De stenbundna skeppen i tra?dens skugga : En studie kring skeppsformade monument fra?n yngre bronsa?lder pa? O?land
Ship formed monuments from the Late Bronze Age on the island of O?land, southeast Sweden, have never been thoroughly dealt with in previous research, despite the fact that the region is suggested to have had a key-role in maritime trade networks. This thesis aims to address the ship formed monuments on O?land in relationship to the monuments in northern Sma?land and the island of Gotland. My goal is to discuss how the ship symbolism was practised during the Late Bronze Age in Scandinavia from a new perspective.

This study is based on AgroSeas business idea from environmental problems to valuable resource, with the objective to optimize a method to purify the already eutrophicated Baltic Sea by harvesting water plants, mainly reed. The nutrients will then be recirculated to Arable land through residues from biogas production. The amount of nutrients that can be removed by harvesting the biomass
depends on the amounts of biomass and the nutrient content of it, which in turn is strongly dependent on the nutrient concentration of the surrounding water. Vegetation suggested in the study for an effective nutrient uptake is helophytes: reed, cattails, reed canary grass, reed sweet
grass in shallower water and lemnoideaes: duckweed and nymphaeids in the deeper parts.
Competitive species has high purification ability but requires regular maintenance to avoid channeling and overgrowth. Regarding time and method of harvest, effectiveness may be improved by: harvesting plants above the water level and after flowering, a border is kept, harvesting twice a season, a bigger machine and a regular maintenance.
This literature has illuminated a major environmental problem and it has been suggested
optimizations for a method for cleaning the Baltic Sea through harvesting water plants, but to get a
definite answer for the optimal method for each site tests should be carried out, this because many
factors determine to what is suitable for each, specific environment.

The purpose of this work is to raise ideas and interest for land that is very much forgotten,unused and neglected in terms of maintenance and usability. Railroads are often seen as adirty and loud intrusion in the landscape and therefore cities turn their backs on them. Theland around railroads is not considered useful despite its often central location and scrublandis common in these areas.The starting point of this work is the restrictions and possibilities linked to the land withinthe security distance 30 meters from the railroad center. Within this security distance thereare numerous limitations and regulations due to the nature of railroad use. These limitationsare counted for in the initial chapter and lay the foundation for the rest of the work.

The purpose with this exam project has been to explore how satisfied the buyers of forest land have been with their real estate broker through the transfer process. The respondents had the opportunity to rate a number of different questions around the current acquisition.
A questionnaire with 19 acquisition-related questions was sent to 134 people. People who since 2008-01-01 until today, have acted as a buyer of forest land. 80 responses were achieved and the result shows that the majority of buyers have a high gathered satisfaction..

By immersion in the situation of the food production today and a historical study of how past development has led us to this point, one goal of this essay is to discuss whether the current way of farming can be applied in a sustainable future. Another objective of the essay is to study the vision Vertical farming as an alternative approach, and to focus on different aspects of this phenomenon in order to provide as comprehensive a picture as possible.The paper, thus, seeks to broaden the views for alternative approaches regarding a well-established method which we often take for granted. The aim is also to initiate a discussion around the need to also take radical ideas in regard if we want to face the future in a sustainable manner. The method is a qualitative literary study where scientific articles and papers have been used to discuss the issues: why has the idea of Vertical farming arisen, what is Vertical farming and how is the Vertical Farm meant to operate? Does Vertical farming have a place in the sustainable city of the future? For a long time us humans lived as one with nature, in a symbiotic relationship in which we gave and took as a functioning part of an ecosystem.

Sweden?s forestry legislation was updated in 2010 and a new definition of forest land was introduced. This definition was adapted to the one used by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for international statistics on the state of the world's forests. It is in short based on the lands ability to grow forest that reaches 5 meters, 10 % canopy closure and has a continuous distribution, according to FAO at least 0.5 hectares. A country-wide laser scanning is now carried out for the production of a new national elevation model; the laser data also provides information on forest height and density.

Neonate mortality in fallow deer (Dama dama) in relation to bed-site selection and habitat use
The level of neonate mortality in a free ranging fallow deer (Dama dama) population at the Koberg estate in south western Sweden was investigated using radio-tracking techniques. During this study a total of 36 fawns (17 ?, 19 ?) were captured and marked with vhf or gps radio collars; 12 fawns in 2008 and 24 fawns in 2009. The neonate mortality calculated by the Kaplan-Meier method was 23.6 % and the mortality caused by predation was low, since only 1 of 8 non-surviving fawns died from predation by red fox (Vulpes vulpes). Öjingsvallen vid sjön Öjingen : en pollenanalytisk studie av en fäbodvall i Ängersjö, Hälsingland
By using pollen analysis and 14C-dating, the history of vegetation and land use at the old shieling place (Sw: fäbodställe) Öjingsvallen in Ängersjö parish, central Sweden, was studied. The aim of the study was to answer the following questions:
1) When was Öjingsvallen established as a shieling place?
2) What was the land use at Öjingsvallen?
3) Was the use of Öjingsvallen as a shieling place affected by the agricultural crisis in the 14th and 15th centuries?
4) Is there any relation between the establishment and land use of Öjingsvallen as a shieling place and the historically known increase in the number of shieling sites known to have taken place in the 16th and 17th centuries?
5) Was the use of Öjingsvallen as a shieling place affected by the iron production in the area?
According to the study, Öjingsvallen was probably established as a shieling place during the period A.D. 300-700. The main land use at this time was forest grazing.

Är Lerbodaälven verkligen en problemälv? : undersökning av fosforhalter
Lerbodaälven is a river in the municipality of Kil which, due to high phosphorus content is not meeting the requirements for good ecological status according to the Water Framework Directive. The purpose of this report is to investigate the causes for the high content of phosphorus that has been measured in Lerbodaälven between 1995-2010. Four questions will be answered in this report.
1. Does the sewage treatment work affect the phosphorus level in Lerbodaälven?
The result from the time series analysis shows that the sewage treatment works have a small impact on the phosphorus level in Lerbodaälven.
Slam ? en outnyttjad resurs i skogsbruket
Every year about 210 000 tones dry weight of sewage sludge is produced in Sweden. Most of the sludge is applied to agricultural land, plantsoil and landfill cover. Sewage sludge contains essential nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. Nitrogen is limiting growth on solid ground in Sweden and can therefore be used as fertilizer to increase productivity. In order that the sludge can be spread to forest land it requires first a conversion of sludge to pellets, to make it more manageable.
Svensk havsmiljö i förändring: En studie om aktörers miljöperspektiv och etablerandet av Havs- och vattenmiljömyndigheten
Till följd av en havs- och vattenmiljösatsning tillsatte regeringen år 2009 en utredning för att ta fram förslag på utformningen av en ny havs- och vattenmiljömyndighet. Detta skullekunna ses som ett skifte inom svensk miljövård som präglats av en integrerad syn på miljöfrågor som rör land, luft och vatten, under hantering av Naturvårdsverket. Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka om vattenvårdens inblandade aktörer lyfter perspektivet om sammanhållningen mellan land-, luft- och vattenfrågor när de argumenterar för eller emot den nya myndighetens etablerande samt huruvida detta kan förankras i deras institutionella ställningstagande. Genom en kvalitativ textanalys har frågeställningar om och hur en integrerad syn på land-, luft- och vattenmiljö lyfts av aktörerna undersökts. Vidare undersöks en hypotes om förankring mellan integrerad syn och val av Naturvårdsverket som institution.
