Recent years there has been discussed how the critical situation in the housing market threatens the Stockholm region's growth. The thesis objective is to examine whether there is a scientific link between the lack of housing supply and growth. The thesis also intends to identify solutions for increased housing construction, for instance by examining the conditions for a greater regional perspective and influence on the region's housing supply. The thesis empirical study is based on semi-structured interviews with representatives from the Government, municipalities and the housing industry.In Sweden, research on the relationship between housing shortages and growth has not been conducted to that extent it can be said to exist scientific evidence regarding the growth threat. However, in Britain and the U.S, empirical studies show that a lack of housing supply has hindered growth through negative impact on countries' gross domestic product.

The underlying purpose of this study is to see whether a library focused solely on providing literature in other languages than Swedish serves as a unifying, integrating force, or as an agent for division and exclusion. The study focuses on the International Library in Stockholm. The authors have created a profile of the visitors of the selected library, concerning their characteristics, their library habits and their perceptions of the International library. This profile has then been compared with the staff?s perception of the visitors as a group.

Stockholm is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Its population is growing every day and the housing needs are becoming higher. Despite the growth and the need for more houses only a few new housing units are being built every year. Critics argue that if the building rate stays as it is today the development of the city will be very limited since there is no capacity for the city to embrace new incomers.The decision makers in the municipality of Stockholm are planning for large investments in housing units for the coming years up until 2030. There are plans of building approximately 140 000 new apartments to mend the ascending need for new houses.Farsta County is part of Stockholm and lies a few kilometers to the south of the city center.

In Stockholm, Johanneshov the Slaughterhouse area (Slakthusområdet) can be found. A number of companies have gathered there providing the Stockholmers with meat products. This area has a great need for cooling to supply large cold storages. To facilitate this, a central cooling system has been built, supplying the area with effective and safe cooling.The aim of this master thesis study is to give hints to energy efficient and reliable changes that can be put in place at a low marginal cost depending on the future activities in the area. The suggested changes will be presented to the company Bravida (managing the system), which also desires a deeper understanding of the energy flows through the central cooling system.Firstly visiting the site with proper guidance, we have then tried to understand the function of the system including which machines and media that are used.

The purpose of this study is to gain understanding of how self employed entrepreneurs (hereafter referred to as ?entrepreneurs?) develop their competence based on their perceived learning space. The main question is: How do these entrepreneurs develop their competence based on their perceived learning space? Other questions relevant for the study are: How important is the social environment for these entrepreneurs and how do they interact with their social environment in order to develop their competence. The study has a qualitative approach.

The Energy Market Inspectorate is implementing a new tariff regulation in Sweden. A small part of the new regulation concerns effectible operation costs and originally they where intended to be calculated using a modification of equivalent comparison standards, in Swedish Ekm. This thesis is intended to analyze if Fortums grid in Stockholm could be described correctly, using equivalent comparison standards. In Ekm every part of the distribution grid is designated a weighting in relation to 1 km 0.4kV over head line. These Ekm-measurements are intended to simplify comparison between different grid areas with different structure and geographical conditions.

Lagen om unga lagöverträdare syftar till att ungdomar som begår brott skall hållas borta ifrån kriminalvården för att kunna ges en andra chans i samhället och för att belysa eventuella problem som kan finnas i ungdomens hemmiljö så att ungdomar inte hamnar i ett mönster med allt grövre kriminalitet. Klottrarproblematiken är inget som bara dyker upp, utan det byggs upp under en lång tid. Oftast börjas det i väldigt tidig ålder som oskyldigt busstreck som enligt vår hypotes inte tas på allvar av vare sig föräldrar, skola, polis eller socialtjänst. Risken att bli dömd för skadegörelse kopplat till klotter är försvinnande liten. I Stockholm län finns det idag omkring 200 storklottrare vilket innebär att de klottrar dagligen och har klottret som största intresse.

From July 2005 on, the new Swedish Corporate Governance Code will be applied gradually by companies listed on the stock exchange or any authorized financial market in Sweden. The Code has been drawn up in order to clarify and to improve the self-regulation in Swedish companies. The need for codified self-regulation standards has been considered as urgent due to negative trends on the market such as the last few years? corporate scandals in domestic and international trade and industry. The sought-after consequence is to clarify the mission framework for corporate directors.Ch.

The purpose of this paper was to examine how clients on the unit for adults at Södemalms district administration (Stockholm, Sweden) with severe mental illness and substance abuse differs from other clients with substance abuse at the baseline and at follow-up one year later. We have used a quantitative method and analyzed material from ASI-interviews performed at the adult drug abuse unit at Södermalm during the time period 2002-2010. At the baseline the clients with substance abuse and co-occurring severe mental illness have more problems than other clients, primarily in the area of mental health. They spend more time alone and are more likely to engage in illegal activities. Interviewers assess their situation as more serious and that they need more help in all of ASI's areas of life than other clients.

Dagens samhälle är helt beroende av transporter. Av alla de olika typer av transporter som finns inriktar sig denna rapport på persontransporter. Ytterligare preciserat så handlar uppsatsen om intraurbana persontransporter och kollektiva lösningar på detta. Rapporten är en jämförande fallstudie och har som mål att belysa hur olika kommuner motiverar när en större kollektivtrafiksatsning skall göras. Innan fallen presenteras ges en bakgrund i några av de problem och förutsättningar som finns inom ämnet.

Min ambition har varit att operabyggnaden ska imitera och spegla platsens karaktär och unika läge i staden.Galärvarvet är ett område som har direkt närhet till både staden (Strandvägen och Östermalm), parken (Galärparken och resten av Djurgården) samt till vattnet (Ladugårdsviken och Mälaren). Dessa tre stadselement är också starkt karaktäriserande för Stockholm som stad. Intentionen var dessutom att operabyggnaden skulle kunna erbjuda staden något mer än bara opera som konstform och att den ska vara inbjudande och tillgänglig både interiört och exteriört även för de som inte uppskattar operakonsten. Fasaden mot Strandvägen är till stora delar glasad med ytor för operabesökare, balettsalar, orkestersalar och loger för artister samt musiker som kommunicerar operans verksamhet mot staden. Längs med denna fasad löper en lång ramp för besökare ner till den lilla scenen och restaurangen.

En nyskapande byggnad, en opera. Trots det perfekta läget mellan berg och mot vattnet så vänder sig byggnaden innåt. Med formen av ett kvarter där innergården är det centrala. Dagens äldreomsorg kantas av kvalitetsproblem och arbetsmiljöproblem vilket titt som tätt uppdagas i olika mediala skandaler. Sedan en tid tillbaka har äldreomsorgen i Stockholm konkurrensutsatts och idag bedrivs lite mindre än hälften av stadens vård- och omsorgsboenden av privata utförare. Samtidigt anklagas vinstdrivna bolag för att ta ut höga avkastningar istället för att satsa på kvalitén. I denna studie undersöks hur Stockholms stad följer upp och säkerställer att privata utförare tillhandahåller en god äldreomsorg. Studien visar på att kvalitén i dessa verksamheter är komplex att följa upp och kräver en relation präglad av tillit och förtroende mellan kommun och utförare, och uppföljningen har visat sig likna biktens funktion inom den katolska kyrkan.

Intentionen med uppsatsen var att lyfta fram ett elevperspektiv på att Stockholm stad har satt som mål att år 2030 förfoga över en skola i världsklass. Informanterna som deltog i studien går Individuella programmet i en gymnasiesärskola i södra Stockholm. Syftet med uppsatsen var att lyfta fram elevernas åsikter om vaden bra skola är genom en bilduppgift. Målet med studien var att få kunskap om hur eleverna valde att visualisera sina åsikter och vad som är av betydelse för eleverna i en bra skola. Studien utfördes med en kvalitativ forskningsmetod och hermeneutisk ansats.I tolkningen av resultatet framkom att några informanter valde att gestalta den yttre miljön på skolbyggnaden.

Quality is the key to a well executed product or service. The construction industry hasn?t highlighted the quality in recent times which have contributed to the construction industry receiving much criticism in the field. The public sees it as an offhanded industry where errors and delays are common.The reason for this is considered to be primarily the lack of time, constant pressure to reduce costs and skills and the ability to communicate between the parties about what the correct quality really means. The industry has begun to realize that it must start setting clearer standards and that there are great opportunities for improvement.This report will give Peab an opportunity to develop their quality work.
