This paper presents the results of a study of dyscalculia. It is a retrospective archival study implemented with a deductive approach. On the basis of established research and theory 18 analytical categories were formulated, before a deductive thematic analysis of empirical material, consisting of journal data of 17 students investigated for dyscalculia, 14 girls (82.4%) and 3 boys (17.6%).The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the concepts formulated in research on dyscalculia and actual mathematical difficulties as those found in practice of students at school.All pupils had early and long-term difficulties with mathematics, while not showing any difficulties in other subjects. Most have had an unsatisfactory learning environment. All had normal intelligence but difficulty with certain cognitive, self-regulatory and linguistic features.

Det är svårt att utveckla en mobiltelefon som är attraktiv för alla olika typer av slutanvändare. En av faktorerna som gör att mobiltelefonen anses som attraktiv är att den skapar mervärde genom att uppfylla slutanvändarens behov och önskemål. Studien undersöker vilket värde som läggs på användarresponsen, som inhämtas via användningstest, i utvecklingen. Detta försöker studien besvara genom kvalitativa intervjuer med två testledare från Sony Ericsson, samt sex användare som deltagit i användningstest. Intervjuerna fokuserade på respondenternas åsikter om värdet av användarrespons.

Denna uppsats belyser om, och i så fall hur, 3G-tekniken förändrat döva ungdomars vardagliga kommunikation samt hur döva använder denna nya innovation. Litteraturen beskriver hur viktigt det är med kommunikation för personlig utveckling och det har därför varit intressant att undersöka hur ungdomarna själva ser på sitt användande av tekniken. Vi har undersökt en grupp döva ungdomar och deras användande av 3G-telefoner; deras attityder gentemot telefonerna och användandet av dessa. Undersökningen har genomförts med semistrukturerade intervjuer på teckenspråk med hjälp av en teckenspråkstolk. Tidigare medier för mobil avståndskommunikation som funnits tillgängliga för döva har varit begränsade till textbaserad kommunikation.

The beta value is frequently described in theory and is a well known factor to quantify the systematic risk in shares through the CAPM model. Initially, this study describes the advantages and difficulties with the estimating process and the problematic nature of the assumptions and descisons included in published beta values.An alternative method, Bottom-up beta, to estimate the beta value that probably has not been tested under Swedish circumstances is applied. The problems and decisions that have to be made to derive an alternative value are studied in detail through six separate steps. I have chosen nine companies at the Stockholm Stock Exchange where this method is used. The result showed that the systematic risk were higher at five shares and lower at four, compared to the published values.Finally there is a discussion about the practise, usefulness and opinions concerning how to estimate and interpret the beta value to determine the expected return..

Samhällsfunktioner och andra typer av tjänster erbjuds i allt högre grad via webben. För att inte riskera att stänga vissa grupper ute från de fördelar denna utveckling erbjuder, behöver tjänster på webben göras tillgängliga även för grupper med särskilda behov. Gemenskap och delaktighet även för grupper med särskilda behov kännetecknar ett demokratiskt IT-samhälle. Förmågan att hantera tid är central i människans liv. Webbtjänster som vill erbjuda sina användare kognitiv tillgänglighet måste ta hänsyn till tidsförståelse som en kognitiv aspekt.

Arbetets syfte var att undersöka hur lärare använder miniräknaren i sin undervisning men även hur eleverna använder den och om det finns några skillnader i attityder och användning mellan elever och lärare. Undersökningen gick också ut på att se om användandet har ökat eller minskat i gymnasieskolan. Arbetet syftade också till att undersöka om det finns några skillnader mellan tjejer och killars attityder till miniräknaren och tjejer och killars användning av den. En lärarenkät och en elevenkät delades ut på fem olika skolor och dessa låg till grund för undersökningen. Resultatet pekar på en ökad användning, en mer positiv attityd till miniräknaren hos gymnasielärarna och att alla lärare, i någon form, tar hänsyn till miniräknaren vid prov.

This paper studies patterns of consumption within a product category. Using make-up as a base for the study, we applied the Mokken Scale to examine if consumers follow a hierarchical pattern when buying items within the product category. Based on a survey of 250 female respondents, we establish a hierarchic scale for consumption. Assuming generally accepted attributes for determining physical attractiveness, the results of the Mokken Scale study were cross referenced with a survey among 200 male and female respondents. The purpose of this study is to contribute to a better understanding of how visions could be applied in subsidiaries and similar sub organisations of global enterprises. With increasing globalisation it becomes more difficult to work in accordance to same standards and towards a common and unifying interest. The study has a qualitative and deductive approach and is based on interviews with three global subsidiaries with some hundred people employed each.Conclusions are that the subsidiaries visions have to be based on a guiding philosophy issued by their mother entities and it is the responsibility of the sub organisation to develop a tangible image with a local vision, mission and strategy with targets requiring feedback. Sustainable strategies cannot be issued without a vision describing where the organisation want be in the future. Otherwise they will not come very far until they have to make a restart with a new strategy and they will never be a market leader..

Using a qualitative research method to get the empiricism for analysis, we have analyzed advisors and job seekers experience of management meetings at the job center in Halmstad. We used a semi-structured interview form when we collected the empiricism from four advisors, four job seekers and one complementary actor in the form of a job coach, with a hermeneutic approach to interpreting the informants? subjective experience. We also chose to analyze our results using theories by Asplund, Von Wright, Mead, Scheff, Barth and MalténsThe results presented have shown that time is what they all described as lacking. It was found that the job seekers had a reasonable degree of common experience in both the management meetings and the working role of the advisors, while the advisors themselves were divided on how their role would be applied.

Det möjliggör skapandet av ökat mervärde på sponsorernas satsade kapital samtidigt som det kan generera ett ökat socialt kapital för de involverade aktörerna. Detta sociala kapital skulle sedan kunna omvandlas till ekonomiskt kapital i en förlängning. Det är dock så att satsningen kräver en del resurser från föreningens sida och ett brinnande engagemang för att fungera tillfredsställande. Föreningen kan dock vinna mycket då nätverket kan skapa en större sammanhållning mellan förening och sponsorer vilket borde öka långsiktigheten i sponsorernas engagemang.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the forest managers view of the edu-cation at the School for Forest management at SLU and the first years of em-ployment. Surveys were sent to batches 05/08, 06/09 and 07/10 a total of 136 question-naires were sent out. 80 people answered the survey, this gives a response rate of 59 percent The former students rated according to a 9-grade scale how satisfied they were with the different courses they had attended during their years as students at the school. The courses in mathematics and statistics got the highest marks with an average of 7.3, while the entry-level course in law only got an average of 4.6. A major part of the former students had in the questionnaire enquired a leader-ship course and a business course with focus on negotiation techniques during their education. There is a wide variety of employment opportunities for the graduated students. Timber buyers and forest managers or planners are just a few positions that for-mer students now possess. The study shows that there is a big difference in the first introduction to a new work place depending on where the student got hired.

Denna uppsats grundar sig i en kvalitativ studie som behandlat fallgropar som återfinns inom projektstyrningen i IT-projekt. Att IT-projekt ofta framställs som över tid och budget och därmed som misslyckade var ett intressant fenomen som vi ville titta närmare på. Vårt fokus låg på själva projektstyrningen av projektet och av den anledningen uteslöts faktorer som utvecklingsmetod eller designaspekter i projektet. Vårt syfte med studien var att undersöka varför IT-projekt inte når framgång ur ett projektstyrningsperspektiv och vår centrala frågeställning var vilken inverkan har projektstyrningens fallgropar på ett IT-projekts framgångar? För att besvara vår uppställda frågeställning utfördes en litteraturstudie där vi tittade på förändring i organisationer, motstånd mot förändring samt de fallgropar som kan återfinnas vid projektstyrningen av ett IT-projekt.

Aluminium sulphate (Al2(SO4)3) is usually added during the drinking water treatment processin order to precipitate organic and inorganic material, resulting in aluminium-based drinkingwater treatment residual sludge (WTR). Since 2003 Swedish law no longer permits WTR tobe deposited in lakes, and there is an interest to explore the possibility to utilize WTR as soilamendment. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of WTR application on cropgrowth and concentrations of macronutrients and trace elements (including micronutrients andpotential toxic elements). This essay is about testing the validity of an article written by Jonas Löwgren, called The use qualities of digital design. The study we have executed is about testing the featured qualities of digital design in the article on two search systems located in the library of Stockholm University and Södertörn University respectively to see how they are able to be applied on search systems. To acquire the information for the study, we handed out a written inquire among users of those systems. The result of this quantitative study shows us that many that five of Löwgrens qualities is likely to be present on the systems. Our conclusion is that five of these are appliable on search systems.
