Circle and Karner Smidts view on the librarians professional roles when supplying literature. We have used a case study method, which means that we have gathered information through observation, objective papers and interviews. This has been done at six libraries.

In some coastal areas in Sweden water shortage sometimes appears because the withdrawal of groundwater is greater than the groundwater recharge. It creates a situation where the available groundwater is insufficient to support residents and businesses with drinking water. The high withdrawal of groundwater also creates a risk for saltwater intrusion to drinking water wells. The problem most commonly occurs during the summer when the groundwater recharge is low, but the population is high, due to tourism and summer residents.The purpose of this study was to investigate how local water supply in areas affected by water shortage can be solved as sustainable as possible. The work was divided into three parts where the first part comprised of a literature review on water systems in which four different options were investigated: artificial groundwater recharge, rainwater harvesting, desalination and water reuse.

I och med de klimatförutsättningar som råder i Sverige har konstgräs som underlag inom elitfotbollen fått allt större betydelse. För att kunna garantera en god spelkvalitet och värna om både spelarnas upplevelsekänsla och säkerhet är det inte längre naturgräs som är det bästa alternativet på en del håll i landet. Vilka är de övergripande skillnaderna underlagen emellan vad gäller anläggning, skötsel, upplevelsekänsla och skaderisk? Examensarbetet består av två delar, en inledande litteraturstudie där anläggnings- och skötselaspekterna tas upp samt en mer personlig del där de allsvenska spelarna bidrar med sina åsikter om spel och upplevelsekänsla på naturgräs respektive konstgräs. Resultatet visar att det är svårt att fastställa en specifik ekonomisk skillnad både ur anläggningsavseende och ur skötselavseende då det är så många olika faktorer som spelar in.

This diploma work was performed at the department for radiation physics at the Health University in Linköping. Its aim was to develop a method to retrospectively quantify the absorbed dose in coral. Coral is a material which suites well as a retrospective dosimeter because when exposed to radioactivity its induced free radicals are stable in time. The number of radicals is proportional to the accumulated dose so the dose can be calculated by quantifying the radicals. Therefore, coral can tell us something about the past environment and also be used in dating purposes.A young, modern coral from the Red Sea was studied and also a fossil one which I was given from the Natural History Museum in Stockholm.

For Skattkärr IF a turf field with warming has been projected to increase field?s utilization hours and to have a longer period for athletes to perform their activities outdoors. The technique chosen to heat the plan is a type of a geothermal heating system without a heat pump. The brine, which is water with 30% ethanol, collects heat from the borehole and discharges it to a coil in the field. There is at position 11 boreholes but it is planned to increase the number to 31, which is the design for the facility.

This project explores how artificial landscapes as parks and squares above ground can save space by using the vertical voids in urban environments and how they can create spatial and social as well as ecological qualities and connections. Hybrid landscapes are a phenomenon of current interest within the field of architecture and urbanism. Architecture as surface, where facades and roofs become possible to tread, is a relatively recent occurence that has over the past few years become an increasingly common sight in architectural magazines and on international architecture exhibitions. Many of my selected reference projects have often been associated with sensational contemporary design trends generated by advanced computer software. But the phenomenon is also a result of other different currents of change that exist within today?s society, such as densified cities with a lack of open space, which is also expressed in architecture.

This report describes an investigation of the indoor climate in two different workspaces. Since we a big part of our lives are staying indoors in artificial environments, and more particularly in our workplaces, we think it would be interesting to do this investigation. The technical solutions for air treatment systems began with simple natural systems without fans and where the thermal rise of the air applied. In modern time is technical air treating systems used to take care of the fresh air supply. This type of units can supply filtered air with the right temperature to the building. Well-functioning ventilation is essential to bring clean fresh air to the room and effectively remove impurities without sound- or draught problems. The indoor climate is relevant for the output capacity.

The wild boar was reintroduced to Sweden in the 1970´s from enclosures that they had escaped from and by a government decision in 1988 they were considered a part of the natural fauna again. The purpose with this report is to examine the effects of the wild boars? reintroduction both on their welfare and on other aspects, such as how their population growth affects Sweden. This was done by gathering information from scientific literature and by performing three interviews. Another purpose is to briefly overlook live trapping and other common regulation methods.
